Most expensive series in history

Although we are used to the fact that large audiovisual productions are destined for films, more and more series are being produced with such high quality and scenery that it is necessary to have very high budgets. But only the most recent series are those that cost more to produce? Today we are going to know which are the 5 most expensive series in history .

  1. Game of Thrones. Many would think that the series that makes the most money in each chapter is Game of Thrones, and although it is not the most expensive, it is the fifth in this ranking. In each season, the producers surprise us more and more to the spectators with own chapters of a Hollywood movie, and it is logical since they have a budget of 10 million dollars .
  2. Friends. To the surprise of many, the legendary comedy ‘Friends’ is the fourth most expensive film. And if you have seen it, you will know that its production costs did not seem very high since they did not have unusual sets, costumes or recreations. However, its six protagonists made a pact to ask for a million dollars per episode, something that caused the series budget to skyrocket completely (an average of 10 million dollars ).
  3. Emergencies. And another of the series that we could see years ago and which is topped in this ranking as the third most expensive in history is ER. Here we saw a young George Clooney, before becoming one of Hollywood’s favorite actors, and although he started with a budget per chapter that did not reach 2 million, he ended up with an average of $ 13 million .
  4. The Get Down. And if we have reviewed so far current series and also more than a decade old, now we come to one of the last series that has been released: “The get down”. Recreate the 1970s in the Bronx neighborhood of New York. Hand in hand with the director of Moulin Rouge, we are transported to another era since a large part of this high budget ( around 16 million per chapter ) has been destined for the viewer to be totally immersed in the environment that they want to represent.
  5. The Crown. And the series with the highest budget so far is “The Crown”, a review of the life of Queen Elizabeth II that has not been anything cheap since it has cost the Netflix platform $ 130 million . It is also from the Netflix platform and has figures very similar to those of ‘The get down’.
