Well, I don’t see where the problem is: if you want, I’ll give you a hand to succeed in your intent.
In this tutorial, in fact, I will explain how to change your name on Fortnite Nintendo Switch by showing you all the roads at your disposal. By following the steps below, you will be able to change your nickname in Fortnite for Switch and other players will be able to see you with the new chosen name, which will be linked to your Epic Games account. All, of course, without losing game progress.

Preliminary information
Before getting to the heart of the tutorial and explaining how to change your name on Fortnite for Nintendo Switch , it is important that you explain the mechanism linked to the change of username in the famous Epic Games title.
The first point to clarify concerns the difference between the Nintendo nickname and the Epic Games one used in Fortnite: the Nintendo one appears above your character when you access the game but, be careful, it is not what other players see when you is online. The “real” name on Fortnite is the one linked to your Epic Games account and, unfortunately, it is not possible to change it directly from Nintendo Switch.
This, however, does not mean that it is possible to change the name in the edition of Fortnite destined for the hybrid console of Nintendo: simply, to do so, you have to proceed from a computer, smartphone or tablet by going to change the Epic Games account. (in case, remote, that you don’t have one yet, you can find out how to create it in this guide of mine )
A final warning I must give you, before explaining in detail how to proceed, is to carefully choose your new nickname, because once changed you will have to wait at least two weeks before you can make new changes to it. All clear? Well, then get ready to proceed!
How to change your name on Fortnite for Switch
To get a new name in Fortnite for Switch, as just mentioned, you have to act on your Epic Games profile : just change your nickname directly on the Epic official website to have the new name available with immediate effect. Here is all explained in detail below.
From computer
If you have decided to change your Fortnite nickname using a PC or Mac , proceed by connecting to the official Fortnite website using your favorite browser .
Once the home page of the site is displayed, you will see the Login button in the menu bar at the top : proceed by clicking on it, so as to bring up the message with the word Do you already play Fortnite? . Then answer this question with the No key (I suggest you do it even if you already play Fortnite, in order to speed up the procedure).
Now you can see the Create Account page and the Login button , on the right: proceed by clicking on the latter and enter the email address you used to register on the Epic site, with the relative password . When you have filled in both fields, click on the Login button . I take this opportunity to inform you that you can also check the white square next to the word Remember me , to always stay logged in to the site even after closing it.
Compliments! You’ve just logged into the official Fortnite site and the name change is now just a handful of clicks away. To make sure you have logged in successfully, look at the top right corner: instead of the Login button you should see your current nickname.
To proceed, then move the cursor to your current nickname and scroll the menu that appears, then press the Account button . The new page you see shows General Settings as the first item ; soon after, however, you will find Personal Details : you can change your name on Fortnite right under this heading, writing the new name you want to use under the word Display Name .
Once this is done, make the changes effective by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking on the blue button Save changes .
It’s done! You have changed your name on Fortnite and the effect of this change will also be visible when you play on Nintendo Switch in multiplayer online matches.
I remind you that you will not be able to change your name again until at least two weeks have passed since the last change: choose wisely!
From smartphones and tablets
Are you wondering if you can change your name on Fortnite without using your PC or Mac, but from your smartphone or tablet ? Quiet, of course yes, and it is also very simple.
The first step you need to take is to open the browser you use to browse online on your smartphone or tablet (eg Chrome on Android and Safari on iOS) and connect to the official Fortnite website . Once this is done, you will have to press on the menu icon (the three horizontal lines on a yellow background) located at the top of the screen.
Among the options that will open, you will have to tap on the Login button and then answer with the No button to the question You already play Fortnite (I suggest you choose this option even if you actually already play Fortnite, in order to speed up the procedure) .
In the new screen that appears, scroll down and tap the Login button to open the form where you can enter your username and password . When the operation is completed, press the Login button and if all the data were correct you will be redirected to the main page. You can now press the button with the three horizontal lines again and then tap the button with your current nickname written on it .
The last step to change your name is very simple: in the new open page, move to the Display Name item to tap the white box with your name and enter the new one. When you are done with the entry, scroll down and press the blue Save Changes button .
Good job! Your new name in Fortnite will be displayed during online games on Switch, but remember that you will have to wait at least two weeks to change it again .
In case of doubts or problems
In the unfortunate event that you’re having trouble with your Epic Games account, don’t worry – the developer’s help center can help you in a number of ways.
You can take advantage of this service from the comfort of your home, by connecting to the official Epic Games support page and typing “change name” in the top bar .
The result of the search will be a proposed solution: if this is unsatisfactory, you can request the direct support of an operator , by clicking on the CONTACT US button , at the top right, and entering the requested data: Language, Name (not mandatory) , Email address and Platform (the platform you use in this case is Nintendo Switch).
Next, click on the Select drop-down menu and choose Epic Games Account Update . Before clicking on the purple Submit button , go to the Security text box and write the text that appears in the next image (if you don’t read it correctly, click on the red circular arrow and the image will be updated with a different one).
