You need to activate a personal SPID identity and, to do so, you have chosen to contact Aruba , a well-known Italian company that has been operating in the online, web hosting and cloud sectors for years, as well as one of the providers authorized by the government to release of SPID identities ( Public Digital Identity System ) thanks to which it is possible to securely access over 12,000 online services of the Public Administrations, including those of the INPS and the Revenue Agency, using the same credentials.
The problem? You don’t know much about technology and, therefore, you fear you won’t be able to complete the SPID activation process on your own. At the same time, considering your many daily commitments, you would like to avoid physically going to public offices to carry out the recognition procedure – essential for SPID activation – and you would like to have a hand in completing everything from the comfort of home. Don’t panic: Aruba has thought of solutions like yours and, in fact, in addition to the recognition systems with digital signature, TS-CNS and CIE 3.0, for its SPID it also offers the possibility of recognizing it with a webcam (or smartphone camera /tablet) comfortably from home.
All you need is a mobile phone number and an email address to receive Aruba’s verification codes and communications, a valid identity document, a health card (which is obviously also valid) and a device (either PC, smartphone or tablet) connected to the Internet and with a working camera and microphone. Once you have completed the SPID activation request on the Aruba website (very simple procedure, guided step by step), you can make a video call with an Aruba operator who, in a few minutes, will verify your identity and will (if successful positive) upon activation of your personal SPID. How to buy SPID Aruba Personal ID with video recognition
Purchasing the SPID Aruba ID Personal with video recognition requires a few simple steps: let’s find out together.
Purchase
First, connect to the SPID Aruba website and click on the button to create your personal SPID . On the page that opens, choose the identification system with webcam and click on the Continue button .
You will be asked if you need a different OTP generator from the app and if you need a higher level of security for your SPID: in the first case you can choose to purchase the physical OTP display device (10 euros + VAT per year), i.e. a “key” on which the OTP codes for accessing the Aruba SPID are generated and displayed; in the second you can buy a security level 3 SPID (14.90 euros + VAT/year) which is necessary for sites that process sensitive data and works via a smart card (to use it you must already have an active CNS with chip and reader, a Digital Signature with CNS or an Aruba Remote Digital Signature). Once you have made your choices, press Continue .
At this point you must log in with your Aruba account ; if you don’t have one yet, click on the Register button and follow the guided procedure to create one at the moment, indicating whether you are a Natural Person (private), a Freelancer , a Company (including associations, associated studios , institutions , condominiums ), a sole proprietorship or a public administration .
Once logged in, check that the correct information is shown on the Confirm your data page and continue with registration by pressing the appropriate button.
Now choose a secure payment method among the many supported: credit card ( prepaid cards are also fine ), PayPal , bank transfer or postal order (these last two methods provide for the manual renewal of the service when it expires, instead of the automatic one) , if you have a discount code enter it in the dedicated field and tick the boxes below relating to acceptance of the contractual conditions ; finally press the Continue button .
At this point, you just have to complete the payment with the chosen method. After accreditation, Aruba will send you an email with instructions for completing the registration and activating your SPID.
Completion of registration
Once you have received the email from Aruba, open it and visit the link contained therein. On the page that opens, choose the recognition mode via webcam and, to proceed to the next steps, confirm that you have the personal data , documentation and required devices available (mobile phone, email address, identity document, health card and smartphone with the Aruba OTP app installed) by ticking the relevant boxes. Also read the privacy policy , accept it by ticking the appropriate box and continue .
You are now on the Contacts page , where you can enter and verify your contact details. Then enter your mobile phone number in the appropriate field, click on Send verification SMS and you will receive a confirmation code to the number indicated: when this happens (within a few seconds), enter the code received in the field that appears on the screen and press Check button .
Now repeat the same thing with your email address : the system will send you a verification code to the email address indicated; return it to the field shown on the screen and the game is done.
Once you have verified your mobile phone number and email address, you can continue with the registration process. Specifically, you must fill in the SPID credentials form with username and password — to be repeated in the confirmation field — which you will use to access your identity (together with the OTP code generated by the Aruba OTP app or by the Aruba OTP physical device).
The password must be between 8 and 20 characters long and must include: at least one uppercase and one lowercase, at least one number and at least one special character.
The next step is to fill out the form with your personal information : indicate your tax code, name, surname, gender, date of birth, country, province and municipality of birth in the first section; identification number and expiry date of your valid health card in the second section; in the third section, instead, use the Document drop-down menu to choose a document among those accepted (Identity Card, Passport or Driving Licence) and insert the data.
Then continue with the compilation of the form by entering the data relating to the domicile : indicate the country, the province, the municipality, the postal code, the address and the house number. Once you have filled in everything and verified that all the fields have been filled in correctly, click on the Continue button .
At this point you need to download the Aruba OTP app for Android or iPhone (just search for it in your device’s store and press Install ) and create an account there.
To carry out this procedure, just click on Create new account and choose whether to scan the QR code displayed on the Aruba website or manually type in the activation code , also present on the Aruba website.
Once this is done, press the Activate button in the application, type the OTP code generated by the latter on the Aruba website and you’re done. Now you just have to carry out the video recognition process.
Video recognition
To start the video recognition needed to activate the Aruba SPID, just visit the special link you received via email; first, however, make sure you have a device (PC, smartphone or tablet) connected to the Internet and with a working camera and microphone ; Also make sure you have your mobile phone number , email address and documents entered during registration at hand, since the operator will ask you to show them during the recognition session.
When you’re ready to start, click on the appropriate button , read the on-screen instructions carefully, consult the attached documents (privacy policy and membership form) and tick the various boxes to demonstrate that you have read and accept everything, then click on the button Forward .
Now you have to upload, in order, the front and back of the identity document and the front and back of the health card : to do this, click on the Upload document button and select the file with the scan of the requested document.
You can upload JPG or PNG files with a maximum weight of 4MB. Make sure your document photos are clear and legible.
Once the documents have been uploaded, the webcam test will start : to complete it, just frame your face while remaining still for a few seconds inside the dotted area.
You will then need to test the microphone : select the microphone you want to use from the drop-down menu and try to speak until the bar below lights up, then press Next .
If the webcam and microphone test are successful, you will be given the opportunity to get in touch with an operator and carry out the video recognition. If you are ready to start, press the Start button
To complete the recognition, simply follow the instructions provided by the operator himself. As previously mentioned, it is a question of confirming your data and showing the documents indicated in the previous stages of registration.
Once the recognition has been completed, you will receive a confirmation email from Aruba indicating that your SPID has been activated.
You will therefore be able to start using your digital identity to access the over 12,000 online services of the Public Administrations, including those provided by INPS and the Revenue Agency . It was easy, didn’t you think?!
