4 easy ways to increase your intelligence

Our brain is just like any muscle in the body. It needs training to not fall asleep. And it actually does not take much to keep your brain in shape and make you more focused and quick-thinking when needed.

Exercise regularly
Let some form of exercise become a natural part of your everyday life. Exercising physically clears the skull of anxiety, stress and negative thoughts, which creates more energy for thinking clearly and logically.

2. Read books
Now I do not mean that you should waste time on all harmless Swedish detective stories or clumsy “feel-good” books, but challenge yourself with a little more difficult literature. Choose books that make you think a little, there are many classics that challenge the senses. Try e.g. “The Master and Margarita” by Mikhail Bulgakov. It doesn’t matter if you do not understand everything you read. The important thing is that you let the brain work and be challenged with new impressions.

3. Sleep well
A rested brain is a happy brain. Turn off your mobile phone when you go to bed. Sleep well as often as you can. If you have the opportunity to take a nap in the middle of the day, do so. It restarts your brain and makes you more alert and efficient for the rest of the day.

4. Give yourself time for reflection
All your waking time does not have to be full of activities. If you travel by bus, train or tram to work, you have probably noticed that hardly any person gives themselves time to just look out the window and allow themselves to be immersed in their thoughts. Instead, the music roars in the headphones, you watch TV on your mobile, play games, text messages, check Facebook or just surf around aimlessly. To dare to be alone and enjoy the silence, to give oneself time and space to socialize with one’s own thoughts and reflect a little on life has become a forgotten art.
