Cayde-6 is returning to Destiny 2?
It looks like the Hunter Vanguard will return in Destiny 2: The Final Shape . The teaser trailer for the next expansion was shown during the PlayStation Showcase on May 24th, 2023, which I definitely didn’t expect.
It shows Ikora Rey talking to an unknown person after somehow going through the portal that appeared at the beginning of the Lightfall expansion. After a few seconds, she is revealed to be talking to none other than Cayde-6.

Is Cayde-6 really dead in Destiny 2?
As for how he will return and whether he is really dead, I don’t know. I personally think the portal on the Wanderer leads to some sort of purgatory where Cayde-6 is stuck, unable to move on. But let’s see.
