Passage of all requests (side tasks) God of War: Ragnarök

All side quests, additional missions and requests in the game

Side quests in God of War: Ragnarök are called “Requests”, and are taken as you progress through the game. Either automatically upon completion of certain story missions, or when interacting with various NPCs. This article will address all the requests of each of the Nine Worlds.

born of fire

This quest is activated after you defeat the Ravenous, an elite Draugr mini-boss that spawns near the Draugr Pit. The first hole according to the plot of the game can be found in Svartalfheim, in the Core, when you and Atreus open different doors. Before you open the last door, turn left. There, on the ledge, sits the raven of Odin. Destroy it and follow the thin edge along the wall. Open the gate ahead, then go down and open the door on the right. This is where the first Draugr Pit will be. You will receive various resources, including a spark of Chaos (requires 6 fragments), a handle of the accursed queen (for blades of Chaos), dust of the worlds and royal embers. A reinforced ice ax handle is hidden in the legendary chest.

The second pit of the draugr and the Ravenous should be found on the Watchtower, in Svartalfheim. In Blessed Bay, sail north to find an island with a mystical gate and Brok and Sindri’s shop. Go to the right of the gnome shop and shoot the red jug of gold. After destroying the gold, go upstairs and find yourself at the Watchtower. You will also come here at the request of “In the Service of Asgard” when you destroy three machines of Radsvinn. After defeating the Ravenous, you will receive Regal Embers, Dust of the Worlds, and a Spark of Chaos.

Location of the Draugr Pit in the Plains, Alfheim

The third Draugr Pit is located in Alfheim, in the Plains. To get there, first complete the story mission “The Secret of Groa”. Then head towards the plains from the mystical Strand Gate. Take the side mission from Sindri. Complete the “Secrets of the Sands” quest described above to make the Plains disappear from the sand. And in the lower left corner of the plains, look for a hill where you could not get before (if you looked). Kill the Insatiable and collect the reward: silver, dust of the worlds, the third Spark of Chaos, royal coals.

When you’re in Vanaheim with Freya and reach the village, turn on the tap and jump into the house ahead. Turn the crane one more time and jump to the left to be in the center of the village. Go left and find the fourth draugr pit with the Hateful. This will be a very difficult fight, during which ordinary draugrs will appear. During the battle, I recommend using Valor (if you are trying to defeat him as soon as you arrive at the village) to restore health. Also, run back from the pit to a more spacious location, where there is a log that can be used to heat the Hateful and other enemies. Use normal enemies as another way to heal. The hated will be charged with fire. At such moments, run away and throw an ax to knock off the buff. Otherwise, if you hit in melee, an explosion will occur and you will take significant damage.

To the service of Asgard

This quest can be taken from Rab in Nidavellir, Svartalfheim. Talk to the gnome about the story, then ask again. He will talk about three cars that are emitting black smoke. All of them must be destroyed. Select this task. Three blue markers will appear on the map in Blagodatnaya Bay, pointing to cars.

Look for the first car in the north of the Fertile Bay, where the mystical gates will appear and the Watchtower is located. Stand by Brock’s shop, turn left and run forward until you can climb onto the ledges. This is where Radswinn’s car is located. There will be many enemies near this car. Defeat them, go around the car and look in the crates near the explosive jug for the “Dear Boss” scroll (legends). After the battle, interact with the car window and you will receive resources. Nearby there is a Norn chest. To open it, you need to light three bowls. The first one is to the left of the chest. Then jump to the right, shoot Atreus’ arrow at the seal barrels on the left and light the second chalice. Go to the very top of the tower and look left and down. Shoot the jar behind the railing with an arrow to ignite the third bowl. Inside it, you will find Idunn’s apple, and increase the maximum health of Kratos.

Put a mark on the car just below the mystic gate and swim to the shore to get to Modwitnir’s car. Kill enemies and climb higher. Throw the ax at the round disk to open a passage and jump over to the other side. Climb up the walls and take half of the seed of Ygdrasil from the legendary chest, which opens the way to Muspelheim. Jump over to the right and go down the right side to the orm. Read the rune from the stele “Warning” (legend).

Climb back up, throw the ax at the big crane to swing it to the right twice. Jump over to the other side. You can turn the tap to the right and jump to the red chest. Throw down the chain and climb higher on the other. Destroy the queen and cut the furnace of the machine.

Move to Altjof’s car. Climb up the chain. On the right is the wheel. Using it, lower the crane all the way down. Go to the left of the wheel and pull in another mechanism. Return to the wheel and lift the crane up once. Jump to that side. There is a chest on the right, and a red fence with a barrel on the left. Explode the barrel and go behind the fence. Climb up the ledge on the left. Walk to the left and knock down the shield, creating a short path to the start of the area. Go right and open the gate. Climb down and blow up the red barrel. You will create another shortcut back. Exit to the left first and climb the wall to jump down and smash the floor on the second floor. You will be at the bottom. Kill everyone. Behind the barrels and boxes on the left, on the wall there is a rune “Crusher” (legends).

Look to the right and throw your blades at the grip. Lift the block up. Follow back to the wheel and turn the block down. You will be able to reach the red chest from below. Use the wheel and lift the block up twice. Jump on the third floor to the other side, climb the wall, kill the enemies and disable the third car. The task will end. In addition to resources and experience, you have received six portions of Nidavellir Ore, which will allow you to create the “Best Nidavellir Armor”!

Don’t rush to leave. Look to the right of the furnace machine. Shoot the bow at the seal on the barrels, walk along the edge, jump down and drop the chain. Go down after, turn the wheel to raise the block all the way up. Climb up the last chain and jump to the left with the block. Press the “circle” to break the wall ahead. On the right on the floor is a scroll of “Passion” (legends). The same path leads to the legendary chest with a weak rune for the Njorn Storm axe.

Furnace

To unlock this request, you must find one of the two Muspelheim Seed Halves. For example, one of them is in the Blagodatnaya Bay, in the west, where Modvitnir’s machine is located. You can get there through the side quest “In the Service of Asgard” (read above).

The weight of the chains

To start this side quest, in Svartalfheim, in Fertile Bay, find the climb to the Watchtower. To the right of Brock’s shop, destroy the jug. Examine the gate on the right. They are locked. On the left, by the way, there is a draugr pit. When examining the gate, Mimir will say that the key should be sought on the island near the geyser. Head north from Blagodatnaya Bay, in the direction of Althiof’s car. There will be a large geyser on the right. Dock to the island near the geyser, to the pier, and you will see a message about the beginning of this request.

Shoot the jar on the right and run down the slope, killing small creatures until you destroy their nest. Follow even higher by shooting at the jug, climb the walls and get out to the elevator. Lower the lift with the wheel on the left, aim and throw the Leviathan at the gear to lock the lift. You can also open the gate. Climb down the wall again, but this time climb to the right. Climb up the lift, pull the ax to go up, and jump down, punching a hole in the floor. Defeat the bersgra queen and find the watchtower key in the chest.

Return to the Watchtower, open the gate on the right and lower the shield to the right. Hit the drum to raise Lyngbakra Island out of the water. In fact, this is a living creature, on the back of which there are islands. Swim to it and look for a free pier from the nearest side. Climb up the rock, kill the enemies and blow up the jug in the niche on the right. Cut the first pin. The creature will raise its fin. Throw an ax at the mount to open a path further along the left side to Lyngbakr’s head.

Follow there, kill the enemies and climb the chain. Look to the right for a stele with the rune “On the extraction of resources” (legends). Climb the wall opposite and jump to the left to find a red chest and a purple item – “One of the Remaining, Part Two” (Kvasir’s Poems 3/14, Artifacts). Climb back and jump to the left. Walk towards the enemies, kill and drop the chain. Going down, cut the pin and throw the ax at the chain on the second fin. Destroy the Adl Nest. After that, you will see a jar of explosives. Pick up explosives and blow up the nearest gold. Take the second, jump to the chest and go down to the right. Throw a grenade at the gold on the pier. Search the chest and return to the boat, opening the gate to dock at another pier.

Climb up the rock, destroy all enemies and destroy the last pin. Slide down the cable, throw the ax and destroy the chain. Nearby there is a legendary chest with an ax upgrade and resources. Swim to the creature’s eye to communicate with it and complete the quest.

Eyes of Odin

This optional quest will start after you have defeated the first Odin’s Raven. There are 48 such ravens in total. Before heading to Alfheim with Tyr, the squirrel Ratatoskr will stop you near the mystical gate at Sindri’s house. You will receive a Yggdrasil stone for Niflheim. Use it to move to this world. You will find yourself at the location “Tree of Ravens”. There are six legendary chests here. Each of them opens after the destruction of 6 ravens.

We’ll add it later.

Read more about how to find all the ravens of Odin in a separate guide (ADD LINK).

Secrets of the Sands

After completing the story quest “The Secret of Groa” or at any other time later in the game, return to Alfheim and find a hole in the wall at the mystical gate in Strand. Go through it to the Canyons and already behind the first location look for a ledge with a mystical gate and Sindri’s shop. Speak with Sindri to initiate this request.

Follow deep into the location, get into the harness and move to the “Plains”. First, move around the perimeter to the left. Stop when you see Odin’s green raven in the tree. Destroy it and climb into the gazebo. There will be three dark elves here, one of them is the Ruler. This is a very dangerous enemy, so first get rid of the rest. In the same place you will find the “Horn” (artifacts, Offerings to Freyr 2/6) and the “Purpose of the Tower” runestone (legends). On the other side are the lost pages. If you collect four, show them to the dwarves and you can unlock new equipment. Also take a look at the legendary chest, where you can find Level 4 Gloves of Effulgence.

Find to the right a large skeleton with a skull in which fire glows. Enter inside.

There is a treasure “Vulture’s Gold” here. Climb the wall on the right and kill all the enemies. There will be many dangerous evils. On the right there is a runestone “Desert of our ignorance” (legends). Climb the wall and pick up the Celestial Construct (Kvasir’s Poems 7/14, artifact). Open a legendary chest that contains a level 4 belt of effulgence. Also on the left side of the Plains there is a ruin with a Norn chest. You can’t see the chest, but there is a bowl to the left of it. Light it up, go around the ruins and find the second cup. Light it up too. Also behind the ruins you need to throw a hammer so as to destroy all three red growths. Once you’ve done that, go back to the front and you’ll see a chest. The third bowl is on the roof, and next to it is a burning jug. Blow it up with a bow shot and open the norn chest to get Idunn’s apple.

