XCOM: Chimera Squad – guide and walkthrough

Detailed walkthrough of all plot operations, as well as tips and tricks on game mechanics of the new XCOM

XCOM: Chimera Squad is significantly different from previous games in the series, so we decided to put together a guide that will help you complete the storyline campaign of the game.

Operation Despotic Gathering

Before starting a new game, you can choose the difficulty level and other settings. I recommend leaving Training activated and adding Subtitles and Full Health Regeneration to it between battles. You will be introduced to the basic functions. There are 3 fighters available in this task – Cherub, Godmother and Terminal. There are three cells in the upper left – they allow you to assign fighters to the selected entry point during the infiltration mode. Moreover, if the enemy does not suspect anything, then you will ambush him.

Place three fighters and click on “Assault”. You will see how the first fighter aims at the enemy. You can switch between targets using TAB or Left Shift. In the window that opens, the probability of hit is shown at the bottom right. Now it will be 100% everywhere. Please note that the overall likelihood depends on several factors described below.

Kill three enemies in infiltrate mode and finish off the other two. A number is indicated above the heads of all characters on the battlefield – this is the sequence of moves. Now you have two modes available – normal shooting and observation (key “2”). In observation mode, you set up a zone, and if any enemy moves through it, then your character shoots at him. In this case, your character will not shoot if the enemy is already in the zone and shoots without moving. Use RMB (not LMB) to move. The blue area is a movement that consumes 1 action point, the yellow area – 2 action points. After the victory, you will meet a new fighter – Verge .

Clear two more rooms using the abilities of the heroes (described above). Before entering the third battle, you will need to establish a charge. Only Verge has explosives, so place him in the first slot. The Cherubim will also be severely wounded. Each of the heroes will be able to stop his bleeding (the ability “Stabilization” will appear). But after that, the ally will still not be able to continue the battle. The rest is simple. At the end of the assignment, you will find out your rating. The less injuries your characters receive, the higher the score will be.

Read the job types carefully. You can click on the “question mark” in the lower left corner of the screen. This will open a menu containing several sections with useful information. Study it. To end the day, click on the “City Map” in the upper right and select the critical mission.

You will learn that the bomb was created from components that representatives of three criminal groups could have access to. Choose which one to investigate. In the future, you will still have to deal with each group.

Combat tips

Each fighter has 2 action points (hereinafter – AP). Usually (but not always) yellow actions do not consume any MP. All others, including shooting, consume 1 AP. However, it should be understood that shooting (like some other actions) leads to a complete end of the turn, even if you have 1 more MP left. Therefore, it is important to read the descriptions of unlocked skills.

By default, your heroes have no ranks. As you get experience points, you will pump characters and unlock new ranks. There are five levels in total. The first, third and fifth have one new ability, the second and fourth have two. That is, in the case of the second and fourth rank, you can choose one of the two skills. After that, all skills automatically appear on the character’s action panel. Some skills are used during combat, but there are several skills that are activated only during an assault (that is, when entering a level).

The heroes have common skills. In addition to shooting and reloading, this is Teamwork. But at the same time, “Teamwork” is a skill that is common to everyone. That is, if one character used it, then it will cease to be available to others. Also the general skill is “Preparation”. You can use it when you feel like you can’t do anything better than stay put and increase your character’s defense. Another skill is Observation. You choose the area that your hero will guard. After that, if the enemy runs through it, the hero will instantly shoot at him. Finally, Retention is an extremely useful general skill. It allows for a melee attack. Hitting an enemy will damage him. And if this damage is “fatal”, then in this case the enemy will not die, but instead will lose consciousness. Opponents,

Faction 1 – Descendants

A network of people with psionic abilities throughout the city. They are confident that the future belongs to telepaths, and do not want to reckon with the opinion of the inhabitants of City-31 on this issue.

Before starting the first investigation, go to the assembly facility and activate the Androids in personnel research. An elerium is needed for such research. After conducting research, you will receive a reward and the opportunity to order new units, weapons or equipment. The exploration window shows the amount of elerium required and the number of days to complete. So, for the technology “Androids in personnel” you need 10 eleria (“lightning”) and 2 days.

