How to complete the Pokédex in Pokémon Sword
Even if you are looking for information only on how to complete the Pokédex in Pokémon Sword , I warn you right now: not all Pokémon are available in the game, because some are exclusive to Pokémon Shield ; that’s why to have them all you will have to resort to exchanges with other players or pay attention to possible special events . In general, I recommend that you catch all the Pokémon you encounter during the adventure (even in raids) because this will allow you to get to the end with a good part of the work already done. If you have already finished the adventure, you should at least inspect the length and breadth of the Wilds , which – as you no doubt know – are inhabited by many Pokémon, which change depending on the weather conditions and other factors: think, to example, to Dragapult or to Deino , which I will tell you about later in this tutorial .
Having made these clarifications, I just have to get to the heart of the guide to catching Pokémon.
Main adventure
The main adventure ends with the capture of Zacian . In this regard, I remind you that to unlock his King of Swords form , which gives him the Steel type in addition to the Fairy type , you must give him the Ruined Sword tool , which is obtained at the end of the story.
I would like to focus for a moment on Farfetch’d’s Galar form and its evolved form, Sirfetch’d . First, catch a Farfetch’d in the tall grass on Route 5 , just after Turffield . At 5 Diglett you will be given an Alolan Meowth , at 10 a Kanto Slowpoke , at 20 an Alolan Vulpix , at 30 an Alolan Sandshrew , at 40 an Alolan Raichu , at 50 an Alolan Marowak , at 75 an Exeggutor of Alola , to 150 a Diglett of Alola . At 100 Diglett you can receive a Rowlet, a Litten or a Popplio depending on whether you have chosen Grookey , Scorbunny , respectivelyo Subble at the start of Pokémon Sword or Shield.

Dynamax Adventures are instantly unlockable: just exit the Crown Snowy Lands station and go left until you find a cave. Then talk to the characters you see, to start fighting. I remind you that, in this mode, the creatures that can be captured in Pokémon Sword are Dialga , Groudon , Ho-Oh , Latios , Reshiram , Solgaleo , Tornadus and Xerneas .
Dynamax In the adventure, you can also find the Ultracreature , but on one condition: you have to unravel all the mysteries of Peony legends . When you do, in the house he rented will you find a piece of paper, the Legend? .

The other adventure that you can complete, the legendary winged pokémon tree , is the one that allows you to capture the Galar forms of Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres : go to the shore of Lake Ball , approach the giant tree that you will certainly have noticed and watch the sequence in which the three legendaries collide.
At this point, Articuno , Zapdos and Moltres will flee all over Galar and you will need to have some patience because getting them, unfortunately, is simply a fruit of chance. Before setting out on their trail, remember to shake the giant tree: after the battle, an infinity of berries will fall that will be very useful for the competitive game.
How to catch Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres? I’ll explain it to you immediately. Zapdos can be found around the Wild Lands ; Moltres, on the other hand, flies all over the Isle of Armor . The most difficult to catch is Articuno, which is found in the snowy lands : the Pokémon, in fact, will create copies of itself that will begin to revolve around it; if you touch the wrong copy, the legendary bird will go away and you will have to search for it again.
My advice is this: save the game as soon as you see Articuno; at that point, try to see which Pokémon raises its wing, before the copies start spinning – that’s the real Articuno.
The legend The sealed doors and the legendary giants
The last legend to check is the one called The Sealed Doors and the Legendary Giants and allows you to catch Registeel , Regice and Regirock , who, as you may know, are not eighth generation pokémon. The new ones that you can add to your collection are Regieleki and Regidrago : they are not exclusive to one or the other version but you can only choose one, while the other you will have to obtain it in other ways (exchanges with friends, possible events etc.).
The first legendary giant I tell you about (but you can capture them in any order you like) is Registeel and is located at the beginning of the Giant’s Bed : leave the town of Freezedale and always keep to the right to find it. On the door of the temple, you will find the inscription Make echo a sound capable of awakening the Giant of Steel . What to do? Simple: press the analog stick to whistle and open the door.
The other legendary to be captured is Regice : it is located precisely in the snowy Valley , the road that must be taken to get to the Crown Temple . Before entering the Giant’s Bed, do not turn right but left, and follow a slope: this is how you will quickly arrive at the new temple.
On the door, this time it says Walk with a living snow crystal ; this means that you have to put Cryogonal in the first place among the pokémon of your team (the creature is easily found near the temple, or near the station: it is not rare at all).
Now, you need to capture the legendary Regirock , which is located in the easternmost area of the Giant’s Bed. Finding it is very simple: exit Freezedale , keep left until you reach a crossroads, now go right along the descent and go beyond the ancient cemetery ; you will find another fork, keep right and go forward always staying close to the stream until you reach the temple. In this case, the riddle is Give the stone that makes the first Pokémon immutable ; in other words, you have to give the Stone Stone to the first pokémon on your team to open the door.
As I said, the two new Regi of Pokémon Sword and Shield are Regieleki and Regidrago ; they are both located in the Campo Trivio . To get there, go to the Ancient Cemetery , and, instead of turning right, go left; continue until you enter a cave where there is a beach ; now, enter the water and go right until you reach a path that will lead you straight to the ruin.