In the lower right corner of the plains, look for the entrance to the cave. The location is shown in the screenshot above. You will enter the Dungeon. Go down below, follow along the rocks and destroy the red growth. Go down below, kill the enemies and throw the ax at the twilight stone so that it flies off into three red growths. Enter the cave on the right. Be careful with the Dark Elf Summoner. Unlike the light mystic, he is dangerous because he will call on new elves over and over again until you destroy him. Climb the wall to the right, lower the shield to the right and throw the ax down at the three red knots. Get down there. In addition to the red chest, you will find the inscription on the wall “Patience” (legends).

Climb up, even higher and slide down the cable. Go right and jump over the ledges to the other side. Jump to the right, turn around and throw the ax from below at the twilight stone so that it flies through all three red knots. Go down even lower to the norn chest. Open the passage. There is one rune in the corridor that leads back. The other is opposite the chest. This is not enough. Climb back up and jump on the blue hooks on the rocks in the other direction (the path was hidden by growths). Climb down and open another wooden grate. There is a third rune in the window. Throw the ax at her, run back and activate two more runes near the norn’s chest to open it and get a horn of blood honey.

Go back upstairs and go down into the cave, where you have to kill dangerous dark elves. There are twilight stones on the walls. Throw an ax at them to make the fight easier. Make your way through the hole and go outside. Go down to the right, turn around and shoot the jar for gold. Look down and shoot the other jar by the gold. Walk up and to the right. Throw your ax at the Twilight Stone to hit three knots and reach the red chest. Keep moving, kill the adles and throw the ax so that it hits the first node, the twilight stone, and from there into the remaining two nodes. You will free the central part of the location.

Jump there, inspect the chest and return to the abyss. Shoot the burning jug near the gold on the right. Go back and go to where the gold was. Shoot the twilight stone on the wall to the left so that it flies back towards the knots and another stone. Climb up the wall ahead, open the red chest, and turn the slab under the ceiling with the dusk stone clockwise. Throw an ax at it so that it flies to another knot and stone. Go in that direction, kill the enemies and jump over the abyss. Squeeze through the hole in the rock to find the hafhugu.

We need to free the giant beast. Stand at Atreus and look to the left and down. Shoot the burning jug for gold. Jump to where the gold was, turn around and throw the ax through the nearest knot to the far twilight stone. Return to Atreus, turn around and throw your ax at the dusk stone on the wall on the left so that it hits the node closest to him and the next dusk stone. Half done!

Follow on, search the chest. Climb higher, break the ceiling and search the legendary chest. Inside it are whispering stones and a radiant pauldron. Destroy the red node and get to the surface. Jump to the marker and free the jellyfish. The task will end.

When the desert is cleared of sand, a Draugr Pit can be found in the lower left corner. Go to the entrance to the Plains and turn left. Find the entrance to the cave between two plates. Make your way there and pick up the harp (artifact, Offerings to Freyr 3/6).

mysterious sphere

After you almost complete the “Payback” story quest in Valheim, return to Freyr’s camp and talk to Lunda (you need to interact with Brok’s smithy, and the dwarf will come up). She will have an extra task for you.

When you return with Freya to the mystical gate, the woman will stop near the very sign with which you could not interact. This time it will have a marker on it. Interact, cut the seal and cast a spell to open a secret passage.

Go through the opened doorway. Also at this moment, the request “Sanctuary of the Elves” starts. On the up arrow you can switch between sonic arrows and print arrows. First, create three consecutive seals from the edge of the red spines to the object on the left or right. Ignite the seals with the Blades of Chaos. Switch to sonic arrows and destroy the log with the green seal. Get into the boat and swim forward until you find an island with a mystical gate on the left. On the right is the “Emblem of Skirnir” (artifacts, Family Emblems). If you are ready to leave this place, use the mystical gates.

If not, shoot the log with a sonic arrow and swim to the river delta. Follow the marker. On the left, find the mystical gate and Broca. On the right is the location “Ruins on the rock.” Climb the wall and go left. You will see a bridge. You can’t drop it from here. Go back and jump on the pillars in the center of the location where the velva was killed. Look to the left and you will see thickets. Burn them to free the chain. Climb up the chain, interact with the sign and cast a spell with Freya’s help. A path will open up along the river.

Return to the boat and swim to the right under the raised bridge. At the first turn, take a left to enter the Hidden Passage Cave. Dock to the right and find the ball. Return to Lunda and give her the orb to complete the quest.

Elven Sanctuary

When you return with Freya to the mystical gate, the woman will stop near the very sign with which you could not interact. This time it will have a marker on it. Interact, cut the seal and cast a spell to open a secret passage. This will start this side quest. It is performed in Alfheim.

Freya’s anxiety

You will receive this task after the “Payback” story mission. When you get to the Mystic Gate to leave Valheim, destroy the log instead and swim down the river until Freya tells you about the place. The task will start automatically. Swim forward until you reach a new location.

Location: River Delta

You can land on the Pilgrim’s Shore to complete the “Remedy for the Dead” request. Continue to swim along the river until you find the bank on the left with Brock’s shop and mystical gates. Behind the gate lies the “Emblem of Freya” (artifact, Family Emblems 1/6). And to the right of Brock’s shop, around the corner is the stele “Living Masterpiece” (legends). Climb the slope to the right and you will see Olm. Throw an ax at the flower from above to kill it and get resources. On the other side you will meet an old velva. Shoot a sonic arrow to stop her and kill her.

Location: Ruins on the rock

Defeat the velva and other enemies, and talk to Gunhilda’s ghost by the rock in the far left corner. At the rock you need to climb to continue. So the request “Conscience of the dead” will begin.

Climb the wall and go left.

Get to the Goddess Waterfall location. Climb one wall, enter the room on the right and destroy the eggs. After that, inspect the All I Can Stele (Legends). Climb up the wall again and shoot Odin’s raven.

Jump to the left side, pulling towards the capture point. Ignite the first brazier. Climb down and find the norn’s chest. On the right side there is a second brazier. Set her on fire. The third brazier is at the top of the waterfall. Shoot Freya’s seals at the ledges on the waterfall. If you shoot the same seal 3 times, it will increase significantly. Zoom in on both seals and set them on fire to open the norn’s chest for Idunn’s apple.

Open the passage further by the wall that Freya points to. Go forward and you will get to a new location.

Location: Sanctuary of the Vanir

Kill all enemies, including the Devourer. Fighting him is reminiscent of a Forest Ancient. Wait for the enemy to open his chest and throw an ax at him. When stunned, interact to deal significant damage. Once you’ve done that, keep dodging. Kill the rest of the enemies if possible. Keep throwing the ax at the open chest. Pick up a projectile and throw it at the Death Eater’s chest, then finish him off. In the right corner of the location, look for the “Giant’s Feet” treasure map.

On the same right side is the stele “Feast” (legends). There is also a bridge on the right side that should be lowered. Throw seal arrows and enlarge them (shoot at the same orbs). Then set it on fire and throw the ax at the first mount. Go to the center of the location and to the right. Look at the bridge and you will be able to hit the second mount. Cross the bridge and look ahead for the Chestnut Crown stele (legend).

We move to the right and look in the opening for the Hülli emblem (artifact, Family Emblems). We move deeper and destroy two velva and ordinary enemies. At the very beginning of this place there are bushes, on the right side. Throw the ax at the mount to raise the gate. Burn them, return to the previous location where you fought with enemies, and you will see open enemies. Kill an enemy and loot the legendary chest to get a Weak Rune of Blade Attack “Rampage of Furies”.

Go back to where the velva was killed and go forward to the first item for Freya. After that, follow the woman and cut the rune. The first half of the word will appear. Burn the bushes nearby and go down the chain back.

Kill the enemies and go to the beginning of the location. On the right there is a locked gate. At the top there are two braziers that go out after a couple of seconds. Create three seals. Increase them to the maximum and set them on fire. To increase Freya’s seals, you need to shoot at the same place 2-3 times. Go deep into the location and search the chest. Turn around and see the blue inscription on the wall “Traitor” (legends). Burn the thickets on the left side.

Finish off all enemies in the next location and inspect the Blessing of Two stele (legendary). Approach the new item for Freya. She will open the door. Cut the rune, go back and read the full word. Go across the bridge and pick up the scroll “Abandoned” (legends). Go inside. Kill the enemies and take the new Mardell sword. Freya will also receive a new rune call “Harmony of Steel”. In the same room, to the right of the entrance, look for the Ceremony stele (legends). This is the last legend in this location. Go back. First, kill two werewolves, and when you try to sail away on the boat, you will have to kill two Draka monsters.

Conscience is dead

The task is completed in Vanaheim. Where, in fact, is taken. Pass other requests of Freya, move deep into Vanaheim along the river delta. When you find the mystical gates and Brok’s forge, swim to the other side to get to the “Ruins on the Rock” location. Defeat the old velva and talk to Gunhilda’s spirit. And so the request begins.

In the Ruins on the rock there is also a norn chest with a horn of blood honey. Climb the wall to the left of the ghost, go left and jump left to the supports in the center. Look at the rock on the left with thorns. Look down and you will see a turntable.

Throw an ax at it once and look at the norn’s chest to the right. One seal should disappear. Go down and look for another turntable to the right of the chest, behind a rock, in the thickets. Create Freya’s seals and burn them. Turn the spinner to a letter resembling D. Swim to the shore with the mystical gate and look at the river. You will see a turntable. Rotate it to the desired symbol.

From the pillars in the center of the Ruins on the rock, burn the k3sts and climb the chain. Cut the rune and cast the spell.

Swim along the river under the raised bridge, turn left and get into the “Hidden Passage”. On the shore to the right is a sphere for Lund, swim further and find yourself on the shore with purple fog. Kill enemies. On the right is a chest with broken fetters of Lunda (allow you to create armor). Don’t rush to leave. Look up at the ceiling and see Odin’s raven. Kill him. Move on, destroy the eggs and follow down. Climb down the wall on the left and look for the Seidr Sacrifice (Legends) stele on the right.

We move on and kill the enemies. After the first plant, there will be a large bud on the wall on the right. Drop the seal and burn it. Finish off all opponents, at the very end throw an ax at the tower to get rid of the purple fog. Climb down the chain and look to the right for the Call to Arms stele (legends). From here you can also shoot Odin’s raven sitting on a branch above the river. Mission completed. Also from the bridge you can shoot at the burning jug near the legendary chest. Below are other jugs, under gold. Create two or three large Freya spheres and set them on fire. Search the chest.