Then open the Armory and select a new agent:

As you progress through the game, you will be able to unlock all the proposed agents. It’s just that now you choose who to receive earlier and who later. Similar to investigations directed against a specific faction. Here you can also click on any agent to explore the available tabs. In “Equipment” you can change the equipment of the hero. The agent’s abilities will unlock as you get new titles. Such increases can be earned solely through the experience points gained while completing tasks.

Open “Warehouse”. Here you can order weapons, equipment and auxiliary items. You will have to pay for them with loans. Study things carefully as many of them will be beneficial. The explosive charge will allow to detonate additional points of penetration, the keycard will open locked automatic doors, and so on.

Operation “Mor Tron”

Open the city map and send the APC on the task “Investigate the actions of the Descendants.” All key missions related to the investigation will be highlighted in purple. The location consists of three levels. Before entering the second there will be a locked door. That is, to open it, you need to buy an automatic key card in advance in the warehouse.

The more enemies you capture (for this you need to perform the “Retention” technique in melee), the higher the chances that they will provide you with intelligence. In the back office there will be the hostage you need. You can, of course, eliminate him, but it is better to stun and arrest him. Use Hold to leave the target unconscious. Once the fight is over, the enemy will be automatically arrested.

After this stage, the Special Operations Headquarters will become available to you . These are special assignments that the fighters carry out alone. That is, after assigning a fighter to a particular operation, you will not be able to use it until the specified time has passed.

Operation “Synthetic Ocelot”

  • Location: City Center
  • Objective: Investigate the presence of the Descendants in the area

During this task, you will first have to clear the warehouse, and only after that reflect three enemy waves. The timeline in the upper right corner of the screen shows the order of your heroes’ moves, and between their icons there will be information about the arrival of enemy reinforcements. Several shards markers can be found in the warehouse. Reinforcements can come from any of these directions, so you can try to guess. Set up “Observation” in front of a couple of such points in order to hit opponents on the move. When all three waves are destroyed, the mission is complete.

After completing this mission, you will complete the “Androids in personnel” project. They cannot be used as normal heroes, but replace any evacuated unit during the mission. Next, start the research “Modular weapons” or “Modular armor”.

Also from this moment, “Preparation” is available. This quest is akin to the special operations we talked about before this mission. That is, you can send only one agent to it.

Please note that each object on the city map has a special scale in the form of arrows with “fire”. If you ignore the tasks in this part of the city, then the level of discontent will gradually increase (this scale will be filled).

You cannot start the next operation as intelligence is required. Complete the side missions (yellow) that provide intelligence. Also capture targets. The more enemies you stun, the higher the chances of gaining additional intelligence. Also in these operations, enemies with armor may appear. There will be one yellow dot next to their health bar. This is 1 unit of armor. Each point of armor reduces the damage you deal by 1 point. That is, if the enemy has 5 cells of health and 1 unit of armor, then when dealing damage in the amount of 5 units, he will survive, retaining one point of health.

Operation Venom Ransomware

  • Location: Fishing Pier
  • Objective: Search the Advent bunker

When you can start the task, proceed to its implementation. The mission is divided into three battles. In the second of them, a purple chest with evidence will appear. You have 3 moves to open it. If you kill all the enemies before, then the container will simply disappear. That is, it is desirable to open it in parallel. When moving to the second level, adaptive fibers can come in handy, which will allow you to use the additional input. The rest of the mission is simple. In the third room you need to destroy the gate on the other side. After that, reinforcements will stop appearing, and you will only have to finish off the remaining goals.

Council . Somewhere around here you can increase the rank of some characters a second time. This transition will have a choice of two perks. Verge has an excellent ability: all targets in the telepathic network will not die, but will lose consciousness (that is, you will arrest them).

Operation “Mor Tiger”

  • Location: Outskirts
  • Objective: Determine the cause of the power outage

Quite a simple mission. Your task is to destroy the server and clear the room from all enemies. Try to deal with the server in the first turn in order to exclude the appearance of reinforcements. A sorceress will appear here (you may have encountered this enemy before). This is a rather unpleasant mutant that is able to teleport and attack from anywhere in the location. That is, hiding from him behind objects is pointless. The skill is especially unpleasant when the sorceress establishes a telepathic connection with one of her allies. At this time, it is useless to shoot at it, since it will reflect all blows. If you manage to capture the sorceress, then you will unlock a secret achievement .

