Pokémon Unite: How to Unlock Pokémon and License Costs

TiMi Studio and The Pokémon Company’s ‘free-to-play’ MOBA, Pokémon Unite , launched on Nintendo Switch with a relatively short cast of Pokémon , with Gardevoir joining and more to come in the near future. In addition to Zeraora , exclusive to claim until August 31. As the mobile version arrived in September, that would be an offer only for Nintendo Switch users.

After completing the tutorial, players can choose one of several Pokémon to unlock. In the same way, it is possible to unlock Pokémon through challenges and temporary events, either by completing the objectives or just participating in them.

For their part, some Pokémon are only available with a Unite License, an object that allows the creatures to be used at any time and in any way. Licenses cost ‘Aeos Coins’ or ‘Aeos Gems ‘, so players must invest their hard-earned virtual money, or dip into the real as a shortcut.

The standard mode also offers a rotation of Pokémon to try for free without having to unlock them by other means.

Free Pokémon in Pokémon Unite

Starter pokemon

Once the game is downloaded and started and launched into the tutorial , where we learn the basic plays, we must choose a starting Pokémon as soon as the introduction ends. It has been the equivalent of choosing one of three in the main Pokémon RPGs , which means that it is the first Pokémon that you can use in online encounters.

The five Pokémon you can choose from after the tutorial are:

  • Pikachu
  • Charizard
  • Snorlax
  • Talonflame
  • Eldegoss

Challenges and rewards for events

After unlocking their starter Pokémon, players can obtain the other Pokémon simply by playing matches, completing challenges, and logging in daily. Some of the Pokémon available as rewards are only available for a limited time. If you buy a license and then get the same Pokémon as a reward, it will be recognized as a duplicate item. From this duplicate you can receive Aeon Coins (the cost of the Pokémon) in return.

These are the Pokémon that you can currently get as rewards.

  • Zeraora: gift for downloading and starting Pokémon Unite before August 31.
  • Slowbro: Reach trainer level 2.
  • Venusaur: Reach trainer level 5.
  • Alolan Ninetales– Bonus Day 2 for the ’14 Days of Welcome Gifts’ event.
  • Cinderace– Day 8 Bonus for the ’14 Days of Welcome Gifts’ event.
  • Greninja– Bonus Day 14 for the ’14 Days of Welcome Gifts’ event.
  • Crustle– Complete all seven steps of the ‘Beginner Challenge’.