Medicine for the dead

Once you get to the river delta in Vanaheim at the request of Freya’s Anxiety or the Mysterious Orb, turn right and swim past Odin’s Raven. The beach is ahead. Land in a new location.

Location: Pilgrim’s Coast

Defeat all enemies and talk to Marie’s ghost. You need to find three ingredients. Jump onto the ledge opposite the ghost and shoot the Seal Arrow at the burning brazier to burn the red growths. Then use the sound arrow to shoot the two mounts on the left and right. When the bridge falls, take the first ingredient of the three required.

Keep moving and kill the enemies. First, finish off the Nekke, which makes the rest invulnerable. Then deal with the usual robbers. If they start to “smoke”, run away, otherwise you will miss the damage. Also, jump on enemies with shields, after which they will try to carry out a “blue” attack. Double click L1 to break the shield. After the victory, take the second ingredient needed for the quest, search the chest and read the message “Land of death” (legends) on the stele.

To go further, you need to lower the second bridge. It’s complicated. Look to the right and throw the ax at the mount holding the stand with the two non-burning braziers. Push the braziers to the right, towards the burning one. The right brazier will light up. Create two seals at the left and in the middle, then throw the third seal arrow at the right burning brazier on the candelabra. Push it to the left to light the brazier near the red thorns. Throw a seal arrow at it. When the thorns burn out, destroy the two fasteners with the arrows of sound and go to the third ingredient. There is also a legendary chest with the handle of a fallen alchemist level 5 (ax upgrade) nearby. Through the window on the side, you can throw an ax at Odin’s raven (refers to the River Delta). Return to the spirit to complete the quest. In addition to the standard reward, you will also receive the Luck of Svartalfheim amulet enchantment.

All that’s left of Asgard

This request is activated automatically after the completion of the main storyline. You need to find some fragments of Asgard, scattered across different worlds. Each of them is guarded by Einherjars. To pick up a chip, you first have to kill the Einherjar. In each location you will receive a scroll and a red chest containing resources to upgrade.

Wreck #1 – Vanaheim, near Frey’s camp

On the shore north of the mystic gate of Frey’s camp. You need to search the red chest, then kill the Einherjar.

blooming worlds

We tell you more about how to fulfill this request in a separate guide .

Just right for the king

This request is activated automatically after interacting with any berserker tombstone, which can be done after obtaining Skofnung’s hilt during the main quest Word of Destiny. You need to find all the berserk tombstones in each world and use the hilt on them to start a mini-boss battle (sometimes two or three at the same time). Basically, these are very difficult battles for which you need to prepare in advance.

In total, there are 9 tombstones in the game, which will allow you to summon 12 berserkers in total (in some cases, as mentioned above, you will have to fight against several enemies at the same time). It is noteworthy that the location of each tombstone will be indicated on the world maps immediately after you complete the story part of the game. In fact, there is no hurry, you can calmly wait for this moment, since the tombstone of their Niflheim will be available only after completing the story. None of the tombstones of the berserkers can be missed.

If the berserker’s health bar is covered in purple or orange, it means that your power level is not high enough, and you will need to increase the level of equipment first. The green color of the health bar indicates that the level of the berserker is significantly lower than yours, yellow – similar to yours, orange – one level higher, purple – two levels, red – instant death awaits you. Thus, if you cannot defeat the enemy, return to him later when you upgrade your equipment. Killing berserkers during the passage of the storyline is a difficult task, so it’s best to do it after it is completed. Don’t forget to craft the Resurrection Stone at the Blacksmith’s in the Special Items section. Thus, you can resurrect once during the battle. You can also enable checkpoints during boss fights. Thereby,

We tell you more about how to destroy all the berserkers and King Hrolf in a separate guide .

Deer of all time

To start this quest, you must enter the optional “Crater” area of Vanaheim, which happens after the “Beasts of Prophecy” story mission. Having done this, go south into the jungle and look for the dam, where the “Return of the River” request will begin. Complete it (we also talk about it in this guide) to return the reservoirs to the Crater. Now you can move to different parts of the region and find all four deer. The task will begin after you find at least one deer.

We tell you more about where to look for each deer of the season in a separate guide .

Lost Lindwurms

Lost Lindwurms is a side quest (request) that starts automatically around the middle of the God of War: Ragnarök storyline. You have to find and return the lindwurms who fled across the Nine Worlds. Ratatoskr will ask for this. Lindwurms are the only way to get Storm Sparks, which are used to make 1 Storm Flame to upgrade the Draupnir Spear. After catching the lindwurm, do not forget to return to Sindri’s house, ring the bell to the right of the mystical gate (if you are facing them) and communicate with Ratatoskr.

To start this request, first complete the main mission Word of Destiny in Midgard. Once you’ve done that, go back to Sindri’s house on the world tree and talk to Ratatoskr. He will be in his usual place to the left of Sindri’s house. Ratatoskr will say that after the death of Nidhogg, who was killed by Kratos and Freya, her children disappeared, who began to gnaw holes in the Nine Worlds, forming new Yggdrasil rifts. Kratos needs to get everyone back before they go too far.

First, take the lindwurm trap located on the bench under Ratatoskr. Your task is to recover 6 lindwurms: four are in Svartalfheim and two more are in the north of Vanaheim.

As with the Draugr Pit, catching Lindwurms will reward you with increasing rewards, each with more Hacksilver, World Dust, and Hacksilver Lindwurm Scales. The order in which you catch the lindwurms doesn’t matter.

We tell you more about where to look for lindwurms in a separate guide .

Hel fee

Another request that you unlock after visiting Helheim in the God of War: Ragnarök storyline. You need to find and seal six Hel Rifts scattered across different worlds. After sealing all the gaps, you will receive a Frozen Flame, with which you can upgrade the Leviathan Axe.

So, the task will start automatically and actually starts during the “Reunion” story mission. In this request, Kratos helps either Atreus or Freya seal the tears caused by Garm’s release. They are located in different worlds – one for the available worlds, and for closing each one you will receive a lot of useful resources. It doesn’t matter in what sequence you close the gaps: for each next one, the reward will be higher than for the previous one.

It is highly recommended that you complete this request as soon as you receive it: there are no barriers to completing the quest immediately after the Reunion. You will receive a lot of resources and, most importantly, the Frozen Flame, which will allow you to improve the Leviathan. Although there are 6 gaps in our list, you will close the first two automatically in the story of the game, in the “Reunion” task. So technically only four need to be found!

Unlike Yggdrasil Rifts, Hel Rifts are a test of survival: you have to survive until the satellite can close the rift. In fact, there is always a certain number of enemies that need to be killed in order to close the gap. If you want to find all the gaps of Hel yourself, we will give the only advice that will save time: they are all near the mystical gates that you often use (or at the first gates of the world).

At first, gaps will be marked with “question marks” on the map. In the list of collectibles and side activities of the location, they are signed as “Unknown”. All the enemies you fight near the gap are Hel walkers, so avoid using the ax and focus on Blades or spear instead. If you wish, you can speak with Hresvelg, the giant black eagle who guards the dead in Helheim. However, Atreus will say that this jotun will not give an additional reward for sealing Hel’s ruptures.

Mandatory Hel breaks

The first two Rifts you will encounter in the game will spawn at Sindri and Helheime’s house, where you will return to find Garm. Both must be sealed as part of the game’s storyline, so if you need help, skip to the main quests. Coincidentally, both rifts spawn an infinite number of Hel walkers until time runs out.

Hel Gap in Midgard

  • Location: Midgard, Well of Urd
  • Time limit: 1 minute

Enemies:

  • Two Level 5 Hel Raider Chiefs
  • Two level 5 Hel Shadow archers

The first gap of Hel is on the rise to the Well of Urd, where you will go during the main quest Word of Destiny to find the norns. Climb the rocks as you did before and make your way through the crack in the block of ice. There will be a Hel gap ahead. You can continue climbing until you find a cave leading to the Norns. If you’re with Atreus, Kratos will explain a funny reason why he doesn’t want to see them anymore.

Hel Rift in Svartalfheim

  • Location: Svartalfheim, Aurvanga Marshes
  • Time limit: 1 minute

Enemies:

  • One Hel warrior level 6
  • Eight level 6 Hel shadow archers

The Hel Rift in Svartalfheim is located in the swamps of Aurvang, by the rocky river you traveled on your first visit to Svartalfheim. Head to the mystical gate in the Swamps, get on the boat and sail north. Dock to the shore on the right, right in front of the place where the water wheel was first moved from its place. Jump to the top of the wooden structure on the left and jump further. The rift is right in front of you, behind a pool of water.

Hel Rift in Alfheim

  • Location: Alfheim, Fortress
  • Time limit: 1 minute 30 seconds

Enemies:

  • One level 7 Hel giant
  • Six Reavers from Hel Level 6
  • 1 Hel Ravager Level 7

The Hel Rift in Alfheim is located in the Strand. Fortunately, the right place is located near the mystical gates. Head through the doorway to the right of the large rune statue, jump off the ledge to the end of the path after the Temple of Light, and look for a gap.

Hel Gap in Vanaheim

  • Location: Vanaheim, Southern Wastes
  • Time limit: 1 minute 30 seconds

Enemies:

  • 1 Hel Traveler Level 6
  • 56 legions of Hel level 5

The last gap is in the southern wastelands of Vanaheim. Head to the mystic gate in the southern part of this region, then head north. Move along the path and look for a rift on the right. Once you’ve found all the rifts, you can return to Hresvelg in Helheim and talk to her again. You won’t receive any rewards, but this is a great option to complete the quest and get more information.

born of fire

Another side task (request), which is related to the search for something or someone in different Scandinavian worlds. On the quest, you must find 6 Draugr pits and destroy the bosses located in them, the Hateful. These are dangerous opponents, the difficulty of which increases each time. As with Hel Rifts or Lindwurms, closing each new Draugr Pit will earn you an improved reward. In addition, each pit will give you one Spark of Flame. After collecting everything (by completing this request), you will receive another Flame of Chaos. The quest will start after you find at least one draugr pit.

In a separate guide , we talk in detail about all the pits: how to find and close them.

