If you thought giving great fairies rupees in Breath of the Wild was annoying, then unlocking them in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is much more difficult. This time, the Great Fairies moved and locked themselves in their bulbs. They promise to only come out if they hear the music, which means that Link needs to complete a small side quest to get them out of the shell. Here’s what to do.
How to get Great Fairies out of their bulbs in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)
In Tears of the Kingdom, all the Great Fairies moved near the stables – one by one. Forest stable one at a time Duel lances are stable at one Snow stable and final at Outskirts stable .

Together, they miss the music played by a traveling Woodland Stable troupe of musicians called the Stable Trotters , but in order to help them, Link first needs to get a subscription as a reporter for the Lucky Clover Gazette first.

The Lucky Clover Gazette is headquartered in a cottage in front of Rito Village (where the old stable used to be in Breath of the Wild). Talk to Traci (Breath of the Wild gossip) and she will give Link a job as a reporter.

After that, Link can go to the Forest Stable to start the Great Fairy quest. Penn will be outside Woodland’s stables talking to two musicians; talk to him to start Serenade the Great Fairy quest.

In this quest, one of the musicians will complain about Beezer , their broken wagon. Luckily, Link can use the Ultrahand to quickly get a couple of new wheels in there. After that, Link needs to use the horse to deliver the musicians to the nearest Great Fairy. This is done with a tow harness which Link gets for one pony point in any stable.

Once the wagon is attached to Link’s Horse, take the musicians to the nearest Great Fairy, whose light bulb can be found in the Military Training Camp . The cleverly named Violinn will play a tune to get this Great Fairy out of her light bulb.

Great Fairy Cotera is located Duel Peaks are stable , and luckily that’s where the stables have moved. They complain that they miss their drummer Beatz, and it just so happens that the Great Fairy Cortana wants to hear the drumming.

Bitz can be found on the trail in front of Kakariko village where it turns towards Bonoru’s Stand (coordinates 2161, -1380, 0109). To get there, head back from Kakariko Village and look for a crevice in the boulders on the left.

Bitz will be there playing his drum. He asks Link to bring three coarse honey combs . To find them, players need to return to Kakariko Village and climb up to the forest overlooking the city (where the Great Fairy used to be). The coordinates of these forests are 1899, -0906, 0167.
There should be a lot of Rough Honeycomb here to grab them. When I completed this part of the quest, I simply knocked down the comb and ignored the buzzing of the bees. They deal minimal damage to Link. Take three coarse honeycombs and return to Bitts so he can return to the horse trotters.
Although Beetz returns, the Stables still need to cross the river to play as the Great Fairy Kotera. This part of the quest is a bit tricky. Players can find parts for building a raft right along the riverbed, but they need to work in a certain order:
- Take a long wooden raft board
- Attach two fans, a battery and a control stick.
- Talk to all stable trotters (otherwise Link won’t be able to move Beezer)
- Place the Beezer on the raft and place it in front of the water.
- Talk to Beezer and tell him to jump.
- Lead the raft with Beezer to the Great Fairy Cauldron.
If done correctly, the Great Koter Fairy will come out of her light bulb and talk to Link and the other musicians.
How to unlock Great Fairy Kaisa in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)
Although the Great Fairy Kaisu can be found in the stable on the outskirts, Link needs to visit the stable in the Highlands. For efficiency, grab at least 10 Fairy Sunset from Kakariko Village (Link will need them).
Heading to the Highland stables located south of Lake Hylia, Link can find Piper (a flutist for stable trotters) playing his flute on top of a tree in front of the stable (coordinates 0525, -3395, 0048). Piper wants to impress her friend by playing the flute while lighting up the tree.

That’s why he asks for the Sunset Fairies. Once Link gives them to Piper , Link will need to pick up his friend from the Highland stable at night. Piper will play his tune when the tree lights up, and after that he decides to join the group.
Players will find Piper in the group again when they go to the stable on the outskirts where the Great Fairy Kais is located. However, this time they complain that they cannot lift Beezer up the rocky hill. Luckily, there is a huge van right by the stage, almost completely built. Just need one more wheel.

With the Ultrahand steering wheel attached, throw on a couple of fans at the back and stick control. Then place the beezer on the roof of the car. Talk to Mastro (leader of the Stable Trotters) and tell him to jump. Climb up the rocky road and the musicians will play for the Great Fairy Kaisa, luring her out of the bulb.

How to unlock Great Fairy Miju in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)
The Stable Trotters will move into the Snowhead stable, but they will need one last member: Eustis , the horn player. Mastro claims to be in the area of the Tabantia Bridge. It’s actually in a hole on the western edge of Piper Ridge (coordinates -3658, 0760, 0118).

When Link makes his way there, Eustis will be frustrated that he won’t be able to get out of the hole and join his fellow musicians. Luckily, there is a raft with two balloons that can lift the wagon out of the pit. Here is how the players should build the raft:
- Attach two balloons to the front and back ends of the metal plate.
- Place two flame emitters inside the balloons face up.
- Take two fans and attach one to each side.
- Make sure the fans are oriented at a 45 degree angle so they direct air diagonally down and out of the drawer.
- Take the whole assembly and attach it to the roof of Eustice’s wagon.
- Talk to Eustis and tell him to jump.
- Climb onto the crate and activate the devices by pulling Eustis out of the pit.

When all this is done, return to the Snowhead stable where Eustis will join the trotter stables. Now Mastro will complain that Bizer has no roof. However, this is easy to fix; just take a wooden plank and lay it flat on top of the wagon.

If the board is placed well enough, Link can take the horse and pull the wagon with the tow harness. Move to the left of the Great Fairy Miju, and there should be a small path that you can ride up. The musicians will then play their full tune and the Great Fairy Miju will emerge from her light bulb.
