How are the AirTags configured?

How do AirTags work?
AirTags have three search options: Play Sound , Search Nearby, and Lost Mode .

The AirTags are linked to your iPhone with Bluetooth technology , a range similar to that used by Bluetooth speakers, depending on where you are, the walls and other elements, there is a range of about 20 meters for the search. From the Search application on your iPhone you will see where your AirTags are and you can make them emit a sound .

AirTag Lost Mode
Imagine you have your AirTag attached to your keys , they have fallen out of your pocket, and the drama begins! If you go to the Search application from your iPhone, you will see the last place where your AirTag had communication with your phone .
What you have to do if they are no longer in this location is to activate the Lost Mode of the AirTag , in this way it will be blocked, and anyone who finds it will not be able to take advantage of it for another object.
You can also add a phone number and a contact in the AirTag so that whoever finds it knows how to return it, just by bringing the AirTag to the iPhone or an Android through NFC technology, it will give you all the information.
How does lost mode work on AirTags?
The AirTag is supported by other Apple devices that are around it, in fact there are more than 1 billion around the world . The AirTag searches approximately every 15 minutes nearby devices, and sends you the last known location. Keep in mind that the AirTag is not a GPS, so its main use is for everyday objects.
Example of how lost mode works with the AirTag
You do not know if you have left your gym backpack that carries an AirTag in your pocket, at the gym or at the office, and when you get home you have doubts, where have I forgotten? The AirTag will connect to iPhones that pass near it, in the gym or office, so you will know where to go to look for it.