Curse Sigrun

Sigrun’s curse starts automatically after arriving at the “Abandoned Outpost” in Midgard, on the Lake of Nine. The quest can also start elsewhere if you visit the Rowers location on the same Lake of the Nine. In our guide, the “Abandoned Outpost” is taken as the starting point. Head towards it, move the crane to the side and deal with the Wisps. Examine the rune entry and jump further with the help of another crane.

Keep moving forward until you see a chain link that allows you to raise another crane. Odin’s raven also sits on its top. Raise the crane and use it. Deal with the enemies, turn around to see a green stone, and shoot them down with a sonic arrow. After destroying the stone, go back and go down through the newly formed hole to get to the artifact.

Continue until you find another crane that you need to lower, and then turn to jump further. Climb up to find a rune inscription and a legendary chest. Climb up to find the first half of the Treasury Key. When you leave the abandoned outpost, you will find another Odin’s raven at the base of the wrecked ship. Move to the opposite side of the lake, where the “Rowers” are located.

Get inside and deal with the raiders from Hel. There is a norn chest here. Before you open it, you will have to shoot the green stone with a sonic arrow to hit the bell on the other side of the gate. The other two gongs are next to the chest. In this case, you must act as quickly as possible: first hit the one on the left side, then behind the gate, and then behind you. Alternatively, you can wait until you open the gate permanently and then open the norn chest.

Climb up, kill the Hunter, similar to the boss encountered at the beginning of the game. Climb higher and pull the chain to lower the ladder. Before going down, look up to kill Odin’s raven sitting on the hill. Go down to find a legendary chest and a rune inscription. Before continuing, look under the stairs to grab the artifact.

Continue walking deeper into the location and pick up the second half of the treasure key. Open the gate to return to the beginning of the location. Before you leave, climb the wall next to the norn chest, where the second location artifact is hidden. Head south to the Treasury. Deal with the raiders from Hel, and then proceed to solve the puzzle. In parallel, you can open another Norn chest.

Move Tyr’s huge shield to the right and climb onto it. Destroy the ore to free the stone pillar, then deal with the lights. Light the brazier on the wall above, jump down and move the shield to the left. Light the second brazier to the right of the shield (use the arrows of the seal), then go up again, but on the left side of the shield. Walk around the pillar and pull it to the side to block the path for the shield.

Go back down and pull the shield to the right. He will get stuck in the middle, because the column you moved blocks his way. The gate is now available. Finally, turn the crank to open the gate. Use seal arrows and an ax to freeze one or even two gears. Go through the gate, open the legendary chest, turn around and cut the chain to let Freya in. Use her Seal Arrows to light the brazier on the right to open the norn chest. Burn the thorns and open the treasure chest. Defeat the Traveler Champion, then read the rune at the entrance to complete the quest. Before leaving, climb up the chain and turn around. Jump down to break the floor and find the lost pages.

animal instincts

The request “Animal Instincts” will start automatically after you deal with the raiders in any of the four camps in the territory of the Lake of Nine, in Midgard. All that is needed as part of the mission is to clear the four territories that the raiders have occupied: the Raider Citadel in the south, the Raider Fort in the west, the Raider’s Lair in the east and the Raider Citadel in the center. There should not be any difficulties in terms of destroying the raiders.

As soon as you clear one of these places, markers for the other three will appear on the map. In the open raider camp to the west, look for a treasure map lying on the ground. Before you enter the raiders’ lair, look for another Odin’s raven on the large door outside. And the treasure map you picked up earlier leads to a place between large doors. Inside the lair on the right is a legendary chest, and in the middle is a norn chest. As for the norn chest, on the left side, behind the thorns, is the first brazier. Look for the second behind the ore in the middle of the wall, the third – at the end of the cave at the beginning of the location, as soon as you go down the stairs here. In the last two cases, the brazier is behind the brambles on the left, one behind the ore in the middle, and one at the end of the pit at the entrance. There is a firebomb jar in the center of the lair. Use them to blow up the gold and set the last two braziers on fire.

As soon as you clear the last camp, regardless of the sequence of their visit, you will be attacked by the leader of the raiders, Olaf Nautson.

The fight against Olaf is relatively easy: the enemy doesn’t have much health and uses predictable attacks. In his combo, he uses block break and unblockable weapon swings. There are also unblockable hits and shield hits in which he heals himself. At the beginning of his combos will be short, but as his health drops, the mini-boss will begin to expand them.

Use all your runic attacks, then dodge and counterattack. When he slams the ground or heals himself, you have a great opportunity to deal serious damage to the mini-boss, as he will be vulnerable after that. When his health is low, he will slam the ground twice and then attack with a shield, giving you the opportunity to stun him and deal heavy damage. Once all raider camps have been cleared, return to your wolves to complete the request.

guiding light

Guiding Light is one of the main God of War: Ragnarök side quests available in Midgard, only available after you get to the Lake of Nine in Midgard. A very simple mission, as you don’t have to fight or solve any puzzles during the mission. Just go to the marked places, inspect them and collect parts of the free Guiding Light Armor Set. In addition to the set, you will also add new read runes to your collection.

Your task is to find the fragments of Tyr’s statue that scattered across the Lake after the battle between Kratos and Thor in the first story mission “Survival in Fimbulwinter”. Each wreck will have a blue runic inscription that you need to interact with in order to complete the quest. In addition, at the base of each wreck lies some kind of buried treasure.

Now in order:

  1. The first rune in our guide is Tyr’s left hand. Finding it is quite simple: head to the mystical gate of the Lake of Nine northwest of the Temple of Tyr, not far from Sindri’s workshop. Find the giant stone pillar on the right side of the Mystic Gate and go around it to find Tyr’s statue’s left arm. Examine the base of the arm to read the runic inscription engraved on the gold vambrace. Don’t forget to dig up the buried treasure to get Gauntlets of Guiding Light.
  2. The Right Arm/Brace can be found in the Strands of the Nine, in the northern part of the region. You explored this place while playing as Atreus in the story mission “Old Friends”. Since Atreus did not have the Blades of Chaos, he could not reach this part of Tyr’s statue. As Kratos, return to this area. Head to the Shore of Nine in the northern part of the Lake and find a wide wooden beam that you can jump over. Once done, slip under the stone block to return to the area you visited as Atreus. Pass to the left side and move through the right hand of the Tyr statue. Once on the other side, turn to the right and destroy the thorns using the Blades of Chaos. Read the runic inscription and dig up Guiding Light Guardian’s Belt.
  3. The helmet is easier to find than the rest of Tyr’s statue, as it is in an open area. Check out the northeastern part of the Lake of Nine to find a giant golden helmet lying in the middle of a frozen pool. Read the runic inscription in the inner cavity of the helmet. And again dig up the treasure buried next to the fire inside the helmet. This will give you the Cuirass of Guiding Light.
  4. The fourth and last wreck is located to the east, near the Tower of Worlds bridge and south of the Tower of Jotunheim. The item was buried in a snowdrift. Unlike other locations, instead of some part of the Guiding Light set, the treasure contains 30 whispering slabs and an enchantment for the Essence of Jotunheim amulet (gives +4 Strength, +4 Vitality and +6 Luck).
  5. The full set of armor you will receive during this request is the Tier 5 Guiding Light armor, which is the Tyr armor from God of War (2018).

However, this set has slightly different characteristics, in which the focus is on strength and luck. It has the same protection and power parameters as Lunda’s lost armor (a set that you can get for free in Vanaheim’s River Delta), but instead of runes, in this case, the emphasis is on luck.

Rebellious spirit

At the end of the Blacksmith of Your Destiny story quest, you will be able to trigger the Rebellious Spirit request by speaking to Durlin at the Nidavellir Shore in Svartalfheim after obtaining the Draupnir Spear and completing the storyline. He stands next to the mystical gates. Alternatively, if you didn’t accept his request at the end of the tenth story mission, you can still find Durlin after the game’s storyline in the house of Nidavellir City. Visit the gnome and accept the task. Head to Dragon Beach in Blessed Cove. There are three geysers in this location that need to be frozen to reveal the totems. Destroy them and you will be able to open the norn chest.

There is a rune inscription next to the chest. Climb up the chain and go to the bridge. Crawl under the fallen pillar to find the Yggdrasil Rift. Examine the runes, read them and find the item you need. The hammer is in the chest. Head to the Nidavellir Tavern to speak with Durlin.

Forgotten Treasure

The Forgotten Treasure request can be started by talking to the spirit of an old traveler on the Dragon Coast in Svartalfheim, after obtaining the Draupnir spear in the tenth story quest “Forge Your Own Destiny”.

Climb the bridge and follow it to the Alberich Gorge. Deal with enemies and use incendiary bombs to blow up the ore covering the legendary chest and other deposits of gold blocking the path deep into the location. Deal with additional enemies and kill Odin’s raven sitting on the ledge to the left. Blow up the next deposits, then fight the boss.

This is a rather nimble opponent who constantly jumps and attacks quickly, and at higher difficulty levels, the battle will be very difficult. The boss makes several attacks from a distance; can spit acid, hit with the tongue, break blocks with a jump kick – all this can be dodged or parried. His deadliest attack is his unblockable jumping lunge. This is a very fast attack, but you will have time to dodge right after the red indicator appears on the screen. In this regard, we recommend acting with restraint, from defense, especially when the enemy is at a distance.

Up close, the boss mainly deals a combo of four hits that can be blocked or parried. This is your best chance to retaliate, as you can use a regular block and then dodge or parry in the end, giving you a window to counterattack. When the boss’s health is reduced, he will continue to spray poisonous gas, extending his combos and sometimes unleashing a flurry of devastating hits on the block that are best to dodge.

You can use incendiary bombs to deal damage from a distance, but be careful when using them, as the boss can attack you while the bomb is in the pickup animation. These same bombs can damage Kratos if you get close enough to the blast, so use them while standing away from the boss. If you need to heal with Spartan Valor, hide behind a rock so that the enemy cannot attack you from a distance and the healing is not useless.

Once the boss is dead, climb onto the ledge on the left side of the Yggdrasil Rift. Turn around and throw a firebomb into the hole to destroy the ore. Open the legendary chest. Head right to find the treasure map.

Head north to Alberich Island. There will be a norn chest on the shore, which can be opened by striking three gongs. One is next to the chest, another hangs from the crane on the left side, and the third is behind the fence. You can activate it by throwing the ax at the object to the left of the gong. Use the Spear to go upstairs and talk to the Wandering Spirit.

