How does the new chemistry system in FIFA 23 work?

We take a closer look at the new FUT Chemistry system in FIFA 23 and how you can use the mechanics to your advantage as part of our guide.

FIFA 23 modifies an important part of the structure of Ultimate Team. The chemistry system changes completely to give users more flexibility when creating their teams. The strict system seen so far leaves aside the popular color connections and loyalty to the trainer. We tell you everything you need to take into account.

How does the new chemistry system in FIFA 23 work?

The chemistry system introduced in FIFA 23 allows each individual player to influence the behavior of other players, regardless of whether they are in close positions. Contrary to the connections seen in the last decade, everyone here contributes to reaching 33 chemistry points , the maximum allowed in a team.

A player’s chemistry level is determined by up to three points: the more you have, the more bonuses your stats will have. Keep in mind that this system does not have a negative impact on the players , that is, a player without chemistry will perform the performance indicated by his basic statistics on it. All reinforcement will be positive as long as the position of your item matches where you place it. An out of position player will not contribute to team chemistry.

Three elements determine a player’s chemistry: nationality, league, and team . Each of them grants between one and three chemistry points depending on the number of players who join it. For example, a club distributes a chemistry point when two players add to their locker; if they add up to four, distribute two points; and if they add up to seven, deal three.

The position change item is now unique and allows you to choose between a player’s secondary roles.

Let’s take Real Madrid as an example. If I put Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio on my team, they will get a chemistry point for reaching the first club level . To make them grow, the easiest thing is to incorporate another player from LaLiga Santander, like Pau Torres. Being three players from the same competition will receive a chemistry point; by matching nationality between Torres and Asensio, they add another point. In this way we would have Eden Hazard and Pau Torres with two chemistry points, while Marco Asensio will have three. On the other hand, the trainer’s loyalty is completely removed. His article, in addition to rewarding renewals, adds a point for his nationality and league in which he plays.

The Chemistry Point Dance gives you the flexibility to create a hybrid club without the limitations of the previous system. In our case we have formed a team that includes three leagues, six clubs and seven different nationalities . With this we have achieved a total of 31 chemistry points, only two from the full. And you still have room to optimize it. This is how the chemistry is distributed in our club:

  • LaLiga Santander: 2 points
  • Spain: 2 points
  • Premier League: 2 points
  • Real Madrid: 1 point
  • Chelsea: 1 point
  • Liverpool: 1 point
  • Villarreal: 1 point
