6 tips to start playing Fortnite

Fortnite has arrived for Android and you, who never played, want to take a chance on your phone over the weekend? Know that the game, the most popular in the Battle Royale genre, is a little more complex than it looks. The matches bring together a few dozen people on an extensive map, in which you arrive by flying on a bus. You start with a pickaxe, and the best items and equipment are scattered and hidden across the huge map. In addition, a strong storm surrounds the arena, creating a barrier around it that shrinks the playable space from time to time.

It is necessary, then, to have a good dose of strategy to progress in the matches. But nothing that some training time and some tips do not help to solve. We separated six of them, aimed at those who have no practice with Fortnite and will start playing now. Check it out below:

  1. Choose where to land. If you decide to play on a team, it’s cool to follow your teammates. If you lose it in the jump, look for their points on the map. If you are alone, it may be smarter to stay away from opponents, who may be more experienced.
  2. Stay tuned for weapons. If you have stayed away from other players, take the time to look for items, ammo and chests inside the buildings. The ideal is to diversify and not stick with just one type of weapon, until you find out which one you prefer. And stay tuned in colors: golden items are rarer and stronger, followed by oranges, purples, blues, greens and grays.
  3. Don’t stay out of the safe zone. The Fortnite map gradually decreases to bring players closer to each other. So, be careful not to be left out of the barrier already mentioned.
  4. Play with a headset. So you can hear everything around you and prevent other people from taking you by surprise. Headphones can also help you find the rarest treasure chests: just listen and follow the noise they make.
  5. Build, build and build. One of the coolest mechanics in Fortnite is that you can build walls to protect yourself and even bridges to get from place to place. Of course, you will need the right materials, like stones and wood found on the map. But don’t try to mine or cut trees near other people, as it is a noisy process that can reveal your position.
  6. Don’t forget the items to regain life. In addition to the weapons, the chests and the map are full of items and food that you can use to regain life. Did you run away from someone who was attacking you, but you ran out of HP (hit points)? Use these items to last a little longer.

In addition to the newly released version for some Androids, Fortnite is also available for free on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and iOS. It is possible to play with those on other platforms – only the PS4 has a certain limitation with other consoles.
