How to farm in Outriders

Outriders is a game that focuses on acquiring new and better equipment. This acquisition process involves completing missions, defeating enemies, and farming whatever you want. Since he is a looter-shooter, farming is a viable means of decking out your hero with whatever gear you want. That said, the cultivation process is a bit strange. For more information on how to farm in Outriders, check out our guide below.

Note : The following information is based on the demonstration. Things can change before or at launch.

Farm / Enemy Chests in Main Story Missions

Current Goal : Farm all four chests in and around Gauss’s boss area. This area is accessible during the Confront the Altered at the Tower story mission. Each race can give you approximately 8 pieces of loot depending on what the chests drop. It takes around 1-3 minutes depending on the Gauss fight.

One of the first ways that gear acquisition comes to you is item chests. These chests appear during story missions and, when opened, produce a piece of gear or two. These gear chests remain open after completing the story mission in which you found them. If you want to farm chests for the team, you’ll want to replay the story missions.

The methods for replaying the story missions in Outriders are a bit of a hassle. First, you can simply choose to join the games of other players who have not yet played the story mission. This method is quick and easy if you have friends playing. You can also look for strangers to play with. The second approach is to actively reproduce the story missions. This can be done from the game lobby screen in the Select story point option. This option allows you to revert your game progress to previous missions, allowing you to replay the missions as many times as you like. When you’re done farming a quest, make sure to change the progress again using the above method.

The story quest farming method is good for opening gear chests and that’s it. If you’re running story missions you’ll want to grab whatever gear chests you find along the way to maximize the return. This will allow you to acquire a good amount of equipment with relative ease. Enemies you encounter in story missions also have a loot chance, but the method below is best for enemy farming.

Farm side missions

Outside of the main story quest path there are a number of side quests that players can encounter while in the world of Outriders. These side missions generally involve accessing a secondary area of the main map. At the end of these areas is a champion enemy. These champion enemies can be cultivated relatively easily for their drops.

To farm side quests after you’ve completed them, simply go up to the NPC giving you the quest and talk to him again. In the dialogue tree you will find the option to replay side missions that you have been given. Choose this option to restart the side quest.

Current Goal : Farm Lieutenant McCain during the side quest called Terra Infirma that Shira gave you in Rift Town.

When the side quest is activated, you will gain access to the location where the quest takes place. Head there and complete the side quest to the champion’s room (the last room in the area). This is where the growing method comes in. To farm a champion enemy, do the following:

Defeat the champion while leaving some add-ons. Collect the loot dropped by the champion. Die to add. Repeat 1 + 2.

By following the steps above, you can collect the drops from the enemy champion indefinitely, as you will return to the checkpoint at the beginning of the room. Make sure to catch the drops before you die, as they disappear when you die. Death will lower the world level, but it will not lower it one level (meaning it will remain at WT5, for example) even if the WT bar is empty.

I have used the above methods to cultivate the different legends currently in the game. Using the above methods, you will be inundated with different items of equipment, including weapons and armor. This will allow you to equip your hero with strong gear fairly quickly. If you have any more suggestions for farming, let me know in the comments.