Go forward and break the green stone on the left using the sonic arrow. After that, kill Odin’s raven hovering over the water. Go down and look at the waterwheel to find a stone that you can destroy with a spear. Climb to the platform to find another gap in Yggdrasil. Turn to the right side and pick up another treasure map. Climb up the ledge to find a crack in the rock through which you can see Odin’s raven.

Use the spear to destroy the stone, then pull the chain and freeze the mechanism with Leviathan. Go back to the platform, freeze the geyser and take the elevator up. Kill the enemies and climb up to find the legendary chest that the wanderer’s spirit was talking about. Return to the Dragon Coast. While you’re here, look on the ground next to the dragon’s skeleton for a buried treasure from one of the cards found earlier. Rise above and talk to the spirit of the oldest wanderer.

night predator

To trigger this request, you must find one of the Wisps in the Plains in Vanaheim at night. In the central part of the Plains, three purple Wisp wander, feeding on dead animals. Find the beasts shrouded in purple haze and pull the Wisp out of them using the Blades of Chaos and the R2 button. After dealing with three lights, go to the marker to fight the Flame Phantom.

Basically, this is the same enemy as the Frost Phantasm you fight during the story. Except that instead of two totems, you need to destroy as many as five. You cannot damage the Phantom in the normal way. Instead, you need to fill his stun gauge, and then destroy 5 totems. To deal damage to an enemy, hit the runestone in the center of the monster, near the head (something like a mask). Instead of melee attacks, we recommend throwing an ax or spears. From time to time, this runestone-mask will flash, and if you attack it while this is happening, the enemy will be stunned. At this point, run up and attack up close. At the same time, the arrows of your companion, Atreus or Freya, cause no less damage, so be sure to use them by clicking on the “square”. None of the Phantom’s attacks pose much of a threat,

While the enemy is stunned, totems will appear and you need to destroy them. You will not have time to destroy all the totems at once. Most likely, you will have to stun the Phantom 3 or even 4 times. All totems will glow purple (when the phantom is stunned). In addition, you cannot destroy more than two totems per phase. Even if you do it quickly, the phantom will wake up ahead of time. After everyone is destroyed, attack the Phantom one last time, and one hit will kill him.

The smell of survival

This request starts automatically when leaving Frey’s camp after completing the main story quest “Beasts of Prophecy”. Head down to the shore and follow Helka’s footprints into Western Barry Woods. Deal with the enemies and use the heavenly altar to open the way further. Follow Helka to the ledge and interact with the wind to teleport to the Crater.

Return of the river

Return of the River will start automatically when you approach the dam in the southwest of Vanaheim Jungle. This is a very important mission, on which the possibility of fulfilling the rest of the requests of this region depends. Head towards the dam, dealing with the gulons. Burn the thorns at the end of the path and take the elevator up. Deal with Seidr and Gulon from above, then examine the rune inscription. Use the spear to cross to the other side. You will see Dreks attacking wild animals. This will begin the In Depth request, described below. Burn the thorns, then kill Nokken and Seidr. Use the crank to raise all the gates. When the water floods the Crater, you can go back and complete the task.

At a depth

Another request that will automatically start when entering the dam in the “Jungle” of Vanaheim, when you see the dredges in the water. You need to burn the thorns, and then kill Nokken and Seidr. Use the hilt to raise the gate and flood the Canyons with the Plains. Use the spear to make a path further and climb up. That is, you need to move as far as possible from the dam, where there used to be water (complete the request “Return of the River”). As soon as you go down the chain, you will run into Dreks.

In fact, you will have to fight against two Dreks, and both use lightning attacks. The first appears immediately, the second – a little later. Since both use lightning, you’re in for one of the most frustrating pole fights in the game. However, if you focus on quickly destroying one of them, everything will be greatly simplified. Use all your runic attacks and companion abilities on the first drake. If there is, you can activate Spartan Wrath. This should be enough to finish off the first Draka, which will drop health and rage crystals to restore the corresponding bars.

Keep attacking the second drake with everything you have. Treat this part of the fight like a normal one-dreck fight. Dodge or block normal attacks, avoid lightning strikes. If the enemy hides in the water after the death of the first Draka, use the spear to attack him and lure him to land.

For Vanaheim!

Side quest “For Vanaheim!” starts automatically when entering Vanaheim Crater, where you will be taken after completing the “Smell of Survival” request. Head west and head north to a cave that leads into the region. Climb the wall and approach the heavenly altar to change day into night. Head to the gate that appears and kill the ogre. Open the gate. Proceed further, ignoring the red chest on the left hand, because there you can be attacked by an optional boss. Make your way through the gap in the wall to face the boss, the Crimson Horror dragon.

The Crimson Horror is a red dragon that uses various attacks both up close and from a distance (spitting fire). He will use an Unblockable Charge attack, often followed by a Block Break. It will also attempt to perform multi-bite combos that can be blocked, parried, or dodged. When up close, the dragon can use an unblockable fire attack, exhaling flames in front of it – dodge backwards to avoid damage. It can also use fire breath, creating a line of flame moving towards you (if you are away from the enemy).

Several times during the battle, the dragon will soar into the air and spew fiery flames, flying over Kratos. It will continue to do this until you knock down the enemy, so use the Draupnir spear and throw it at the head of the monster so that it collapses to the ground. While the enemy is stunned, use melee attacks against him. This stun period is your best opportunity to activate Spartan Wrath, Runic Attacks, and Companion Abilities. That is, try to inflict the most damage on the enemy at this moment, although you can also use all these techniques during normal melee, trying to stun the enemy.

Once you’ve killed the dragon, complete a few QTEs to finish it off. After defeating the dragon, climb the wall at the back of the area to find Birgir. Interact with the Mystic Gates nearby so that Birgir can leave the location.

dead of night

The Dead of Night side quest will automatically start after you enter Draka’s lair in Vanaheim Plains by completing the Return of the River request. Before you can enter Draka’s lair to fight the monster, change the time of day to night. Therefore, go to the nearest heavenly altar and perform this action. Return to the drake’s lair and jump down to face the behemoth.

This Drake uses poison attacks instead of lightning. However, you will only fight against one opponent, which greatly simplifies the battle. The enemy will have slightly more health than a normal dreck, but all of his attacks are basically the same. Except that lightning attacks are replaced with poison strikes. Most of the drek’s attacks are bites or tail swipes that can be dodged or blocked, while poisonous attacks are best dodged to avoid the poison effect. Use Runic Attacks, Companion Abilities, and Spartan Wrath to deal maximum damage in a short amount of time. Don’t forget about Permafrost and Burning if you manage to charge your weapon to deal extra damage and speed up the drek’s stun.

Path of destruction

Path of Destruction is triggered automatically after you pass through a hole in the wall, which leads to huge footprints from the Vanaheim Jungle. This can be done only after the request “Return of the river” is completed. You will need to defeat the ogres and cross the bridge to reach this area. Drop down the hole in the middle of the area. Raise the walls by throwing the ax at the spinning object and then freeze the mechanism before it drops back down.

There is a runic inscription on the wall next to this place. Also look for the legendary Yggdrasil Gem Chest to upgrade the amulet. Before opening the gate, lift the wall and lock it in place. Go outside and lure the Gulons onto this lift platform, then pull the ax so that at least one of the animals is trapped. Pull the chain to lift the gulons to the monster’s lair and lure him out of hiding. Go outside and return to the dragon’s lair, following the path to the left. Defeat the Slagosaurus.

In principle, it is no different from enemies of this type. The same Skalozub. However, this monster is noticeably stronger in terms of health. The enemy deals a lot of damage with any attacks. Can perform a few simple swings, unblockable bites, or tail swipes that are fairly easy to dodge (however, the tail swing has a particularly long delay, so don’t rush to dodge or you’ll still get hit).

He also has a charged attack that can be blocked. And if parried, it will allow you to topple the dragon and inflict serious damage on it. The most dangerous attack he can make is an unblockable strike, during which the dragon throws debris in front of him, so to avoid damage, you need to dodge to the side. When at a distance, the boss can shoot spikes from its tail, which are fairly easy to dodge.

As soon as about half of the maximum health remains, some attacks will become paired. These can be block breaking attacks and, more importantly, a double ground strike (and sometimes a triple when there is a minimum of HP). Since the most dangerous monsters are frontal, it is best to stay on the side and attack the legs to more easily dodge his attacks.

Trembling Gorge

This request can be activated automatically when Kratos hears the tremors while descending from the Jungle to the Wells of Vanaheim. Go through the Wells and open the gate next to the dragon. Kill the enemies on the other side of the abyss, burn the thorns from above and jump further. Crawl through the crack to feel the earth tremble. This is another dragon Puffer.

The Puffer deals heavy damage, but many attacks have a delay. Can use normal swings, unblockable bites, and tail swipes, which are easy to dodge due to that very delay (although the delay before the tail swipe is longer, so don’t rush to dodge, otherwise you will still get hit anyway).

There is also a charged attack, and you can block or parry it. In the second case, the dragon may fall to the ground, and you can attack it. The most dangerous attack he can perform is an unblockable strike that causes the dragon to throw debris in front of him, so you must dodge to the side to avoid damage. At a distance, it can shoot spikes from its tail, and again you have to dodge.

As soon as about half of the maximum health remains, some attacks will become paired. These can be block breaking attacks and, more importantly, a double ground strike (and sometimes a triple when there is a minimum of HP). Since the most dangerous monsters are frontal, it is best to stay on the side and attack the legs to more easily dodge his attacks.

burning skies

Burning Skies is another side quest that starts automatically after encountering the dragon found in Vanaheim Wells and destroying two pillars. Before you can get to the dragon’s lair, you first need to return the water to the Crater by completing the “Return of the River” request. Once you’ve done that, board the boat near the mystical gate in the Wells.

Swim to the right and moor the boat near the heavenly altar. Open the gate and return to the boat. Swim to the next pier where you can open the gate to continue forward. Kill the draugr, throw your spear at vulnerable points in the rock, remembering to hide from the fiery flames.

Keep going to the ledge, climb up to find another weak point that can be broken with a spear, destroying the wall. Climb up and before you can open the norn chest, you will be attacked by a surprise boss, Untamed Fury. This is not a full boss fight, as the enemy will disappear after a few hits (no requests are associated with it, although you can hunt down Fury and kill it for the achievement and resources). Once she escapes, throw a spear at three totems in the area to open a norn chest. Climb the wall to fight the quest boss, Ash Tyrant.