Operation Wither Bonfire

  • Location: Renova Rise
  • Objective: Save the programmer

The task is divided into three stages. Before the final fight, there is an infiltration point that requires an automatic keycard. In the second battle there will be a container with evidence. Try to focus on sorceresses as they represent the highest threat in battles. When you defeat everyone in the third room, then go to the VIP. When your character is near, the VIP will join the squad. Escort everyone to the evacuation point on the first floor, behind the stairs. There will be enough time, reinforcements will not arrive soon, so you won’t have to fight anyone else.

After this mission, you will be prompted to make a choice. This will not affect history in any way, but it will add some adjustments to the behavior of the Descendants. They will either have more wizards or enhanced slaves.

Operation “Repentant Cry”

  • Location: Finance Department
  • Objective: Save the mayor’s advisor

Financial department. Save the mayor’s advisor. A simple storyline mission consisting of one battle. Destroy all enemies, then approach the hostage and escort everyone to the evacuation point. As always, focus on the sorceresses.

Operation Wounded Grasshopper

  • Location: Outskirts
  • Objective: Stop the Psionic Recruiter

The task consists of three levels. You will clear the first location without any problems. At the same time, I recommend sending two soldiers through two windows, and two through the front door. For the second room, select the front door, which provides a bonus in the form of activating “Observation” for all fighters at the end of the turn. There will be a container that must be opened before killing all enemies. And no later than three moves.

There is only one entrance to the third room. A new type of enemy will appear here – the Codex. Be careful as the enemy has a dangerous attack. It first releases a charge with a purple aura. She envelops the place near your heroes. After a turn, this aura explodes, dealing massive damage. That is why you need to stay away from her. Finally, if you want to get the best reward, attack the recruiter with Detention.

Gatherer Market

Certain Crisis quests offer you access to the Gatherer Market as a reward. Do not ignore this section, as you can buy rarer gear with Intelligence there!

Operation “Flush parent”

  • Location: Old Town
  • Objective: Neutralize Descendants

This is the final quest related to the Descendants faction. In addition to the banal cleaning of the first floor, you will be ordered not to release opponents to the intermediate floor. Pay attention to the door. Reinforcements markers will appear above some enemies. This means that at some point in the battle, they can simply try to escape. Your task is to kill them before this happens. Resonance Pillars give opponents a shield. One pillar adds +2 units to shields to a random enemy. In this case, these shields are marked not with yellow dots, but with blue cells.

In the second room there will be a new enemy – the Archon. This psionic shoots a laser beam from a distance, attacks from near, or uses Burnout. In the latter case, several highlighted places will appear, which will be undermined in the next turn. That is, you need to avoid them. Kill everyone and then activate the generator. But before you do that, you can move all the fighters to the lower left corner (while the generator is in the upper left). Then run all the fighters into the anti-gravity sleigh.

The third and final battle will begin. Violetta will appear in it. This is the leader of the Descendants. The most effective way to deal with the boss is to destroy common enemies. Focus on them, and after that switch to Violetta. In principle, she is the same sorceress, only with an increased supply of health points. You can either kill Violetta or arrest her. However, no achievements are required for the arrest.

Faction 2 – Gray Phoenix

An organization that collects alien technology. They did not attract attention for a long time and accumulated an arsenal. Which the Recovery Agency needs to confiscate.

Operation Kindred Nightmare

  • Location: Pipes
  • Objective: Investigate the actions of the “Gray Phoenix”

Please note that you will now have one free agent. In fact, he has something to do! Open the assembly complex and click on an empty cell in the lower left corner of the screen. Your character will be added to it. In doing so, he will speed up all subsequent research.

The task consists of three battles. In it you get to know the main forces of the “Gray Phoenix” – Legionnaires and Vipers. The former use powerful laser rifles that are capable of shooting at long distances. The latter prefer shotgun, dodge and melee attacks. It’s simple, you can even take everyone prisoner without any problems. In front of the second room, choose the first entrance, where there are fewer aggressive enemies. But at the same time, one of the heroes must have an automatic key card. There will be no new enemies, the number of Vipers and Legionnaires will simply increase. Otherwise, everyone can be arrested.

