Review of the French light tank of the seventh level: history of creation, game characteristics, tactical tips

The AMX 13 75 is a Tier 7 French light tank. In one of the last patches, light tanks were brought to life – instead of doing unusual functions, such as causing damage, they were forced to “shine”. What unheard-of cruelty! But one copy was clearly deprived of attention, to say the least – nerfed. French drummers have always been my favorite class of technique, so when Flea was pinned down it was very sad. The tank was converted to HD model and the frontal armor was practically removed. She was small anyway, I don’t understand why it was necessary. Nevertheless, the car still drags in capable hands, only now they should be more direct than before.

Historical reference

After the light tank AMX 12 (t) was developed, the French developers did not stop there and continued their work on the “revolutionary” project AMX 13. Two years later, an instance with a “swinging tower” was ready to introduce a revolving loading mechanism , six shells in each drum. In total, the tower was supposed to have two backup clips. This device made it possible to get rid of the loader and lighten the tank.

By 1952, test trials were generally completed and in-line production began. Until 1964, 7,700 tanks were produced, with Argentina being one of the localizers. During all this time, the car was very actively involved in hostilities around the world. Its bizarre outlines could be seen on the fields of the Arab-Israeli wars, the Indo-Pakistani conflicts and African civil strife. But in tank battles, this light tank did not show itself. In the Six Day War, the Israeli AMX 13 unit collided with the T-54 and suffered serious losses because the 75mm cannon could not penetrate their frontal armor. Very soon, the vehicle was withdrawn from the line troops and reoriented to reconnaissance and amphibious operations.

After that, the “flea” was improved several times, replacing the outdated 75-mm gun with a 90-mm one. In order to increase the ability to combat tanks, the SS-11 ATGM was installed. But this was not the end of the modifications. Somehow, by some unknown way, they managed to shove a 105-mm cannon into the tower, with laser guidance and “cumulative” for 400 mm of armor penetration. In this form, the tank was exported to 25 countries of the world, ranging from Africa to South America. Today it is still in service with some countries that do not want to get rid of such a thing.

Game characteristics

In World of Tanks “Flea” was never a special damage dealer, it was used as a “firefly” and a sucker of the second line. After the nerf of the armor, these roles only got worse. Consider the characteristics of the tank in the context of the game:

Protection

Even earlier it was impossible to say flattering words about the Flea’s armor – the 50 mm front of the hull and 40 mm of the front of the turret on the seventh-eighth level were always sewn with a bang. But after the conversion to HD resolution, the turret’s forehead was actually reduced to 30 mm, and strange things happened to the hull. 50 mm remained only on a narrow strip in front at the junction of VLD and NLD, and the inclined sheet was reduced to an insignificant 15 mm. It is clear that we will collide with a fifty-kopeck buffer, but the very low-set design of the machine leads to the fact that when ramming, the enemy will climb with tracks on this “cardboard” and push through significant damage. In other places, as it was sad, it remains – 15-20 mm. More or less, only the safety margin of 850 hit points saves, at least we do not use “BB-shots” (but not “land mines”).

Firepower

Trunks in our full strength moved from AMX 12 (t) – stock cannon 75 mm SA49 and a top gun 75 SA50 mm . Since you went through all this gemmor on your predecessor, just put the top, since the stock rules only in one thing – the rate of fire (16 seconds versus 20). Otherwise, they are very similar, even the amount of ammunition in the clip is the same – four shells. Therefore, the 50th modification is an unambiguous must have.

Let’s take a closer look at the 75 mm SA50 gun. A standard round sews 144 mm of armor plates, and at the seventh level this is no longer enough. But sabot calibers for 202 mm of armor piercing are also not ice, especially on the eighth levels, when the same IS-3 is rushing at you . Damage fluctuates around 135 HP, which is not very much even for a firefly and gives a potential damage per minute for 1473 HP. The tank is brought down in two seconds, which is not particularly important, since the main shooting will be on the move.

The disadvantages of the gun include accuracy with a spread of 0.38 per hundred meters, but you will have to distribute plops almost at point-blank range, so you won’t miss much. UVN minus six degrees, so you can use the bends of the relief and troll the enemy with a smiling tower in every possible way. But with ammunition, sheer trouble – only 36 shells. It is not recommended to plant them in vain in milk. In general, the gun does not allow to roam in terms of destroying opponents.

Dynamics

Actually, French cardboard has never pleased us, so the main focus is on the engine compartment. The top Detroit Diesel 6V53T engine produces 400 hp. sec., which accelerates our 16-ton carcass to 61 km / h, and even we have reverse gear and 23 km / h! With such indicators, the tank is approaching the rank of one of the fastest LT in the game! The AMX 13 Type 2A tracks increase payload by two tons and increase turn by two degrees per second. Unlike the top-end tracks, which produce 42 deg / s, the tower mechanism rotates at 46 deg / s. It is clearly not recommended to play carousel with a flea – it will snarl and spit it out!

Discovery and communication

The SCR 528F is one of the best radios in its class and maintains contact at 750 meters, which is great on level 7. True, the visibility suffers a little, which on this unit is only 370 meters. Yes, you can increase it by pumping, but for LT this parameter is critical already at the very beginning. But we are practically invisible – 41% while standing and 31% in motion! Camouflage and mesh in general will make you a real ninja, which can only be found by scratching sideways on his trunk. We highly recommend not to skimp and purchase camouflage, which will also give a small increase in camouflage.

Bleeding and equipment

What’s the best way to learn AMX 13 75? Its predecessor is the prototype AMX 12 (t), from which we will get all kinds of guns and radios. Long live unification! This will greatly facilitate further pumping. It remains only for free experience to take the tracks and gradually deflate the top engine. And voila – the elite status is in our pocket!

