What do the stars next to weapons mean in TotK

As soon as I started playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, I noticed that I use a lot of different types of weapons, with how quickly they break in the game. One thing that caught my eye was when I was in the dungeon and grabbed a spear from one of the ghost warriors on a pillar of rocks and there was a star next to the name of the spear.

What do the stars next to weapons mean in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

There are two types of stars in Tears of the Kingdom. There is a sparkling star that is displayed on the weapon itself in the upper right corner of the box, and then it is a white star that is displayed next to the name of the weapon. Both have different meanings and I was completely confused by them.

If you look at the weapons in your inventory or quick swap, you may notice that some of your weapons have a spark effect. This indicates the durability of the weapon, with a sheen that shows full durability . Durability will decrease as soon as you use the weapon and the spark will disappear. From now on, the weapon’s durability will decrease as it is used until it flashes red, indicating that it is about to break.

What does the star next to the weapon names mean in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

Some weapons will show a white star next to the weapon’s name, indicating that the weapon is a Flawless Weapon . They deal more damage than regular versions of weapons. In addition, pristine weapons are more likely to have upgrades shown in blue text in quick swap and in your inventory. Not all pristine weapons have upgrades, and some common weapons can also have upgrades.

A good way to get primordial weapons is to explore the Depths . There are Spirit Soldiers , ghostly ghosts that stand on stone pillars and hold weapons. They have a high chance of being a Flawless Weapon, but not all of them. I have amassed a large collection of Flawless Weapons while researching the Depths for Zonaite and Merchant Statutes.
