How to remotely control an Android mobile

The other day my sister called to tell me that Gmail had stopped working. He tried to explain to me what the problem was over the phone, and although we managed to solve it quite quickly, the truth is that it would have been much easier if he had connected me remotely to his Android device to see everything first-hand.

In the same way that there are tools to access a PC and control it remotely from an Android phone (here you can see a guide to the most outstanding ones ), there are also applications that work in reverse. That is, PC applications with which we can remotely control an Android phone .

Some of these remote desktop utilities are also available for mobile platforms, which means that we can even capture an Android device directly from another Android.

How to remotely control an Android device via remote desktop

The Internet is full of tutorials on how to use the TeamViewer capture tool , so to make this post a little more interesting and different from the rest, we are going to explain how to connect from an Android mobile to another Android mobile using the AnyDesk app .

  • Download and install the AnyDesk app on both the source and destination Android devices. The application is free and available on the Play Store .
  • On the target Android mobile(that is, the device to be controlled remotely) we will also have to install an additional app called “AnyDesk control plugin (ad1)”. This app is available on the Play Store .
  • In addition to this, it is necessary that in the destination mobilewe give remote control permission to AnyDesk (from “Settings -> Accessibility”) as the application suggests the first time we open it.

Once we have all this ready, we can start the remote control process:

  • Open the AnyDesk app on both Android devices.
  • On the target Android device, write down the nine numbers that appear in “Your address”.
  • Enter these nine numbers on the source Android device, in the “Remote address” field and click on the red arrow button (->) to launch the connection request.
  • On the target Android device we will see a warning message. Click on “Accept”.
  • Then we will see the connection request message. Accept the request.

And ready! The source Android mobile will take control of the destination Android. That means we can control it remotely using the phone’s touch screen, as if we were holding it in our own hands.

On the right side of the screen we will also see a menu wheel with different options, from where we can send files, record the video session or take screenshots, among others.

From the general configuration menu of AnyDesk we can also make certain settings related to the security of the connections, configure a VPN, data entry via keyboard and mouse, etc.

It is clear that AnyDesk is not as popular as TeamViewer, although in the tests we have been doing the truth is that it has given quite satisfactory results. What do you think of this application? Read on in the comments area!
