Can you dismantle your hideout in Sons of the Forest

Can you dismantle your hideout in Sons of the Forest? How to dismantle the tent and move to another location? After the helicopter crash you have to find your way in the world of the new survival game. Most players will start out building a fire and a shelter, which in Sons of the Forest is just a simple tent made out of a tarp and a stick or two. At the tent you can not only sleep, but also save the game . But what does it actually look like if you want to dismantle the tent? Can you change the position of the “base” and dismantle the tent and set it up somewhere else?

Dismantle and move the tent

Yes, you can disassemble the tent at any time into its individual parts, or rather into the tarpaulin and sticks. All you have to do is stand by the tent, aim at the tarpaulin and press and hold the C button. Then the stick or sticks and the tarpaulin are separated and you can take the tarpaulin with you again. Alternatively, you can also take the ax in your hand and smash the sticks from the tent. This also causes the tarpaulin to land on the ground and you can take it with you.

Depending on how much time you have already spent at the place, one or the other player may have already crafted other items in addition to the tent and already built a wooden hut. You can also disassemble these items into their individual parts and move them to another location, although this is not that easy due to the number of individual parts. Of course, the latter also depends on where you want to move the base and tent.

Incidentally, not all objects can be broken down into their individual parts. In our test, we were able to dismantle the wooden hut from roof to floor, but we could not disassemble the bed made of sticks and tape or the table made of tree trunks. So far it is unclear whether this is a bug or a desired behavior. Even if you break the items with the axe, you won’t get any materials back. Presumably, these items and objects are not intended for dismantling and moving.
