Complete walkthrough of the indie horror The Land of Pain

The land of painwithout unnecessary prelude transfers control to the player immediately after the loading screen. So, we find ourselves in a spacious picturesque forest. Objective: to get to our hut by following the path. The way to it, by the way, is quite long. Thus, the game from the first minutes warns us that throughout the passage we have to overcome huge distances in fairly spacious locations. Having finally reached the hut, we go inside and first of all we light the fireplace with the help of a match that lies on the table on the right side. Next, we step into the bedroom and pick up a bucket there, which we fill in a local well, located a couple of tens of meters from the house (we follow along the wooden fence to the right relative to the hut). Upon returning back, a huge mirror ball suddenly appears near our abode,

As a result, we will find ourselves locked in a cage in the night forest. First of all, we get out of the trap, breaking the lock with a stone that lies behind us, and then we step along the path until we come across an ominous two-story house (see screenshot).

Above, as is often the case in horror, we will notice a certain silhouette, so we immediately get a task: to scout the second floor. Going inside, we read the note that lies on the right side, and then we find out that the stairs leading upward are broken, therefore we need to find another. To do this, we leave the house and continue along the path forward until we see on the left side a water tower, to the left of which, near the garbage containers, we will find the stairs we need. Also pay attention to the bloody door leading to the water treatment plant. A little later we have to return to it (see screenshot).

Putting the ladder in its rightful place, we go upstairs, where we observe a rather terrible picture, after which we read the note lying on the bed and leave the house. At the exit, we will see how someone’s lifeless body will suddenly fly out of the thickets. After examining it, we will find the key to the station in our pocket, so we go back.

So, we find ourselves at a water treatment plant. On the spot we go down the stairs and, turning to the right, we pick up the oil lamp. Next, we read another note, and then we go back up. Alas, we will not be allowed to quietly leave the station. So we select the small key that hangs near the front door and unlock the grate leading into the building with it. Going down even lower, first we turn to the right, where in the place under the stairs we pick up a little lubricant, and after that we go to the main room with a water reservoir. On the spot, we examine the strange drawing that lies on the torture machine, and then we step into the back rooms. First of all, we go into the door to the right. Having lubricated the red valve there and simultaneously scrolling it, then we go to another room, where we read an important note, and then we go down into the empty tank. At the place behind the giant blades, we notice a wide pipe, along which we need to go. Having got out into a relatively spacious place, we notice a crowbar stuck into the wall slightly to the left of the central ceiling pipe, picking up which we will have to hurry out of the tank, going the other way. Having acquired a reliable tool, we return to the front door and eventually leave for fresh air.

With a powerful lighting device in hand, we can now go into the dark thicket, moving along the familiar path along the red light districts. Having reached a huge crevice, we jump over it with a running start and get to the ruins, from where we will go out onto the path that goes around the mountain. On the way to the cave that is located in front, we will stumble upon a broken bridge leading to the entrance to the mines. We must get there at the current moment. To repair the bridge, we need to get a board, which is located in another part of the location. Thus, we will find ourselves in the next forest area. Having reached the fork, following the lanterns, we will be attacked by a certain monster. According to tradition, the main character cannot oppose him with anything, therefore, we have nothing left but to simply run away. In this case, follow the path to the left (see screenshot).

Moving in this direction, we will soon come to another fork: the road will lead directly to a dead end, and to the side – to the board we need.

Ultimately we get to the mines. The global task at this location is to find the key to the barn, which is located in the forest. Having got out into the peculiar hall of the cave, we first step to the left, where we notice one of the two passages that are in this area. Having successfully overcome the cliff, we go into the mine (see screenshot) and, walking a little forward, we come across a fork.

The final goal at the location is located on the right side, so we first move forward. There we will get to another fork, which looks like this (see screenshot).

So, stepping to the left and following along the rails, we will come out to a small warehouse, where a rusty key will lie on a box near the lamp. Now we return back to the mine hall and go to the second passage (illuminated by a lamp), which is located in front of the main entrance to the location. Having unlocked the door, we select a hacksaw from the rack, with the help of which we saw the boards blocking the path at the fork (see the previous screenshot). Thus, we will find ourselves in the quarry. Climbing the wooden platform, in a pile of stones near the cart, we find a pickaxe, which will help us to clear the blockage that blocks the path to the mentioned final point of the location. Having unblocked the passage and having found the unfortunate key (see screenshot), we hastily leave the mines, simultaneously avoiding a meeting with the monster that appeared in the lobby.