Ash Tyrant is a white dragon that uses various attacks up close and attacks with fire from a distance. This dragon is unique compared to the others in that it uses a different mechanic. After making several melee attacks, the enemy will mostly attack with fire. When the dragon tries to breathe fire, a weak spot appears on its neck, which, when attacked with a spear or ax, stuns the enemy for a moment, allowing you to deal heavy damage.

At certain points in the fight, the dragon will fly away and land on one of the pillars in the region, spawning draugrs and wyverns. You need to defeat the mob enemies (or lure them under the dragon’s fiery flames), after which you can destroy the column on which the dragon stands. From time to time the dragon takes off and falls down, but you cannot force it to collapse, as is the case with the same Crimson Horror. Dodge the fire and deal with the Draugr/Wyverns and this fight won’t be a problem. Once you’ve depleted the dragon’s HP, complete a few QTEs to finally kill it.

In everyone’s sight

This side quest will start automatically after interacting with the corpse of any animal in the Plains of Vanaheim. You don’t even have to complete the “Return of the River” request, since the water in the Crater is not needed to complete this mission. Move north to find another corpse near the next hill. Behind the water there will be another corpse. Near the water there is a pile of stones covered with runes. Attack them to awaken the Soul Eater.

The fight against the Devourer is similar to the fight against the Ancient Woodsman that you fought outside of Frey’s Camp in the game’s story. 3 except that Soul Eater will spray an ice beam whenever it opens a core in its chest. It can also ice around itself if you are close to an enemy. Wait for the enemy to open the core, and throw an ax or hammer there. Pick up the dropped white orb and do the same to deal deafening damage to the boss. Then attack up close. It will take two phases to destroy the Devourer, so repeat the process. You will not be disturbed by ordinary opponents, but if you have not yet killed the Crimson Horror (dragon), he may join the battle, so beware of the fiery flames.

Victim of War: Toy

The quest begins with you picking up half of the toy on the shore in the Jungle after the Crater is flooded, completing the “Return of the River” request. The other half of the toy can be found in the “Jungle”, where two ogres are fighting, right by the bridge.

Victim of War: Mug

This request will start after you pick up the half ale mug after entering the dam in Vanaheim Jungle. Look for the other half in the drek’s lair in the Plains. You will have to kill Dreks to gain access to the item. This can be done as part of the Dead of Night request.

Victim of war: brooch

The side quest will start after you pick up half of the brooch in Vanaheim Plains. The other half can be found south of the sky altar in the Eastern Plains, behind the breach. Before you can pick up half of the brooch, you will have to kill Egil, the Guardian of the Oath.

Egil uses many heavy attacks, most of which are either block breaks or unblockables. For the most part, you can dodge them, but you still need to be careful as the enemy’s attacks are quite fast. From time to time, the enemy will crash into the ground, throwing out ice splashes, and you need to block the blow, otherwise you risk taking significant damage.

Stunning the enemy is tricky, so the best way to deal with them is to use a combo of Runic Attacks, Companion abilities, and Spartan Wrath to inflict a stun for a while and deal some serious damage. When your abilities are on cooldown, dodge and retaliate for fear of ice attacks. Once he is dead, pick up the other half of the brooch.

Victim of War: Hourglass

The next request in this series will begin after you pick up half the hourglass in Vanaheim Wells. Just outside the gate that you can lower. The second half of the hourglass can be found on the way to the dragon Ash Tyrant, that is, the quest “Return of the River” must first be completed. This part can be found during the Burning Skies request described earlier.

Victim of War Scroll

The last part of this questline begins by picking up half of the scroll in a cave in the Plains of Vanaheim. Return through the cave and move to the southern cliff where you can throw the Draupnir spear. Follow through the cave again and climb the wall to where the heavenly altar is located. Look at the ledge to see another place in the rock where you can throw a spear. Destroy the wall and go to the area where the second half of the scroll lies.

trail of the dead

The request is automatically triggered when Kratos sees the dragon in the jungle of Vanaheim after completing the side quest “Return of the River”. Follow down the river, ignoring the first bank on the right side. Swim past high platforms. Go through the small tunnel to the east to find a new wharf. Move through the gap to face two ogres who were probably throwing rocks at you earlier. Defeat both and one of the ogres will be attacked by a dragon. Odin’s raven sits above the red chest.

Cross the bridge during the day until you can re-board the boat. Head to the shore you missed earlier. Deal with the welva (and other enemies, optionally open a norn chest. You need to destroy three totems: one next to the chest, another on the wall with a sky altar, and the last one behind the thorns next to the wall you can climb. Climb up and climb the walls use the arrows of the seal and blades of chaos to burn the thorns and then move on you will find the legendary chest keep going and you can climb the wall provided you have already killed the ogres go upstairs and fight the dragon, Devourer corpses.

The Corpse Eater is a blue dragon that uses many melee attacks as well as ice attacks from a distance. It also often uses blockable/unblockable bites that need to be dodged. It can also grab you, in which case you will have to click on the “circle” several times. But most importantly, he will use ice attacks, including an ice beam across the entire arena or throwing a few icicles that you need to dodge to the side.

Several times during the fight, the dragon will fly into the air and either attack with ice breath or hit the area. When it rushes towards you to perform any of these attacks, throw it at it so that the beast collapses to the ground so you can deal damage to it. This stun period is your best opportunity to use Spartan Wrath, Runic Attacks, and Companion Abilities. Eventually the dragon will grab you and throw you into the air, at which point attack it with R2 until Kratos knocks you back into the arena. Once you’ve depleted the dragon’s health, perform a few QTEs to finish off the monster.

Elven Sanctuary

To open this location and start the quest, you need to talk to the elves Beyla and Bigvir in Freyr’s camp after you return there after completing the “Payback” story mission. Travel to the Plains of Alfheim and interact with the rune castle to the west to open the gate. Go to the new location “Forbidden Sands” and follow the marker to the elven sanctuary in the northeast. Climb to the entrance and pick up the artifact. Go inside the sanctuary.

Upon entering the library, you will see a rune inscription, a scroll and lost pages lying on the tables in front of you. Climb up the left side to find another legend. Follow above and look for a treasure map on the shelf on the right side. Nearby there is a legendary chest. Finally, pick up a book from the stand. Try to leave for the boss fight to start.

The enemy uses roughly the same technique as Alva from the Temple of Light, but is more aggressive and deals more damage. Her attacks consist of long combos ending in an unblockable hit. Dodge and counterattack. It can also use unblockable ranged attacks followed by two block breaks with a weapon throw. It’s not easy to dodge. And if you miss one of the hits, you won’t be able to quickly recover to dodge the rest of the boss’s attacks. The most effective way to deal with these attacks is to parry. If you decide to parry the opponent’s blows, keep in mind that you can only stun the boss by parrying the last blow. You will have to parry 2-3 attacks in a row. In my opinion, this is much better than dodges, and you will get a good opportunity for your own attacks after the boss is stunned.

It can also attack with a shield, dealing damage across the area, so it’s imperative that you counterattack the boss using a shield strike (double tap L1) to stun the enemy and avoid damage. Stay close to her so that the warrior cannot use such an attack, and you can counter her in any scenario.

There will be no health crystals, and no control points, so I highly recommend using Spartan Valor for healing. The boss acts aggressively, so there will be few opportunities for healing. Therefore, if you need to heal, you will have to stun the boss and use valor instead. Don’t forget to use runic attacks and companion abilities to deal extra damage and stun the enemy. After defeating the boss, leave the Elven Sanctuary.

Song of the Sands

The mission will start automatically after you reach the Forbidden Sands location in Alfheim, which can be accessed after the Reckoning story mission. You can read the previous post. Move north to the cave and go down. Break the green stone with the sonic arrow and hang onto the right wall.

Keep moving deeper until you reach a hive that can be destroyed by throwing an axe. Destroy the nest and keep moving. Deal with all the enemies and read the wall rune inscription. Go downstairs and clear another matter.

Clear another room of light elves, then climb the wall. Before you continue, turn around and throw your ax to destroy matter, then climb the wall to find the legendary chest. Go to the next area and drop down to clear the hive, and then go to the hafguf.

Break matter and cross the abyss. Use the sonic arrows and the ax to cut through the first three clots. Return to the previous location to clear the second ones, then return to destroy the third set. Go into the new opening, kill the bergsra and pick up the artifact. Open the legendary chest. Climb up and use the twilight stones to destroy the red matter. Get to the surface and go west to destroy the cage and free the hafhugu.

In Freira

Freyr’s Gift will start automatically after you approach the Statue of Freyr in the northwest of Alfheim’s Forbidden Sands, which can be accessed after completing the main quest “Reckoning”. Climb up the ramp on the right side and destroy the hive. Go back down and use the sonic arrows to open the door and destroy the matter.

Follow the path to pick up a light crystal, then go up the right ramp and place it in the open slot. Go under the left light bridge and remove the crystal, then break the matter. Put the crystal back, go under the light bridge you crossed earlier to enter the area and pick up the light crystal. Take it and place it in another slot. Go downstairs and pick up Freyr’s Gift. Read the rune inscription.

Desert door

The quest starts automatically after you pick up the first half of the key in the Forbidden Sands of Alfheim. Access to this place can be obtained, for example, after completing the request “Gift of Frey”. Examine the blue circles scattered throughout the desert to find resources and two halves of a key. Head north to the locked door and get ready to fight the boss that will attack you as soon as the door is opened.

This is another huge monster that deals significant damage, although many of the attacks have a delay in deploying.

Take your time during combat, as being too aggressive can result in you not being able to dodge or block in time, and such a mistake is tantamount to death. There will be no health or rage crystals in this battle, so use Spartan Valor. Once the monster is dead, you can take the loot.

Crucible / Final Trials

In God of War: Ragnarök, there are 15 different challenges in the Muspelheim Crucible. Completing all trials will unlock the Trial by Fire achievement. These trials are connected to two requests at once – “Crucible” and “Final Trials”. To get to Muspelheim, first find the two halves of the seed of this world, which are hidden in four different legendary chests (when you find two parts, the remaining two chests will only contain resources). Look for the halves at Modwitnir’s Machine (Svartalfheim), Alberich’s Gorge (Svartalfheim), Freyr’s Camp (Vanaheim) and Burning Rocks (Muspelheim).