The third room can be accessed through two passages. The first requires explosives, and upon entering through the front door, all your heroes will be marked (until the end of the battle). In this fight, you need to kill all opponents and also prevent them from performing the erelia data transfer. To do this, kill every enemy that stands on the cells allocated in the office. Python will appear among other enemies. He is able to attract the target with his tongue and fix it, wrapping around. If you don’t free an ally, then he will miss his turn. Once everyone is dead, the quest will end.

Operation Dying Hermit

  • Location: Old Town
  • Objective: Find Trafficking Records

Once it’s time to complete this mission, prepare your squad. One of the characters should have an automatic key card, which will simplify the battle and save you from danger. So, first clear the warehouse. Remember that Legionnaires also love to use the Blast ability, which allows them to destroy any cover. In addition, the Dominator will appear, who fights in much the same way as Verge. That is, he uses psionic abilities and can stun you. Therefore, he is your number one goal.

After clearing the warehouse, you will see information about the need to protect documents. They are in boxes in the middle of the warehouse, on a forklift. Be careful! Do not detonate grenades nearby, do not use any straight-line shots that destroy obstacles. All this can undermine documents and lead to the failure of the assignment. Distribute the fighters and use observation at different entrances to injure opponents during the assault. Otherwise, everything is simple: there will be three waves of two opponents in each. After killing everyone, you will complete the task.

After completing this task, a new agent will become available to you. Open the armory and make your choice.

Operation Dying Masquerade

  • Location: Pipes
  • Objective: Stop Burglary

The task consists of one level. If you have an automatic keycard, then you can use the entrance with the fewest aggressive enemies. During the infiltration, I recommend neutralizing the Dominator. Then grab the power converter and evacuate. The location is small, so there shouldn’t be any problems. Just be in time before the reinforcements arrive. It is not necessary to eliminate all enemies.

Operation Silver Cargo

  • Location: City Center
  • Objective: Support the police operation

The operation has three different levels. In the first, you can enter all agents through the common door. Use different abilities and probably don’t even let your opponent make any move.

For the second pass, an automatic keycard may come in handy, which will allow you to enter where there are fewer aggressive fighters. There will be a container with evidence in the second location, so try to pick it up before killing all the enemies, and no later than the third turn.

Finally, go to the third level. Two new opponents will appear here. Of course, you could have met them before in side missions, but according to the plot, they enter the battle for the first time. The first is the Faceless. This tall monster attacks in melee, and also restores 2 health points before the start of each of its turns. It can also take a protective (waiting) stance. The second enemy is Berserker. This aggressive enemy attacks in melee, and often stuns its target, depriving it of 1-2 action points. Also, be careful with the supplier: he can escape from the location, so stun or kill him beforehand (you have a couple of moves).

After this task, there will be a choice:

  • Neutralize the quarters of the Gray Phoenix commanders. Our choice.
  • Find safe houses.

Operation Predator Kindred

  • Location: Upper Square
  • Objective: Take away the informant “Gray Phoenix”

You will need to evacuate the informant. One of the entrances will be closed, and adaptive fibers are required to unblock it. The rest of the mission is simple: kill everyone and then evacuate the hostage.

Operation Skeleton Blade

  • Location: Renova Rise
  • Objective: Protect the hydroelectric power plant

With the first room, you shouldn’t have any problems or questions. The second room can be accessed in two ways, and the second involves adaptive fibers. Otherwise, you will have to go through the open doors, and opponents will deal 1 more damage during penetration. A new enemy will appear here – the Praetorian. This big guy in heavy armor is able to increase armor cells up to 2 units. He also activates the Duel ability, linking himself to one of your agents. Thus, both your agent and the Praetorian inflict increased damage to each other. In addition, the Praetorian can add armor to his allies and use a powerful melee strike (shoots an energy pistol from a distance). If you can capture the Praetorian, you will receive a secret achievement. Also, don’t forget to pick up the evidence.

The lieutenant you need to capture at the third location is the same Praetorian, but with an increased health reserve. Kill nearby targets. You can use Verge to add the Lieutenant to the telepathic network. After that he can be “killed” with any weapon. He will pass out anyway.