Well, having the key in our hands, we step to the barn, located on the opposite side from the place where we found the board. A motor boat will be parked near the building at the pier, hinting with all its appearance that it will be used. To do this, we need fuel, which must be drained from the tank at a nearby tractor. Therefore, first of all we go into the barn and, turning left, we find a bucket. Having put it under the car, we again step into the barn and now turn to the right, where, climbing on bales of hay, we will find a hammer and a chisel. Then we go downstairs and go into the door leading to the living room. We study the notes on the spot, and then go to sleep on the bed. Of course, no one will let us sleep peacefully, therefore, waking up, we go down to the entrance to the barn, where we find the lost lamp behind the barrels. After we leave the building,

Naturally, the water adventure will not work. At a certain moment, the boat will run out of fuel, so you have to get to the shore on your own, and fleeing from the monster chasing us. Having reached land and following the path, we will soon come out to another forest area with many different paths. Objective: get a chainsaw in order to use it to unlock the passage to the next location. Well, once at a fork, the first thing we do is turn left, where we will soon come out to a large two-story house with a greenhouse. In the bedroom upstairs we find a rusty key (at the same time we read two notes), after which we go to the sawmill, the entrance to which is located directly opposite the house (the path is illuminated by a lamp). Going down the stairs, we go around the wall on the right side and find the desired chainsaw. Alas, not everything is so simple after all, the tool is missing one important part, namely the chain. Therefore, we go in search of her. So, returning to the point of the fork, we move this time to the right, where we will stumble upon a workshop. There, on the second floor, we will find the desired item. The last stop is the bushes that are located near the second sawmill. The trail that leads directly to them is located behind the greenhouse house.

As a result, we find ourselves in a swamp. Here we have to make a rather long run from the monster chasing us. There is only one road leading to the finish line, which is a shabby shed, but it is interrupted in every possible way by mud and dense vegetation, therefore, it is easy to lose sight of it and from under your feet. Lanterns and fences on both sides of the trail are key landmarks along the route. After we successfully sit out in the barn, we step to the mesh fence that is behind him and continue to move forward until we get out to the railroad. We examine the note that lies on the table near the house, and jump over the fence. Once on the tracks, we step in the direction of the tunnel. Somewhere in the last third of the way, a train will suddenly appear behind us, so we turn on the acceleration, and at the exit we immediately jump to the side.

Thus, we find ourselves at the railway depot. Here we first need to get into the tower through an open window. However, in order to reach him, you need to find three boxes at the location (see screenshots).

Having finally climbed into the tower, we first go down, where we study the dead body. Then we go upstairs and find a lever there, which we install in the power supply zone. Further, moving to the back entrance of the main building (located in the same place where we found the third box), along the way we will stumble upon a seductive red button, by pressing which we will open the passage to the warehouse. But before going there we go into the depot through the mentioned back door, where we study the note that lies on the barrel near the entrance. After we drop into the warehouse, we take the nippers from the rack and, having unlocked the gate located on the left with them, we move along the path.

The road will lead us to two buildings opposite each other. First we examine the altar on the left side, and then we step to the right to the cemetery. We jump over the fence, we pass through the territory, and then through the hole in the wall we leave the cemetery. Thus, we find ourselves on the next extensive location, but, fortunately, the last. Passing a boarded-up shack and an eerie house with a bloody door, we follow a path illuminated by red lanterns until we come to a large residential building. First, we need to get inside. To do this, we move back along the path, where after a dozen meters we notice stone steps and a path. The latter will lead us to another shack, on the table near which we find a note describing the location of the key to the house. Returning back to the estate, first of all we inspect the well, and then we approach the stone wall that is located behind him. After examining the unevenly placed stones (see screenshot), we will find the key.

Having climbed into the house, we first go to the kitchen, where near the back entrance in a hanging box we find the key to the barn, which is located next to the house (indicated by the red light of the candles). Inside, we pick up a bucket and lower it into the well, thereby opening the door located to the right of the front entrance to the house. Going downstairs, we take a hammer from the table and go to the boarded-up shack, where we find a shovel and grease. Then again we return to the house and, having risen to the second floor, we unlock the door leading to the attic. At the far end of the room we study the note, and in the opposite we find the key to the trunk of the car, which stands next to the house. There we will get a gear, which we set in a red globe, located in one of the bedrooms on the second floor of the estate. Having thus opened the secret door, we turn the red valve and study the instructions for supplying pressure to the pipes.

As a result, a strange device will appear nearby, where you will need to put a coin. We find her in the cemetery, having excavated a grave that was found earlier with a shovel (see screenshot).

Having installed the coin in its rightful place, a secret passage leading to the laboratory will open. We study the note that lies on the altar, and then we approach the control panel, where we start the car, and then hastily leave the room. Once in the cave, we get out of there, guided by the torches, and, reaching the wooden platforms, we find the lost lamp and climb the stairs outside. Completed the game.
