How to unblock your Snapchat account

If you’ve been acting silly, you may find yourself locked out of your Snapchat account. Fortunately, you can unblock your Snapchat account under certain conditions. The problem is, you’ll have to wait a bit, ask for permission, and deal with why you got blocked in the first place.

Snapchat | How to unlock your account

To unblock your Snapchat account, you will need to visit the official Snapchat website. There you will find the unlock page where you can request access to your account again. Note that you won’t be able to unblock Snapchat again until you remove third-party apps. You may also need to verify your email address or phone number.

Before trying to get back to your account, you need to ask yourself why you were blocked to begin with. Attempting to take screenshots without the other user knowing is a common cause for freezes. Use of third-party apps is prohibited by Snapchat’s Terms of Service and must be removed before you can use the app again. Spam messages can also result in a block, as can reports resulting from abusive behavior such as unsolicited messages.

Most temporary lockdowns last 24 hours. You won’t be able to unlock your account until a long time has passed. Serious complaints or breaches of the terms of service can lead to longer blocks or even permanent bans. If you are slapped with a permanent block, there is nothing you can do to get back to your account.

If you wait until the timeout expires and uninstall third-party apps, you can request unlocking of a Snapchat account via the website. Unless you have any other restrictions, you may also need to verify your email address or phone number. From here on out, you’d be wise to be on your best behavior.
