In the new Harry Potter game there is a lot to explore and discover both inside and outside of Hogwarts Castle. As the game progresses, one or two players may ask themselves how do you actually get into the headmaster’s office and how can you get past the gargoyle in front of the office door? If you’re asking yourself the same question, this short guide to the location of the headmaster’s office in Hogwarts Castle can certainly help.
Principal’s office
Before you can go to the headmaster’s office in the castle, you have to play for a while and complete some main quests. More specifically, you must be at least level 23 in terms of level and have completed the main quest called “The Headmistress Speaks”. The headmaster’s is only unlocked as part of the “The Polyjuice Complete” quest.
- In the quest, you must first travel to Fig’s classroom and speak to him there. In the conversation one learns that one can find out the password from the headmaster’s house elf named Scrope. But the house-elf doesn’t give out the password so easily.
- Professor Fig has already thought of something here, namely a polyjuice potion. With the polyjuice potion you can at least visually transform into the headmaster.
- Then you have to find the house elf. The flight instructor knows more about his current location. Good Madam Kogawa can be found on the bridge in front of the great hall at Hogwarts. In the conversation you then learn from her that she last saw the house-elf in the great hall.
- When you arrive in the great hall, Professor Weasley greets you. After talking to her, you can find the house-elf in the dining room and learn the password through the conversation dialog.
- Finally, you have to hide in the next room behind the changing room, since the effect of the potion slowly wears off. With the password “Pure Toujours” you can now enter the Headmaster’s Office and start the fourth trial of Niamh Fitzgerald at the same time.
Enter Headmaster’s Office
- Teleport via fast travel to the “trophy room” flea flame by the grand staircase.
- Turn 180 degrees from the flea flame, walk straight through the room, then turn right at the horseman/rider statue, go through the door and run up the stairs.
- Follow the path further up the stairs and go through the door on the right. Walk to the left behind the door and you will see a gargoyle statue, which you can now whisper the “Pure Toujours” password to. The gargoyle then disappears and a new set of stairs appears up which leads to the headmaster’s office.
By the way, there are some level 3 locksmiths in the office. Behind the locks and doors are some chests with gold and equipment.
