Spirulina algae is a plant with great properties already known to promote weight loss, which however also shows a strong antitumor capacity , brings benefits to the thyroid if used correctly but above all allows it to be used as a strong food supplement with restorative capabilities because rich in vitamins and minerals.
The properties and uses of spirulina algae
Spirulina alga is a microscopic aquatic plant, it belongs to the family of blue-green Aghe. Two species of algae are used, the spirulina maxima and spirulina plantensis, for the preparation of components for food purposes such as supplements for the very vast richness of vitamins, proteins, carotenoids, minerals and essential fatty acids contained in it.
A plant that still today is still subject to many studies
Many researches still today have new importance on the uses of this alga, an example is the hypothesis made by some researchers on how the aqueous extract of spirluina is able to hinder the reproduction of HIV-1 virus (AIDS) but not only because a research in Belarus has demonstrated the ability of this alga to fight the absorption of radiation in humans, leading to positive results in patients’ urine. This research is still ongoing but already promises positive results for the future.
The uses of spirulina algae in food and against tumors
Spirulina algae has different feeding capacities as a dietary supplement to bring about a substantial reduction in fatigue and exhaustion thanks to its contents: proteins (50-70%), carbohydrates, vitamins (A, E, B12, B3, B1, folic acid), chlorophyll, copper, magnesium, zinc, potassium , calcium spirulan. (calcium spirulan, is a polysaccharide which is attributed the antiviral properties of spirulina.)
The therapeutic use of seaweed against tumors is suggested by various clinical tests for diseases affecting the mouth, neurogenerative diseases and to combat premature aging. But not only because it allows a substantial reduction of total hypercholesterolemia and for the reduction of body weight, it is also a powerful antioxidant and as such helps to combat many diseases, we recommend a moderate use for the iodine content for those suffering from problems with thyroid.