Three tankmen live in our compact building, this time without a dog (she remained on the “cockroach”). You don’t even have to take a steam bath and transfer an active crew from it. But if you want to have both vehicles in the hangar, then just repeat the pumping, which is absolutely identical for these types of tanks. After upgrading the entire crew to “Disguise”, the commander returns to the “Sixth Sense” – this is the standard for all LT. The second level of perks involves “Combat Brotherhood”, which collectively increases all the fundamental characteristics, from dynamics to shooting. The third level of perks: the commander gets “Eagle eye” to see better, or “Jack of all trades”, to replace the injured crew members; the driver is pumping the “King of the off-road” to dodge on soft soils; the gunner-loader develops towards the “Spiteful”,

We choose special equipment for active light: “Improved ventilation”, “Vertical beam stabilizer” and “Enlightened optics”. If the moving styles don’t appeal to you, you can go for Medium Rammer, Camouflage Net, and Stereo Trumpet. There is also improved special equipment, but it is only available for bonds, which in turn are earned in ranked battles. If you are not sorry, then get the “Adjusted Optics” – it gives 12.5 percent to the viewing radius.

We take consumables according to the standard scheme: “Manual fire extinguisher”, “Small first aid kit”, “Large repair kit” (+15 to repair). Thank God that the engine does not burn often (only 15% chance of fire), so you should refresh yourself with Strong Coffee, or treat your steel friend with 105-octane gasoline.

There is also a slot for “Pre-battle instructions” (for equipment and crew) for bonds. Only those tanks that are most often sent into battle from the hangar should be pumped up with instructions. For AMX 13 75, the most suitable modifiers are: Optics Calibration (+ 2.5% to view), Terrain Shelters (improves camouflage) and Concentration on Target (improves the Vindictive skill).

Of course, you can shoot from it and even earn marks on the barrel … But the tank is not about that

Tactics tips

The AMX 13 75 is a classic scout that is also a good counterfire.

At the very beginning, try to move forward and give the first circle along the front line for light. Having scanned the forward approaching enemies, you can roll back a little under the protection of your trunks. Certainly some hothead will try to follow and pay dearly. And not so much from allies as from your drum on the go. This is probably the most annoying sight – you are chasing a “flea”, and she wobbles at speed and pours you with an auto-sight with shells.

After the first run it is quite possible to repeat the run, just periodically look at the minimap to determine the safest place for the backlight. By this time, the ST will have reached the top points and the mahach for the titles of “king of the mountain” will begin. In the process of reconnaissance, it is worth visiting such places and helping your allies to gain superiority a little. Do not get involved in skirmishes too much – jumped out, shot off the drum and went to reload. This technique goes well with the “carousel”: rolled out, entered the stern at speed, dealt damage and drove further beyond the folds of the terrain. Not everyone’s tower spins as fast, which means there is a chance to slip through without damage.

Try to stay with your colleagues, in the crowd of allied tanks, because only in the “wolf pack” you will be able to realize your potential damage. Do not hesitate to suck in frags, but in the heat of the battle, do not forget about team play – shoot down tracks, damage modules, give instructions to art. Periodically break away from the general group and conduct a reconnaissance in a circle so as not to miss flanking or entering the rear. You should be especially careful on open maps, dotted with hills and ravines. In closed and mountainous locations, just keep in the midst of your allies and shoot at the light.

After breaking through the flank, quickly go into the gap and begin to probe the terrain ahead to the very enemy base. Tank destroyers will sit in the bushes in the most tank-hazardous areas on any one. Your task is either to highlight them for art or the lines that follow you, or (if there are few of them) try to figure it out on your own. To do this, the main thing is to shorten the distance, sneaking up behind shelters, and then abruptly translate everything into a “carousel”. Self-propelled guns are not particularly maneuverable and quickly merge. With art, which usually grazes at the base, the conversation is the same – short. The main thing is not to stop for a second and move strictly perpendicular to their sight, otherwise there is a risk of catching a random suitcase.

Leave the base to capture the heavier and more clumsy partners. If the main thing for you is victory, then just circle around the capture point in order to exclude being shot down with a particularly dexterous sniper. Or stand in comfortable bushes in a dangerous direction. But when itching at the fifth point, or wanting adventure, go into deep reconnaissance on the other flank. Usually, enemy tanks do not return home by the same paths they took, which means there is a chance to tickle them from the rear. Plus, the invaders of the home base usually do not wait for the arrival of the trunk from where they just crawled out, which means there is a chance to surprise them. It is not required to destroy the invaders on your own, you just have to look out in order to once again knock down the capture strip. When the enemy breaks down and tries to punish you, just retreat. Play for time, it plays to your team.

To live longer on the battlefield, which means more shine and damage, follow our recommendations. Do not stand still, because movement is life. Since you are in permanent light, even a slight slip can lead to a fatal one-shot by a suitcase or large caliber. Try to move perpendicular to possible firing positions. Dive periodically into the terrain to relieve light, and appear in unexpected places. Never ram the enemy if you are not going to commit suicide.

The AMX 13 75 isn’t the best scout in the game. There are many other, much more specialized machines. And our patient has too average parameters to perform outstanding feats. At the same time, the tank cannot be called sloppy either, replays, where they bend rigidly on it – in a network with a shaft. Therefore, this tank can only be recommended for adrenaline-pumping lovers of French cardboard and drums. Moreover, for most cases, the same AMX 12 (t) is suitable, which has the same advantages as the “flea”, but balances it to a lower level. Take it – you will not regret it.
