Warface – guide, tricks and tips

Warface is a free multiplayer tactical shooter from Crytec .

A distinctive feature of Warface is that you do not need to install it – you can play directly in the browser. And only a small browser plugin is needed. When you first start the game, all related data will be loaded automatically.

Although it will take a while to download, the game’s graphical splendor will not leave you indifferent.

That the graphics in a browser-based game can be so good is amazing. Therefore, if you are not familiar with Warface yet, you should definitely give the game a try.

Here are some tips and tricks that you might find useful:

The game provides training tasks for beginners

When starting a new game, do not forget to complete the training missions to familiarize yourself with the controls and basic game mechanics of Warface in a relaxed atmosphere, so that later in the heat of the battle you will not have to guess what each key does.

The ESC key opens the game options where you can customize the graphics. Experiment with the settings to keep the game running smoothly and without slowdowns. Dropping speed and staggering in combat can easily lead you to defeat. And don’t forget to adjust your mouse sensitivity.

In the options, you can configure and control. If you are more familiar with the keyboard layout from another game, you can customize Warface for yourself. And take a close look at all the features presented – some of them were not demonstrated in the training missions. For example, you can tackle by pressing F while sprinting, or lay down on the ground by pressing X. You can even make yourself a little cheat sheet if you’re worried about forgetting any of these functions.

Your main weapon hangs on key 1, your spare weapon on key 2, melee weapons on key 3, grenades on key 4, and special equipment on key 5. You can also switch between them using the mouse wheel.

With the left mouse button you shoot from the hip, aim with the right. Aiming will greatly increase the accuracy of your shots, but your field of view will be narrowed and your movement speed will be slowed down.

Your weapons can be upgraded with special equipment such as silencers and optical sights. To install them, open the special menu with the C button.

Warface gives you the ability to change control keys

At the moment, the game has four character classes that you can play: soldier, medic, engineer and sniper. The soldier and sniper are available from the start, and to gain access to the other two classes, you need to advance in rank.

Check out the traits and skills of the different classes. The soldier and sniper are effective in mid-range combat, and can resupply their teammates. The sniper shines in long-range combat. The medic can heal allies, and return to the ranks those who have run out of health, and his shotgun is good in melee. The engineer can patch up the armor of allies and place mines with a motion sensor. He is also a specialist in setting and defusing bombs, and his machine gun is effective at close to medium range.

From the main menu, you can replay the training missions at any time by opening the Help tab and selecting the Basic Training option from the Training section.

Some types of equipment operate for a limited time. This also applies to items purchased from the in-game store. Always look at the expiration date of the item, and purchase spare ones in advance.

The game has 2 modes: PvP and PvE

In a store, you can compare products by clicking on one and then hovering over the other.

There are three types of game currency in Warface: Warface dollars, Crowns and credits. You will receive Warface dollars after each match, Crowns are given for completing special joint missions (against the computer, not other players), and credits are bought for real money.

Before starting a match, you should check the settings in the lobby. There you can choose a class, as well as a seller of weapons and equipment, who will act as a kind of sponsor. After completing the match, you will receive a certain number of points, collecting which, you can get access to new equipment from this seller. There is a progress bar under each product that lets you see how many points you still need to score.

There are two general game modes: co-op mode, where you and up to four other players fight against the computer, and Player versus Player (IPI) mode, where two teams of players fight each other. Novice players can gain experience in co-op mode before trying themselves against other players.

In IPI mode, you have access to several possible channels, depending on your rank. Experienced players are not allowed into the beginner channel and vice versa.

During the day, you can get three special missions. The available missions change every 24 hours, and you need to deposit a certain amount of in-game money to start one of them. You can only start one mission at a time, and for its completion a significant reward is given (which should cover the fee for accessing the mission). Missions are broken down by difficulty level, and the more difficult they are, the greater the reward for completing them.

In addition to special missions, you can receive medals and patches. In fact, they are analogous to the Achievements that you can achieve in many other games.

In an IPI match, you can freely change your class at any time, but in a cooperative match (against the computer), you must choose your class at the very beginning, and play it until the end of this match, so choose carefully. If your team consists entirely of snipers and without a single medic, expect trouble.

After each mission, your equipment, with the exception of the most basic, is subject to wear. Because of this, you cannot just use the same equipment all the time. But it can be repaired for a certain amount, so make sure you have money left over for repairs.
