- Have your Instagram account linked to your Facebook Fan Page and to the Business Manager.
- Have published at least 9 previous publications.
- Have downloaded the latest version of Instagram.
- Create a product catalog in Business Manager. You can only upload your own products. No selling other people’s products, that is, no affiliate marketing.
- Be part of an Instagram market: that is, one of the countries where the store is enabled.
- Be a trustworthy account: Instagram is not very clear about what it considers to be trustworthy accounts, but I understand that it will leave out fake profiles or those that look like them.
How do I get approved to shop on Instagram?
The first step to making sure you’re approved to shop on Instagram: Make sure you have an eCommerce store.
- Shoppable Instagram Posts are only available to those who have an eCommerce platform that integrates with Instagram. So while you can certainly sell on Instagram without a website, you should consider creating one if you want to grow your Instagram business faster.

Activate the Instagram store
When you have the catalog of your products in Business Manager, follow these steps:
- Go to your Instagram profile and click on “settings”.
- Then go to “shopping”.
- Then “continue”.
- Select the product catalog, which you want to connect to your Instagram business profile.
- We finish by clicking “done”.
With these requirements met:
- You’ll need to wait for Instagram to give you approval to use Instagram Shopping.
- When you have been approved: it takes more or less a couple of days and it does not notify you, yes, they are that “nice”, you will have to go to the Instagram settings on your mobile where you will find the shopping section enabled “and there, select a product catalog.
