How to reset TomTom.In some circumstances, it may be necessary to reset your TomTom GPS device. The process to reset these drives is quite simple, although it varies based on the type of drive you use. Some restoration steps are common among several of the most popular TomTom GPS devices.
TomTom 630, 730 and 930
Step 1
Charge the battery before starting. TomTom suggests allowing the device to charge for at least two hours before resetting it.
Step 2
Remove the SD card from the device from the slot.
Step 3
Find the hole for the “Reset” button on the device.
Step 4
Press and hold the “Reset” button for 10-15 seconds or until the device resets. You will need a straight paper clip or other small metal object to get inside the hole.
Step 5
Turn your TomTom back on and insert your SD card. You have already restored your device.
TomTom Go 910 and 510
Step 1
Remove the SD card from your TomTom.
Step 2
Find the hole for the “Reset” button on the bottom of the device.
Step 3
Press the “Reset” button for 15 seconds using a straight paper clip. The device will be restored.
Step 4
Turn on the device and insert the SD card. The restoration process is complete.
omTom Go 740, XL 330 and 340 and One 125, 130 and 140
Step 1
Charge your TomTom for at least two hours.
Step 2
Find the “Power” button. It’s in the upper-right corner of each device.
Step 3
Hold down the “Power” button until the device resets. TomTom notes that this restore process can take more than 15 seconds.
Step 4
Release the “Power” button once the device resets
