Outriders is finally available on Steam. But even though the demo of the game was available for almost a month, it seems that People Can Fly has not managed to eliminate all the bugs and problems of the game. New bugs appear almost every day.
Some gamers are now complaining that their controllers are not working on the PC version of Outriders. And the funny thing is that the Epic Games version of this game does not have any such problem. It is the Steam version that has the problem.
So now the main question. Is there any way to fix this problem?

Personally, I have the Epic Games store and all the controls work completely fine. Which means that the game is compatible with the controller. So this solution is for Steam only.
This solution has been recommended by a Steam user and many other users have already confirmed that it works. Here is the solution:
Go to the controller settings and switch to the default gamepad template instead of the “official” settings.
1.) Start Steam to a large picture
2.) From the Big Picture main menu, select the gear icon
3.) In controller, select controller settings, make sure your specific controller is enabled / on
4. ) Return to the Big Picture main menu
5.) Select Library
6.) Select Outriders
7.) Select Manage Game.
8.) Select controller settings
9.) Select Browse Settings – Templates
10.) Select Gamepad
If the above-mentioned solution doesn’t work for you, I would recommend that you disable Steam Input for Outriders. Maybe Steam is interfering with compatibility with the game’s built-in controller. This is how you do it:
- Launch Steam
- Go to your library and right click on Outriders
- Select properties
- Select the Driver tab
- Now change the setting in “OVERRIDE FOR OUTRIDERS” to “Disable Steam Input”
- Restart Steam