Other pokémon that can be captured
Now let’s talk about other Pokémon you may want to catch. For example, you may have some difficulty finding Keldeo , so I’ll explain immediately how to avoid making you “crazy”.
From the beginning of the game, Sonia asks you to search for 150 traces of the Solemn Swordsmen : it is, in essence, to find the 50 footprints of Cobalion , the 50 footprints of Terrakion and the 50 footprints of Virizion . Once the quest is over, all you have to do is return to her to start the capture of Keldeo.
In this regard, I remind you that most of Cobalion’s footprints are found in the Fragormare Cave , although some are scattered here and there in the Giant’s Bed and its surroundings; their color is cobalt blue and they are small . As for Terrakion’s footsteps , most of them are inside the Rivalago Cave , but you must also explore the Dynalbero Hill and nearby areas to find them all; their color is brown and they are large . Finally, regarding Virizion’s footsteps , most of them are found in the Giant’s Bedand in the neighboring areas; their color is green and they are small too.
Once you have found all the footprints of each creature, go back to talk to Sonia in Freezedale to let you reveal the precise location: Cobalion can be found in the Icy Sea , Terrakion in the Rivalago Cave and Virizion in the Giant’s Bed . Having shown all three pokémon to the scholar, she will return to her laboratory in Brassbury to continue her research; once the dialogues are over, you can face the pokémon Keldeo by following a few simple tips.
First of all, put Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion in the team , then go to the Dynalbero Hill and use the bicycle to reach an islet that you find on the stretch of water ; you will immediately see luminous footprints next to a pot leaning against a tree to your left: this indicates that you need to enter Camping mode and get busy with some recipes.
Nothing impossible, however: cook the curry of your choice , exit Camping mode and head towards the center of the island because Keldeo is waiting for you right there. The form in which it will manifest is the resolute one , since it has the Spadamistica move ; to have it in the ordinary form, therefore, you have to go to a pokémon center and eliminate that move using the Move Eliminator .
Finally, as far as Slowking di Galar is concerned , the procedure is more or less similar to the one I explained to you to find Slowbro : reach the Fragormare Caves in the way you think is most appropriate; once you enter the caves, always go east until you reach the exit and the Icy Sea ; going west , you can find the entrance to another cave, where there is a female character who will make you a Corona Galarnoce for 15 Rami Galarnoce ; obtained the Crown, give it to Slowpoke and the pokémon will evolve to the first level up.
Pokémon exclusive to Pokémon Sword and Shield
To conclude, let me remind you which pokémon you cannot normally find in Pokémon Sword : by “normally” I mean that to get them you have to resort to either exchanges or raids with players who have Pokémon Shield.
These are, in particular, the Galar forms of Corsola, Ponyta and Rapidash , of Appletune , Cursola , and Eiscue , the feminine form of Indeedee and the legendary Zamazenta . Regarding dynamax adventures , however, the pocket creatures that you can capture in Pokémon Shield during dynamax adventures are Lugia , Latias , Kyogre , Palkia , Thundurus , Zekrom , Yveltal and Lunala .
Another clarification: do not worry about the Gigamax forms , since, during the adventure in the Armor Island, the Dynamax Soup object will be unlocked which allows you to develop the Gigamax form to the Pokémon that are able to possess it. : Just bring 3 Funghimax to the cooking master in the Master Dojo.
As for the Gigamax form of Urshifu , to have it you must complete the mission that unlocks after obtaining it towards the end of the DLC: Urshifu, in fact, does not like the Dynamax Soup and you need the Mielemax produced by a Vespiquen dyanamax .
