iOS 13 is the latest version of Apple’s operating system for its iCacharros. The update to Apple’s operating system for its iPhone , iPad and iPod Touch was presented at WWDC19 , and can be downloaded for free in September (as is usual in the apple world, just after the presentation of the new iPhone ).
iOS 13 has a series of very interesting new features compared to previous versions, beyond those that everyone knows (dark mode, improvements in Safari , redesign of the email app …). These are some of them.
1) iOS 13 will allow you to find your lost devices even if they are not connected to the Internet
‘Find my iPhone’ is a fantastic application to find your lost devices. It only has one but: they have to be connected to the Internet so that they can be located. With iOS 13 it will no longer be necessary. Devices that have them installed will send a Bluetooth signal that can be received by other Apple devices that are connected to the Internet, and which in turn will tell us where our lost gadget is.
Those Apple devices that will help us belong to other users, just as our own Apple devices will help find other third-party devices in distress. Apple ensures that this solidarity network consumes hardly any data or battery resources and that it is completely secure and private, since all information will be strongly encrypted. In this way, if someone steals your MacBook or iPhone , and keeps it in the backpack, the devices will send signals so that they can be located.
2) You can control Spotify with Siri
A fantastic novelty that will allow you to change songs or albums just by requesting it through your new AirPods or when you are driving. Apple is going to allow Siri to control more and more third-party apps , so Spotify is just the beginning.
3) You can listen to the notifications you receive on your AirPods
Another novelty from Siri that will let you know who is sending you a message and what is telling you. Until now, this option was only available with the phone’s messages application, but Apple will open it to third-party apps, such as WhatsApp . Yes, Siri will be able to read the jokes that your brother-in-law sends you on WhatsApp.
4) You will see the available Wifi networks directly from the Control Panel
Hallelujah. It will no longer be necessary to enter the Settings app to search for available Wi-Fi networks. This step can be done directly from the Control Panel, to save a few steps.
5) The new volume control is much more elegant
If now every time you touch the volume button a huge square appears in the center of the screen, in iOS 13 this function will be much more discreet, as you can see in this video.
6) iOS 13 will better monitor your workouts
The Activity application will not only show the three famous rings – movement, exercise, standing – but also the evolution of our last days to warn us if we are weak or if we have improved in the last 90 days.
7) You can add a profile picture and a public name in Messages
As with WhatsApp, you can create a public profile so that the person you communicate with can quickly see who you are. So far, the profile images that appear in Messages are those that each user has assigned to their contacts.
8) You can edit the light and colors of the videos
As with photos, which can be processed from the iPhone reel app itself, with iOS 13 you can modify the appearance of the videos , altering their brightness or highlighting certain colors by applying filters.
9) iOS 13 will show you on a map all the monitoring that third-party applications submit to you
When an app accesses your location in the background, it is basically following your steps. With iOS 13 you will be able to see on a map the exact place where that app has collected information about your positioning. The idea? That you know to what extent certain companies follow your steps.
10) You can listen to music with two pairs of headphones
If you want to see a series on the iPad or iPhone with someone else, with iOS 13 you can connect two pairs of headphones at the same time to the device . You can also listen to the same song, without problems.
11) With iOS 13 you can silence calls from unknown numbers
With the new version of the operating system you will be able to silence the calls you receive from unknown numbers , so that they do not bother you again.
