Trampolines: benefits, types and how to choose

Trampoline occupies a special place among entertainment among children and adults for many decades. It was even included in the list of indispensable attributes for the Olympic Games. Let’s consider the benefits and harms of sports equipment, the range of products, as well as the criteria for choosing a structure for jumping.

The benefit and harm of a trampoline for a child

Trampolines have a beneficial effect on the growing body: they contribute to the development and strengthening of muscles, train coordination of movements and the vestibular apparatus. During jumping, the functioning of the cardiovascular and nervous system is normalized, and the child’s immunity is also increased.
Jumps imply certain loads on the musculoskeletal system, involve different groups of muscles and joints, which helps to form the correct posture. In addition, during fun on the trampoline, serotonin, also known as the happy hormone, is produced, thanks to which the body is charged with energy.

Meanwhile, do not forget about the possible harm of jumping on a trampoline. Such entertainment is contraindicated for people who suffer from:

  1. bronchial asthma;
  2. diseases of the cardiovascular system;
  3. osteoporosis;

Among other things, children are allowed to have fun on the trampoline only under the supervision of adults, carefully following the safety rules to avoid injuries and crowded places.

Types of products
Today, there are several main types of trampolines on the market:

  • professional sports equipment;
  • amateur water analogues;
  • trampolines for fitness;
  • inflatable structures;
  • street trampolines

Professional paraphernalia is used by gymnasts and acrobats for training, so it must meet international safety and reliability certificates. Amateur water products are inflatable balloons with a stretched fabric made of elastic material. Fitness trampolines are used in sports and entertainment centers as equipment to increase the effectiveness of physical exercises.

Among children, the last two points are most popular. Inflatable structures can be used both indoors and outdoors. They can be of different sizes and shapes, and due to their design features, they are considered the safest option for children’s entertainment.

Street trampolines are suitable for active outdoor activities. They can differ in design, shape and parameters, and can withstand from one to several children depending on their size. To guarantee maximum safety during jumping, it is better to install a protective net, which can be either included with the trampoline or purchased separately.
When choosing the appropriate version of a trampoline for a child, you need to focus on the age restrictions of the product. Regardless of the design, the trampoline must be stable, strong and reliable in order to provide children with maximum enjoyment during entertainment.