Previously, only half of Muspelheim’s seed can be found in the legendary chest on the Modwitnir Machine in Svartalfheim. The request “Crucible” will start automatically after you pick up the first part of the seed.

The second part of Muspelheim’s seed can be found in Alberich’s Gorge in Svartalfheim, accessed from the Dragonshore. This will require the Draupnir spear, available during the main quest “The Smith of Your Destiny”. Climb the golden chain in the Dragon Coast, throw your spear into the wind hole on the wall to reach Alberich’s Gorge. Once there, look for the half seed inside a legendary chest, which can be accessed by using firebombs to smash the gold deposits.

There is also a third spawn location for the Muspelheim Seed, in an unmissable legendary chest. Search under the mystic gates in Burning Rocks. If you have already found two halves of the seed, there will be divine ashes in the chest instead. If you find half of the seed here, the ashes will be in other chests. The fourth spawn location for half of Muspelheim’s seed is Frey’s Camp (Legendary Chest).

Once you have the complete Muspelheim Seed, you can travel to Muspelheim through any Mystic Gate. There is a Norn Chest in the middle of the arena, but you need to complete 6 Crucible Challenges to open it.

There are 3 swords in this area, interacting with each of them can activate 2 challenges. After completing each challenge, you will be rewarded with a legendary chest. The first chest for each sword will give you a piece of the Unquenchable Flame armor set. The remaining chests contain divine ashes. Take the northern path to the first sword for the first two challenges.

  • Challenge #1 – Weapon Mastery: This is a fairly simple challenge that will require you to kill 16 enemies in 180 seconds. Each enemy has a shield, so be sure to use the ax on the opponents with the orange scale and the Blades of Chaos with the blue one. At the end, a nokke will appear, which heals the rest of the opponents, so kill him first.
  • Challenge #2 – Flawless: This challenge requires you to defeat 15 enemies without taking any damage. Most of these enemies either explode on death or attack from a distance, so you need to use a spear or an ax to attack them from a distance. At the end of the battle, there will be a powerful opponent who will rush at you. Be sure to block or dodge such attacks and keep attacking from a distance to avoid melee damage. Use your companion’s abilities to deal with opponents.
  • Challenge #3 – Challenge Challenge: This challenge requires you to defeat a total of 21 enemies that quickly regenerate health. Because of this, the main way to do this is to push opponents into lava pits. It is best to use Leviathan skills called Serpent Trap and Fury of Leviathan. Both attacks knock enemies back, so by placing them in the right place, you can push the mobs straight into the pit. You can also throw an ax at your feet to knock down opponents, then kick at R2 if Kratos does not have an ax.
  • Challenge #4 – Rift: In this challenge, you need to kill enemies to get an orb, and then throw them into the central gap. There will be two waves: the first lasts 60 seconds and requires 6 hits, and the second is 150 seconds and 15 hits. Orbs dropped by normal enemies cost 1 hit each. And spheres knocked out from larger mobs – 2 hits each. Pretty simple: keep killing them and picking up orbs to throw them into the gap. Don’t forget to fire sonic arrows at the Wisps to make them vulnerable.
  • Challenge #5 – Control: The first challenge on the far right room requires destroying the bergsra so that the number of enemies does not exceed four. Kill the first normal mobs that appear on the other side, after which the main enemy will come out. Focus on him, and you can kill before there are more than four enemies. If anyone appears near the bergsra, be sure to kill them to reduce their total number.
  • Challenge #6 – King of the Hill: The second challenge has to do with keeping the highlighted positions clear of enemies. There will be three waves in total. Each wave increases the required time as well as the number of rings. The first wave contains one ring, and you need to hold out ~35 seconds, the second – 2 rings and ~60 seconds, the third – 3 rings and ~90 seconds. The best way to do this is to focus on the enemies that are currently inside the rings and take them out as soon as possible using runic area attacks (if there are more than one in the same ring). Use the spear to attack enemies from a distance.

After completing 6 trials, you will complete the Crucible request. Return to the norn chest to get the Flame of Chaos.

Complete 9 final challenges

The final trials begin when interacting with the central sword in Muspelheim, after completing the Crucible request and opening the norn chest. Each sword room will have one new Tier 3 challenge. These are the first three tests of the last nine. As for the rest, an interesting scheme is used to activate them. The last six trials must be started with a sword from the main arena, and which trial starts depends on which of the three swords in the three rooms you activate.

There are three rooms in total – left, right and middle. The final challenges require activating two swords in succession from different rooms, and it even matters which sword you activate first. To activate the sword in one of the rooms, you need to complete any of the three available challenges.

The scheme is this:

  • Left and center rooms – endurance test
  • Right and Center Rooms – Boss Challenge
  • Left and Right Rooms – Shield Breaker Challenge
  • Right and Left Rooms – Ghosts
  • Center and Left Rooms – Trial “Ring of Fire”
  • Center and Right Rooms – Onslaught Challenge

That is, after activating two swords, you need to sequentially go to the central arena and run one of the six final tests. But first, about three new challenges in different rooms…

  • Challenge #7 – Rampage: This challenge requires you to kill at least 20 enemies within 150 seconds. Nothing special. Just kill the enemies as fast as possible. At certain points, a troll and a bergsra will appear, but they can even be completely ignored by killing weaker enemies in order to complete the task faster.
  • Challenge #8 – Health Steal: In this challenge, you take constant damage, but heal when you attack mobs. You need to kill 22 enemies. No special tactics are required. Just kill the enemies as soon as possible and easily keep your health high. Toward the end of the battle, nokke will appear, which must be killed first.
  • Now that you’ve completed the challenge on Sword 1 (left) and Sword 2 (middle), return to the center sword for an endurance challenge.
  • Challenge #9: To complete it, you need to kill enemies, increasing the timer. You will start with 30 seconds and have to kill 22 enemies. Killing enemies adds 5-10 seconds to the timer depending on the type of mob. Focus on enemies in range and don’t touch small mobs to use them when emergency time replenishment is needed. No special tactics are required, just kill the enemies as soon as possible.
  • Challenge #10 – Endurance Challenge: To complete the first of the 6 final challenges, kill 99 enemies without dying. Basically, ordinary mobs are waiting for you, but there will be elite opponents. The biggest problem is health. Use equipment/abilities that allow you to heal. For example, “The Best Armor of Nidavelyrr”, restoring spells and “Spartan prowess”. A very long test, but as long as you act academically and use your abilities, there will be no problems.
  • Challenge #11 – Boss Challenge: Kill 5 elite enemies that spawn one at a time. You have to fight the Traveler, the Savage Hunter, the Dark Elf Lord, the Light Elf Warrior and the Einherja Brute. These are the same enemies you may encounter in the story, so use the same tactics. The only health crystals will only drop after each boss is destroyed.
  • Challenge #12 – Shield Breaker Challenge. In this challenge, you will have to defeat ordinary enemies before attacking the elite. At first, it will be the Champion of the Einherjar, and when he is defeated, the Hunter will appear. Normal enemies spawn in groups of 3-4 mobs, so kill them quickly and then fight the elite until the boss becomes invulnerable again. Repeat actions.
  • Challenge #13 – Ghost Challenge: In this challenge, you will face a Flame Phantasm. Like other phantoms in the game, you need to increase its stun bar by hitting the rune in the “head” area, and this is best done with ranged attacks. Once the enemy is stunned, three totems will appear that you must destroy. Ignore normal mobs and attack the totems. When you destroy the pillars, finish off the Phantom.
  • Trial #14 – Trial “Ring of Fire”. In this challenge, you need to defeat 15 enemies while staying inside the circle. The circle is the only safe zone, and if you enter the lava outside it, you will take a lot of damage. The circle periodically moves around the arena, so it is best to fight with ranged attacks. And there is also a poisonous totem at the location, to which the circle will move sooner or later, so do not forget to freeze it with your ax.
  • Challenge #15 – Onslaught Challenge. In this challenge, you need to hold out for 300 seconds, fighting an endless stream of opponents. There is also a ring, as in the challenge above. Stay inside the ring and kill enemies as needed. If health crystals appear outside the ring, it is worth running out to pick them up, since the effect of the healing will be higher than the damage from the lava. As with the endurance challenge, using gear/abilities that restore health is the best thing you can think of when preparing for battle.

When you complete all 15 trials at once, the “Final Trials” request will end.

matter of honor

To start this quest, you must complete all 15 Crucible Challenges and their accompanying Crucible and Final Trials requests. The quest will begin strictly after the passage of the plot of the game. To the east of the central area, a piece of Asgard has appeared in the Crucible, which you can approach. Pick up an item in the middle of it to start a side quest. The leader of the Valkyries Gna will appear on the arena, but before attacking her, you can prepare in advance.

  • Recommended Gear: Stonewall Shield, Expedition Shield Upgrades, Berserker Armor Set, 3 Niflheim Enchantment, 3 Muspelheim Enchantment, Celestial Panacea, Greater Regenerating Essence, Emblem of Illusion, Weapon of the Nine Realms for whichever weapon you prefer enjoy.
  • Recommended Abilities: Njord’s Storm, Ivaldi’s Anvil, Hades’ Vengeance, Taming the Beast, Thousand Soldier Strike, Honor of the Fallen, Skofnung’s Hilt, Spartan Wrath.

You can fight against Gna strictly after the end of the game. She can be found in the Furnace of Muspelheim, in the ruins of Asgard. Gna is the hardest boss in the game. She attacks quickly and you will have very small dodge/block/parry windows. The Valkyrie can attack very quickly, with little or no downtime. Although she is stronger than King Hrolf, she still has less health. Therefore, instead of a battle of attrition, you get a battle in which it is extremely important to learn how to counter every move of the enemy.

The above equipment and abilities are what specifically worked best for me on No Mercy difficulty. Note that this loadout uses Skofnung’s Hilt, which you get when you kill King Hrolf, so if you don’t have it, the strategy will be different. With this gear, you will be able to regenerate all your abilities faster, get extra help with dodges, and be able to deal significant damage.

Gn has a lot of attacks, but the most important of them are those that are accompanied by a description through subtitles. Be sure to turn on subtitles in the settings to recognize what the next attack will be, even if you can’t figure it out from the boss’s movement.

