What is Phonska Fertilizer?

Fertilizer has a very important role for plant growth . Moreover, nutrient requirements needed by plants for their development. One way to meet the needs of nutrients in plants is to provide the right type of fertilizer and at the right dose.

Each type of fertilizer certainly has different functions and adapted to the needs of plants. Of the many fertilizers on the market, Phonska fertilizer is one of the fertilizers that many farmers choose.

Phonska fertilizer is a type of fertilizer that is subsidized by the government at a more affordable price for farmers. Usually this Phonska fertilizer has the designation as NPK compound fertilizer consisting of macro nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K) and sulfur (S).

This NPK Phonska fertilizer is made from urea, ammonium, ZA, DAP, ZK, MAP, TSP, KCL, phosphate, zeolite, dolomite, kieserit, TE and several other substances. This Phonska fertilizer has the substance of allowing integrated fertilization of plants.

Until now phonska fertilizer has been known by many farmers and used. The presence of NPK Phonska fertilizer is quite helpful for farmers, because the price is quite cheap and can increase agricultural production.

This Phonska fertilizer began to be produced in early 2000 and was officially sold throughout Indonesia in August 2000. Phonska fertilizer is generally available in 2 packaging sizes, 20 kg packaging and 50 kg packaging. However, because phonska fertilizer is a subsidized fertilizer, it is not sold in the market in general. So only farmers who have joined certain farmer groups can buy it.

Ingredients and properties of Phonska Fertilizer

The content in phonska fertilizer is quite complete because there are several nutrients that are important for plants. Here are some of the ingredients found in phonska fertilizer:

Phosphate (P) 15%
Nitrogen (N) 15%
Potassium (k) 15%
Maximum water content 2%
Sulfur (S) 10%

The following are some of the properties of Phonska fertilizer including the following:

  • Has a fairly complete nutrient content
  • Easily absorbed by plants
  • Contains hygroscopic properties so that it dissolves easily in water
  • This fertilizer has a pink granules

Functions and Benefits of Phonska Fertilizer for Plants

Each type of fertilizer has its own benefits and functions for plants, including this Phonska fertilizer. The following are the functions and benefits of phonska fertilizer for plants including:

  1. Plant stems will be stronger so plants do not collapse easily
  2. Can spur generative as well as vegetative growth
  3. Streamlining the process of starch formation as well as sugar
  4. Can trigger the growth of plant roots
  5. Plants are healthier and greener
  6. The durability of plants during the dry season also increases
  7. Can trigger fruit and flower formation
  8. Able to enlarge tubers, fruit and seeds
  9. Protein content in plants increases

Excess Phonska Fertilizer

After knowing the nature and benefits of phonska fertilizer in plants, then also know the advantages of this phonska fertilizer compared to other fertilizers. Surely farmers who choose to use phonska fertilizer, have their own reasons that they usually believe that the fertilizer has advantages and is suitable for plant growth. Here are some of the advantages of using Phonska fertilizer compared to other fertilizers, including:

    • Phonska fertilizer is suitable for various types of plants, both fruit plants, ornamental plants, horticulture and even food plants.
    • Has hygroscopic properties in which phonska fertilizer is more easily dissolved in water so it is easily absorbed by plants. The use of phonska fertilizer is arguably efficient.
    • Including the type of compound fertilizer which contains a variety of nutrients that are needed by plants.
    • Can prevent the risk of poisoning in plants due to the dose of the content is fairly fitting.
    • It has nutrient content that is evenly distributed in each grain of Phonska fertilizer.
    • Is a compound fertilizer that contains various nutrients needed by plants.
    • Hygroscopic, soluble in water and easily absorbed by plants so that their use is more efficient.
    • Contains various types of nutrients so that fertilization techniques are simpler and more energy efficient.
    • Contains various elements needed by plants. The richness of the womb makes the fertilization process easier.
    • Suitable and suitable for various types of plants, because the content is sufficient and complete.
    • Increase crop production and quality, because farmers are no longer required to add other fertilizers to their crops. The use of phonska fertilizer reduces the risk of loss.
    • Increase plant resistance to pest, disease and drought.
    • Making plants greener and fresher because they contain lots of green leaves.
    • Stimulate the growth of roots and a good root system.
    • Stimulate the formation of flowers, speed up the harvest and increase protein content.

Shortage of Phonska Fertilizer

Although it has many advantages, Phonska fertilizer also has several disadvantages when compared to other types of fertilizers, including the following:

  • The acidic nature of the soil will be reduced even if the soil can become alkaline if the use of Phonska fertilizer is too excessive or if done continuously for a long time.
  • They can only be obtained by those farmers who have joined the farmer groups, because phonska fertilizer is included in subsidized fertilizer.
  • The ability of the soil in the process of absorbing water can be further reduced if the use of Phonska fertilizer is done continuously even if it is not balanced with the use of organic fertilizer.
  • Although it has various benefits, but if the use of phonska fertilizer is not controlled (excessive) it will only cause damage to the soil. Additional ingredients present in phonska fertilizer can damage soil properties and damage organic nutrients in the soil. Therefore the use should not be excessive.
  • If phonska fertilizer is used for a long period of time and continuously without being balanced with organic fertilizer, it will reduce the ability of the soil to absorb water. So that over time the soil becomes dry and barren.
  • Giving this fertilizer with various additional contents will make the soil’s natural nutrients become damaged or inferior to synthetic materials. This condition makes the soil that was previously fertile and good for various plants can no longer be productive. Nutrient poor condition has occurred in many agricultural lands. Farmers with insufficient knowledge leave organic fertilizers such as manure and green manure. In fact, the use of organic fertilizer does not affect the content of natural nutrients.