Operation Obedient Shroud

  • Location: Outskirts
  • Objective: Neutralize the soldiers of the “Gray Phoenix”

There is only one entrance to the first level, and it grants all your fighters +50 dodge for 1 turn. Switch between targets until you find the aggressors. These are the characters that will attack you during penetration. Try to eliminate them. Continue to fight enemies, but do not rush to use the ult of the heroes (if you have already unlocked it: we are talking about the skills that open upon reaching the maximum rank).

When everyone is killed, slowly approach the ship (not for all action points) so that none of the heroes runs ahead of the rest. A Sectopod will come at you right next to the ship. It is a huge robot with two legs, reminiscent of the “Star Wars” walker. Use the ultimate of all fighters (if they have it unlocked … we are talking about the last skill of the highest rank). The robot fights alone, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

But this was only the first fight. Now the second is waiting for you. There are three entrances and two require automatic key cards. Your task: not only to kill all the enemies, but also to prevent them from activating the control bridge to launch the ship with the command module. It’s not easy to do, but if you focus on enemies with markers, then it’s easier for yourself. Opponents with markers hanging on them will try to get to the consoles in the near future.

The two entry points of the third battle also automatically require a keycard. Defeat all enemies, then activate the two consoles to the left and right of the energy barrier passage. A battle with the Commander awaits you. By the way, this is an ordinary Praetorian, but with an even larger supply of armor in comparison with the previously captured Lieutenant. Reinforcements will also come to the Commander’s aid. Don’t ignore the new fighters as the mission will only end after every enemy has been eliminated. This is the final task that will put an end to the plans of the Gray Phoenix.

Faction 3 – Sacred Spiral

An underground religious cult for hybrids. They promise salvation, but only to those who fought in the war against XCOM.

Operation Fashion Bayonet

  • Location: Upper Square
  • Objective: Investigate the actions of the “Sacred Spiral”

This mission will consist of three battles. All entrances to the first level are open. Your first enemies are Commandos and Androids. To begin with, Androids are robots, so you cannot telepathic net to them. The commando can throw a smoke grenade that forms a shroud: it reduces your chances of hitting enemies that are under the influence of the shroud. Androids can enable self-destruct mode. Be careful, because now such an Android will explode upon death, causing damage to all enemies around it. In addition, after activating this skill, the very next Android turn can independently run up to your agent and explode.

Try not to let the enemies go to the next room, otherwise there will be many more fighters on the second level. Destroy targets trying to eliminate all opponents who are trying to escape. Going to the third level is one, and it reduces the visibility for all your agents. Here you will understand how important it was not to let the enemies go from the two previous locations. The more opponents there are on the third level, the more difficult it will be for you to defeat them. The mission will fail if five opponents manage to leave the location. In addition, a new type of enemy will appear here – the Cleaner. He uses a flamethrower and also throws a frag grenade. She appears on the timeline and explodes on a certain turn. That is, you will almost always have a chance to escape from an explosive object.

Operation Tasteless Sky

  • Location: Railway depot
  • Objective: Hold back the Andromedon advance

The task consists of three levels. All four agents get to the first one through different entrances. Already in the first battle, new opponents will appear – turrets and Andromedons. With the turrets, everything is clear (you can add only the fact that they often use “Observation”, which means they shoot only when the agent is moving nearby), but Andromedons are a completely unique story. These enemies use shotguns and love to attack in melee. And after you reduce the enemy’s health bar to “0”, the Andromedon frame will remain. He will have a new bar of lives, and the enemy will be attacking exclusively in close combat.

In the second battle, one more new opponents will appear – Chryssalids and Newborn Chryssalids. The latter will try to kill the civilians, after which they will create a Chryssalid cocoon from them. The Cocoon will appear in the timeline and will spit out the Newborn Chryssalid every time it turns. But the most important feature of any Chrysallids is that if you use the Verge skill on them, which turns them into insane Berserkers, they will attack the nearest enemy, including your Agents !!!

