How to beat Battle of Coil Moil Boss in Scarlet Nexus
Coil Moil has a shell of armor on its body that must be broken in order for you to deal significant damage. The easiest way to do this is to use Tsugumi’s last-second dodge ability. His Level 2 Clairvoyance automatically breaks all armor in one hit with a successful counterattack after dodging it in the last second.
Once you break the armor, Coil Moil will fall off. When you do, aim for the round growths on your back – that’s your weak point. Use special psychokinesis jets with Hanabi’s Pyrokinesis abilities to deal great damage.
Defensively, you will need to be careful with a series of attacks. Coil Moil can spawn pillars of basement ice, blow icy wind through the hole in its face, and hit you with its arms when you’re too close. It will occasionally shoot water as well, which can prevent you from using your dodge if you get wet, so be sure to avoid that with Luka’s teleport.
Use Gemma’s sclerokinesis to nullify damage when making special casts, and use teleportation to get closer when Coil Moil yells pillars of water to surround her. He will also dig underground from time to time, and then resurface in his restored armor, so the cycle will start over.
At low health, Coil Moil adds new attacks to boss combat. One is a slow, strong blow with one of your arms. Use Clairvoyance to easily dodge this one and destroy his armor again. The other new attack shoots floating bubbles that attack you one by one. Pay attention to where they are so they don’t come at you in unexpected directions, or just use sclerokinesis to avoid hurting yourself for a short time.
The new attacks are not too difficult to deal with. Continue the same dodge / attack pattern as before to get Brain Crushes while emptying the Coil Moil Crush meter. Repeat this process until you have removed it for good.
