One time when the evening prayer arrived, Amir, Syamsul, Umar and Lia went to the mosque simultaneously from their respective homes. They will all perform the Maghrib prayer at the Masjid al-Hakim which is not far from their home.
On the way they met with Mr. Ali, who also wanted to perform the Maghrib prayer in congregation. The children then saluted Mr. Ali. Pak Ali quickly answered their greetings.
While walking with Mr. Ali invites the children to not be busy when the prayer is being held, Mr. Ali told them to read Surah Al-Fatihah while the Imam was standing and listen to the reading of short letters read by the Imam. They also agreed to Mr. Ali’s invitation.
What is Surat Al-Fatihah
The children said yes to Mr. Ali’s invitation because indeed a few days before they had a little lesson and an explanation of what was Surat al-Fatihah ??
Surah al-Fatihah in accordance with its meaning is the letter ‘Opener’. in addition to its opening, this letter is also used to initiate the Koran that we read. This letter consists of seven verses and belongs to the Makkiyah letter class. The letter was revealed in the city of Mecca.

Pak Ali who taught about reciting Surah al-Fatihah was also briefly asked by the children about whether there was another designation for Surah al-Fatihah. Pak Ali quickly answered, “There certainly are, many designations for al-Fatihah.
The mention of al-Fatihah is Umm al-Kitaab which means the Mother of the Qur’an, and there are also those who call it Ash-Syifaa which means “healer or medicine”. The mention of Surat al-Fatihah as a drug is based on the hadith narrated by Abdul Malik bin ‘Umairin where the Messenger of Allah said as follows:
«فِي فَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ شِفَاءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ» (رواه الدّارمي)
Meaning:
“In the letter of al-Fatihah there is a healer of various diseases” (HR. Darimi)

Learn About Surat al-Ikhlash
