How to manually target and target skills in Outriders

Outriders is here, featuring intense, challenging, and strategic third-person shooter combat with a story to start. Think of The Division mixed with Destiny, and even a little hint of Mass Effect added just in case. If you’re here, you’re probably trying to make better use of your class’s skills and abilities and want to know how to manually aim and target your skills on Outriders so they can land more accurately.

Here is what you need to know.

How to manually target and target skills in Outriders

Outriders offer many types of skills and abilities. Some just activate and then passively help your character. Others are unique activations that when you hit them something great happens, and that’s it.

However, other skills require a bit more finesse and can be steered and directed manually so you can get the most out of them.

To manually target and target your abilities on Outriders, all you need to do is hold down the button for the ability you are trying to use. Hold it for a second, then release it. Then instead of throwing the ability like you would if you hit it, you will see a cross and line telling you where you are aiming and throw the ability down. Go ahead and press the release button and your target ability will be extinguished.

This is probably what you will want to do most of the time for the skills in which you apply. The only time you’ll want to throw something fast is if you’re in a rush or in danger and need to use your skills quickly. Which, to be fair, is mostly found on Outriders.

If you’re playing Techomancer, for example, you’ll want your turret to be perfectly aligned so you can have a good line of sight to all of your enemies. Otherwise, it could find itself hiding behind a wall or something like that because you weren’t disturbed or you didn’t have time to target it.