To get to the third level, you can use a free entrance with poor visibility or a locked door with no aggressive enemies, but it requires an automatic keycard. Here the Guardian will join the already familiar opponents. He is similar to the Cleaner, but his role is completely different: once per battle, usually on his first turn, the Guardian activates shields on himself and all nearby allies, adding 3 blue cells to each. Subsequently, these blue cells become “red”, which means they are added to the total HP supply. Mental damage can pass by blue cells, but if they turn into red, they will be counted in the telepathic network. However, if you kill the Guardian, then absolutely all shields will disappear. Destroy enemies and you can complete the mission.

Operation Laser Angel

  • Location: Renova Rise
  • Objective: Capture the heist plans

The first fight of three will not reveal new enemies. There will be all the usual targets – Cleaners, Androids, Commandos, Guardians and Turrets. Remember that Androids and Cleaners are immune to fire. That is, Verge should not capture the Cleaner, turning him into a Berserker, if there is an Android or another Cleaner nearby. You will probably not be able to win before the reinforcements arrive, so you will have to kill 3 additional targets.

On the second level, there will be the same opponents, and again you will have to fight with one wave of reinforcements. Also, be sure to pick up an evidence container if possible.

In the third battle, two new opponents will appear. Ronin is a kind of ninja. He fights only in close combat, while he has two remarkable abilities. The first one is able to disable your weapon (that is, you have to reload), and the second – to put yourself up the timeline (queue). Moreover, he can put himself at the top of the line almost 3-4 times in a row. Try to kill him first, or at least do enough damage. or you have to endure. The second new enemy is MEK. This is a strengthened and enlarged Android that uses a powerful grenade launcher in battle. He is not affected by telepathy, he is immune to affects such as fire and acid. In addition, he shoots from a grenade launcher at several targets at once.

After completing this task, you will have to make a choice:

  • Stop kidnapping. Our choice.
  • Grab special equipment.

Operation Stubborn Dance

  • Location: Outskirts
  • Objective: Close the shell company

The mission consists of one battle. At the same time, there is an entrance that requires an automatic key card, but excludes debuffs. Therefore, be sure to take the item with you! Direct all fire at Rhonin as he is the most dangerous enemy. Do not relax, as there are enemies in the next room. Your task: to eliminate everyone and not let them start the unit. The mission will fail if one of the marked enemies stays in the zone of action for more than two turns. Get ready for one reinforcement.

Operation “Predator grin”

  • Location: Embankment
  • Objective: Save the brave DJ

This is a simple VIP rescue mission. Clear the location, approach the hostage and evacuate. There is nothing difficult here, the enemies are all familiar to you.

Operation Ruthless Cutter

  • Location: Fishing Pier
  • Objective: Explore an abandoned clinic

The task consists of three levels. It is logical that the agents should be divided so that the smallest number of soldiers pass through the front door. There is nothing unusual in the first room. When infiltrating, focus your fire on the aggressors. There is only one way to the second room. If you want to save the hostage (which is optional), you will have to focus your fire on the IEC.

Important. Whether you noticed it or not, the Commando fighters are the cause of the reinforcements appearing. If there are none, then there will be no reinforcements !!! That is, you must kill all the Commandos before the turn goes to them. With the rest of the enemies in this location, it’s easier.

The second entrance to the third level requires explosives, but it’s better, so try to grab it with you. Before killing all the enemies, try to get to the gene nurseries located at the end of the location as soon as possible. To be more precise, there is a nursery control panel. Disable it before the time runs out (the number of moves indicated in the upper left corner of the screen). And then finish off everyone else. Let me remind you that first it is advisable to kill all the Commandos.

Operation Beast Hermit

  • Location: Finance Department
  • Objective: Neutralize the “Sacred Spiral”

This is the final mission associated with this faction. Burst through the doors and destroy one Commando and Guardian. Let one fighter with a powerful shotgun through the first door, three through the second, who will kill the Guardian. Pay attention to the teleport in the center. There are two consoles to the left and right of it. Be sure to disable them, and as soon as possible, otherwise substantial reinforcements will arrive from the teleporter. After disarming the teleporter, kill the remaining opponents.

