Delaviuda

Delaviuda. Leading group in the production of nougat, marzipan and confectionery.

History

The origin of this great company is humble and familiar. It marks the way of seeing things in the artisan elaboration of the products that are attached to the roots. The year is 1927 , when Manuel López and María Rojas open a small confectionery in the province of Toledo. D. Manuel, who had learned the trade from a very young age, thus followed a family tradition. The confectionery gradually gains the trust of its customers. But, as in life, difficulties appear when least expected, and in 1939D. Manuel dies. Ms María, a widow with two children, continues the family business. With his effort and tenacity he not only manages to take the confectionery forward, but also makes it increasingly popular. The products made in the small workshop evolve, but without losing sight of its secret: the tradition and quality of its recipes. More and more customers appreciate his know-how. And it is precisely these, which little by little are creating the brand every time they go looking for “de la Viuda” sweets.