“For Asgard!” – Gna will jump high into the air and crash down on you, dealing heavy damage. This happens very quickly and can last up to three times in a row, so as soon as you hear / see the phrase “For Asgard!”, You need to dodge. And be prepared to do it three times. Once Gna drops below half health, she can jump with a slight delay, staying in the air for a longer time before crashing down. Usually, if this happens, you can dodge the first fall twice, and if there are repeated ones, wait a second before dodging and avoiding damage.

“On knees!” – Gna will jump into the air and slam his heel into the spot where you are standing, dealing high damage and freezing Kratos. The attack is unblockable, so wait a bit and then dodge. If you dodge at the moment when you hear the phrase “On your knees!”, You risk still missing a blow. It usually follows several block breaking attacks, with ground slamming and rock throwing.

“Bath in the fire!” – Gna will start a fire above her and you have to shoot her with seal arrows (purple) to interrupt the attack. If you don’t stop her, you’ll take significant damage and burst into flames. Hitting it with seal arrows will burn and stun the enemy, allowing for a counterattack.

“Get up, get up!” – Gna will take a boulder and try to throw it at you. Again you need to shoot, but this time with sonic arrows to interrupt the attack. If you do not stop the boss with arrows, you will take significant damage. Shooting a sonic arrow will stun her and you can land a couple of your own hits.

“You have the blood of Asgard on you!” – One of Gn’s shock attacks that charges up with lightning and then hits a huge area in the arena. If you are close to her, you can hit with a shield (twice pressing L1) and counterattack. If you are standing far from the boss, dodge back from the danger zone, and then throw charged spears at Gn.

Her other attacks contain the rain of Bifrost in a straight line, which must be dodged. She usually then dodges to the side and dashes to perform one of three attacks: a squalling wing-flap attack, a feint followed by an unblockable strike, or a very fast unblockable stab attack. If you see an unblockable attack, quickly dodge to the right to avoid damage. It is difficult to dodge such an attack, since the red ring indicating it appears at the very last moment. Try to dodge to the right of all these attacks. Each time Gna dodges, perform one of the three indicated attacks.

She will also throw Bifrost Feathers – normal horizontally that you need to block, or vertically unblockable that you have to dodge. This will happen twice in a row and can be any combo from the options listed. Usually after that, you need to dodge another move, or she will try to break through the block by swinging her weapon twice. This is where the stonewall shield comes in handy, as you can block both of these attacks without breaking it (if you can’t parry effectively). And you can counterattack.

It is best to start the fight with the Spartan Wrath attack, while simultaneously using Freya’s abilities. Immediately use Skofnung’s Hilt, then 3-4 runic attacks while Gna is stunned. Depending on how quickly she came to her senses, there might simply not be enough time for the fourth attack. But if you manage to land all four, you can easily mow down two health bars on No Mercy difficulty. After this initial onslaught, be more careful and only attack when she’s vulnerable to her own attacks. Take your time. The only moment when you can act aggressively is when the Skofnung’s Handle is available to you, at which point you can use all your abilities again. Whenever Permafrost or another element on a weapon equipped with the Nine Realms trinket is charged, you can use the L1 attack and “triangle” to temporarily slow down time and land multiple hits, dealing higher damage. Gna will drop health crystals throughout the fight, and with the Essence Regenerate enchantment, you’ll regenerate even more health. However, some of her attacks can result in a quick death on No Mercy difficulty, so they should be avoided. Once her health is depleted, finish off the boss by pressing R3.

Through the worlds

Another God of War: Ragnarök side quest, which can be obtained by exploring the Lake of Nine in Midgard. To complete it, you will have to find four ingredients scattered across different Scandinavian worlds. It’s not so obvious from the very beginning, but your reward for completing the quest is food, which permanently increases all of Kratos’ stats.

After you start the task, you will need to find four items from different worlds (one for each). Luckily, there are a few clues to help you know you’re in the right place, although there are two places you won’t be able to visit until you get to certain story events.

Where to find the recipe book and how to start a request

First you need to visit the eternal bonfire in Midgard, on the Lake of Nine. It is there that you can find a recipe book, this task begins with taking. It is located at the Eternal Bonfire in the northeastern part of the Lake of Nine, not far from the King’s Tomb and the Raiders’ Den. Climb up the hill to the “Tomb of the King”, at the top turn left and you will see a rock ahead. Approach the cliff, dismount and jump to the top. Walk forward to find a strange rainbow bonfire. There is a recipe book lying next to him: pick it up to start the quest.

Each of the four ingredients needed to prepare the dish is located in a different area: three of them you can access immediately, but the fourth will not be available until you advance through the story to certain points. In any case, the places where you can find each ingredient contain wall paintings of a large heart.

Find the northern gourd (Midgard)

  • Location: Midgard, Eternal Bonfire

Northern Gourd is the first ingredient you can find in the game. Fortunately, it is located near the place where you picked up the recipe book. From the rainbow bonfire head east, climb to the top of the cliff to see a yellow heart depicted on the wall on the left side. Move in this direction to find a pumpkin in the snow that glows yellow.

Find Elfhead (Alfheim)

  • Location: Alfheim, Forbidden Sands

Elfhead, unsurprisingly, is located in Alfheim. Specifically, you can find it in the Forbidden Sands, the northwestern part of the desert, which can be accessed from the Plains. It is highly recommended that you enter the Burrows and complete the “Song of the Sands” request to get rid of the sandstorm in this location and make navigation easier.

In any case, head to the western part of the Forbidden Sands, where there is a giant stone arch. If you have already been to this location, you could find one of the norn chests in this place. Look for the red heart depicted on the left side of the fallen pillar. Crawl under the pillar, look to the right to see an elfhead lying in the sand – between the norn chest and one of the braziers associated with it.

Find Forkfruit (Svartalfheim)

  • Requirement: Complete the story quest “The Smith of Your Destiny”
  • Location: Svartalfheim, Forge

This ingredient can be found in the forge of Svartalfheim. When they moved through this place according to the plot of the game “Search for Tyr”, they could not pick up the item. Moreover, the task could not be active in any way. After Kratos and Atreus got to the Mines of Yarnsmida, they lost access to the cart. Therefore, you will not be able to return to this area and pick up the forkfruit until you complete the request of the Smith of Your Destiny to return access to the minecart.

You can return to the forge on the trolley from the side of the wharf with Durlin’s workplace, passing by and through the gate. In the same way as they moved here on the assignment “Search for Tyr.” Once you’re back upstairs, head into the labyrinth north of the train station. Find the turquoise heart depicted on the stone and move towards the norn chest. Forkfruit is to the left of this chest.

Find the Bentham melon

  • Requirement: Complete the story quest “Beasts of Prophecy” and the “Return of the River” request.
  • Location: Vanaheim, Wells

The last ingredient you need to pick up is in Vanaheim, but you will need to meet a number of conditions to get it. First, you must complete the “Beasts of Prophecy” story mission. Once you’ve done that, get the “Smell of Survival” request. Again, complete it to enter the northern regions of Vanaheim, which cannot otherwise be accessed. Once there, move into the Jungle in the south, go southwest (maybe my memory is wrong) to find a large entrance to the dam. Repair it as part of the Return of the River auto-activated request to unlock new areas.

In addition, you must open the gate that gives access to the southeastern part of the Wells, where the flower is located. To do this, go to the mystical gate at the entrance to the Wells and swim through the tunnel along the pond. After scaring away the dragon (if you got here for the first time) from the central platform, go further and pull the chain to lower the gate.

Once you’ve done that, return to the mystic gate, cross the river, get into the boat and swim towards the circular area where the dragon attacked you for the first time. Near the heavenly altar there is a pier. Use it, go to the northeast and pull the chain to lower another gate. Jump forward across the chasm, turn left and jump across the river to find the Bentham Melon!

As soon as you find all four ingredients, return to Midgard through the mystical gates (the ones at the “Tomb of the King”, closer to the Eternal Bonfire). Follow the bonfire and interact with the cauldron on the left side of it to cook the Solace Dinner, gain experience points and other resources! Solace Dinner is a unique resource that cannot be sold or used. Obtaining it will permanently increase all of Kratos’ stats (Strength, Defense, Runic Skills, Vitality, Cooldown and Luck) by 5 each.

“Viking’s Funeral” can be started by talking to Lunda at any of Sindri’s and Brok’s blacksmith shops after completing the story. Go to Rab’s Tavern in Nidavellir and interact with Brock. Travel to the Sands of Sverd. You can get there either through the ferry in the swamps of Aurvanga, or if you received the seeds of Yggdrasil from Ratatoskr and you can use other gates. Re-interact with Brock.

Garden for the Dead

Garden for the Dead is one of the many favors you can obtain and complete in Vanaheim. During this side quest, you help the spirit of Astrid get rid of the poison that destroyed the garden. Once you’re free to explore Vanaheim, head to the region called Noathun’s Garden. The first time you get there, the area will be full of enemies, so proceed with caution. After the enemies are defeated, you can find Astrid’s spirit outside one of the buildings. Talk to her and Freya will ask Kratos to help remove the poison from the region.

To do this, you need to destroy three poisonous totems:

  1. The first totem is in the building to the right of Astrid’s spirit. You need to go around it to pick up the incendiary bomb hidden behind the rocks.
  2. The second totem is in the building to the left of the spirit. To destroy it, you need to climb the wall and get to the roof. From here, look at the building where the second totem is located and throw the ax at the explosive chain.
  3. The third and final totem is inside the building behind Astrid’s spirit. To destroy it, go around the building until you find a gap between the walls, which you can use to throw an ax at the incendiary jar.

After destroying the last totem, talk to Astrid’s spirit again to complete the request.

Ruined prison

The Ruined Prison will start automatically after you complete the main storyline, return to Niflheim, and cross the newly spawned bridge next to the Raven Tree. Go inside the prison and deal with the Einherjars. Descend below using the Draupnir Spear. Pull the chain to lower the beam and descend to another level. Head into the broken corner room to reach a locked room with a norn chest.

Next to it is a seal that can be broken. There is a gate, opening which will take you to the previous area. Go back down and in the prison cell with the dark elf find the second seal. Pull the chain on this floor to raise the second rod and throw a spear at it. Push both rods down to access the bottom tier. Deal with the einherchers again, and look for the last seal from the norn chest in the middle of the floor. Open the gate to start a conversation.

Once you’re done, climb back up to the prison by moving both bars up. Open the norn chest, go to the legendary chest, and pick up the relic from the floor.