Two passages to the second level are protected, special fibers are required. The third passage is open and accessible to all four agents, but from there it will be more difficult to hit enemies. You decide. At the start of the fight, you will see Bellus Mara, the leader of the Sacred Spiral. In fact, this is the same Ronin, only with increased attacks and increased health. Otherwise, he uses the same techniques, which means you need to try and eliminate him early. You will also see a sphere that will spawn several Phantom Zombies. I don’t know how it should be, but they only attacked my agents (although, in theory, zombies should fight against everyone). However, zombies are not that strong, so you can leave them for a snack. Ideally, you should kill multiple zombies at once with a single Frag Grenade (or Mass Skill).

Finally, the third battle is the battle against the Gatekeeper. I recommend that you proceed as follows: give all fighters AR ammo that ignore armor. Then place the fighters in one common door, where there are four slots, but so that there are agents with a shotgun at both the beginning and the end. Now kill the only Commando with the first agent with a shotgun, shoot the Guardian with the second, shoot at any other target (for example, Android) with the third, and finish off the Guardian with the fourth (the probability will be low, but if you hit, the Guardian is corpse due to the damage bonus).

Then devote the entire first turn to the destruction of the Gatekeeper. If you have AR ammo for all the fighters, then you are guaranteed to finish him off. You can add frag grenades to this. Why kill the Gatekeeper first? He will begin to revive the killed enemies, and also maintains the work of portals through which new mobs arrive. And if the former are killed along with the death of the Gatekeeper, then the latter will have to be dealt with manually.

Operation Demon grin

  • Location: City Center
  • Objective: Protect the Town Hall

This quest will begin immediately after you complete three investigations concerning the Descendants, the Gray Phoenix, and the Sacred Spiral. In the first battle, in the courtyard of the town hall, you will face familiar opponents. Cobras use immobilizing poison, Paladins are telepaths who establish communication with allies and add shields to them, Archers can knock out weapons of your agents, and so on. Be patient, use massive abilities and win soon.

There are no aggressive enemies in the second room, but there will be Guardians installing shields. Therefore, they are your first target. There are two Guardians in total, and you can definitely kill one of them already in infiltration mode. The second in the same mode can be properly patted and finished off in the first move. There will also be Archers and Thugs. The latter use shields and at the end of their turn can add an additional armor slot (there will be two in total). Shooters knock weapons out of hand. There will also be new enemies – Ambals. They shoot with a shotgun, while keeping their distance, and after firing they activate a melee stance. If you come close to them, they will simply counterattack you.

In the third room, try to destroy the enemies on the left and in the distance. Don’t let them destroy the barricade behind which the hostage is hiding. Run in that direction and kill just distant targets. Moreover, even if the barricade is destroyed, the task will not fail. Instead, markers will appear above those enemies who will try to kill the hostage on their next turn. I will note that the hostage can withstand one blow.

Operation Villainous Claw

  • Location: City Center
  • Objective: Neutralize Atlas

In the first battle, be sure to kill the Commando while still in infiltration mode. Another Commando will be in the left room, so try to finish him off on the first turn. Overall, the first battle will be relatively easy. There are few enemies, even if they are strong.

There will be only Descendants in the second hall. You know how to deal with Dominators, Resonances and Paladins without us. They will be accompanied by one necromancer, who must be eliminated first. Reinforcements will arrive in the form of Androids, but by this time you should have time to kill the necessary enemy, pick up the key card and run all the characters into the elevator.

Once on the roof, kill the Guardian first, and then focus on the remaining enemies (you can eliminate the Vipers). The Servants you know often use levitation, but you can counteract it by finishing off the caster himself. When you practically destroy the first opponents, the gate at the end of the roof will open. You will learn that now you need to reflect 2 more enemy waves. First, a group of big guys will appear, and the next move – snakes. That is, both waves will be on the roof at almost the same time. Use the ultimate of any hero, as during the next battle everything will be reset.

In the next battle, be sure to kill Ronin (at the moment of penetration)! This is the final fight. The Ruler will appear here – this is the leader of the mercenaries from the “Sorokopust” squad. Try to kill him as soon as possible, which will exclude the appearance of new reinforcements. However, new reinforcements won’t just appear; it is necessary that you kill half of the enemies present. In addition, when you inflict a mortal wound on the Ruler, he will survive and be hidden under the energy barrier until his next turn. After killing the Ruler, deal with the remaining enemies to complete the passage of the story campaign.
