What computer do you need for Yakuza: Like a Dragon (system requirements)

We studied independent tests of the game on various hardware and came to the conclusion that the official information is close to the truth, but only if we focus on the resolution of 1080p (1920×1080). Therefore, based on the tests studied, we have added recommendations for playing at 1440p (2560×1440) and 4K (3840×2160) at high graphics settings.

IMPORTANT: The game requires 64-bit Windows and does not officially support 32-bit (x86) versions of the operating system.

Doesn’t start on Windows 7

The game is not designed to run on Microsoft operating systems older than Windows 10. In addition, a 64-bit version of the OS is required.

How to enable Russian

Select Russian in the properties of the game on Steam, or switch the Language parameter to Russian in the settings in the main menu .

Resolution does not change

This error can occur if screen scaling is enabled on Windows. You can compensate for this as follows:

Find the exefile in the game folder.
Go to properties and go to the “Compatibility”tab .
Click the Change High DPI Settingsbutton .
In the option “Override the scaling mode …”select “Application” .

Optimization Tips Yakuza: Like a Dragon

The game has quality presets – from “Low” to “Ultra”. However, it is not worth reducing all parameters at once, since not all of them significantly affect performance. Therefore, further we will analyze each graphical option separately. Where applicable, we have shown in parentheses the maximum percentage degradation in current performance.

IMPORTANT: all recommendations below are for 1920×1080 resolution.

“Screen mode”. In order for the system to allocate maximum resources for the game itself, it is better to choose an exclusive full screen.
In 3rd person single-player games, it is best to turn on V-sync to improve the fluidity of the footage.
Field of View. Leave the default value. Increasing will allow you to see more in the frame, but will naturally decrease performance.
On a less powerful PC, you can try limiting it to 30 or 60 to get rid of the staters.
Texture Quality (up to 4 GB VRAM). To set the maximum quality, you need a 4 gigabyte video card. If you have only 2 – put the average, and if even less – low.
“Filtering textures”. Filtering textures restores the clarity of surfaces at an angle to the player’s camera (due to the rendering features in this angle, textures initially look blurry). Performance is not affected, so include maximum quality.
“Shadow quality” (up to 6%). On older video cards, FPS can sag noticeably. Try to set the quality to medium and compare with high in terms of performance.
“Geometry quality” (up to 7%). Determines the detail of objects. Significantly affects image quality. Try not to reduce this parameter, despite the drop in FPS.
“Reflections in real time” (up to 6%). There is no ray tracing in the game, so a slightly simplified but different scene is rendered in the mirrors. Performance with a weak processor can drop dramatically – reduce to medium or below.
Motion Blur. Blur when turning the camera for a speed effect. Enable or disable to your liking.
SSAO (up to 7%). Diffuse shading that adds extra shadows at joints, recesses, and at the base of objects. All this makes the picture much more realistic. Therefore, it is better to lower the quality of the rest of the shadows, and leave this setting enabled.
Render Resolution. Can make the image smoother by increasing the render resolution without increasing the screen resolution. But the drop in performance will be too big – leave the value at 100%.
Smoothing (up to 6%). The quality and performance of different anti-aliasing methods strongly depend on the manufacturer of the graphics chip and its current state. But there is the least demanding option – FXAA. If the others do not fit, then put it on (but it may slightly blur the picture).
“Depth of field”. Blurs the background in cutscenes and some angles. Not everyone likes this effect. You can turn it off, but it won’t add FPS.
“Multisampling” (up to 12%). Additional anti-aliasing by partially increasing the render resolution. The effect on the picture quality is noticeably small, so it is better to turn it off.

At minimum graphics settings, Yakuza: Like a Dragon looks mediocre, but already at medium-high it is almost indistinguishable from maximum (especially at 1920×1080). So don’t be discouraged if you had to downgrade many options.
