In 2015, Steam introduced the ability to return money for purchased games. The reason can be any: from a trivial mistake to dissatisfaction with the quality of the product. However, if you violate the conditions that are spelled out in the user agreement, then the return will not be possible. Conditions for returning a game to Steam
- You bought the game not earlier than 2 weeks ago.
- You spent no more than 2 hours in it.
In exceptional cases, your application may be approved even if one of these conditions has been violated.
With purchased add-ons, the situation is more complicated – it is important that you do not spend additional content that goes to gain experience or obtain unique items. Some DLCs cannot be returned at all.
Refunds for Cyberpunk 2077 are an exception to the rule. Usually, if you have played for more than two hours, the money will not be returned to you.
Conditions for returning a set of products
- The set does not include add-ons for which there is no refund.
- You purchased it at least two weeks ago.
- In total, you spent no more than two hours playing the games from this set.
The return of one game or add-on from the set is not provided. You can return money only for the entire set, subject to all conditions.

How do I get a refund?
- Launch the Steam client and open the Library menu.
- Select the product you want to return. If we are talking about an add-on, you need to indicate the game for which it is intended. If it’s not on the DLC list, open the Show All DLC menu.
- Click on “Support” in the lower right corner.
- Please provide a reason for the refund and then select I would like to request a refund.
- Submit your request.
After that, the support service will consider your issue. If he decides positively, then the money will be returned to the account from which you made the purchase.
It is also worth noting that games that were purchased on third-party services or where you were blocked for cheating are non-refundable
