At Nintendo Direct a few days ago, Eiji Aonuma himself announced there that next summer we will replay again at The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword , last chapter of the saga to be released on Wii before the incredible The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild , which will arrive in a new HD version on Nintendo Switch . This year, however, marks the 35th anniversary of the saga, and a single remastered seems a bit too small to celebrate one of the greatest titles in video game history.
In fact, it seems that Nintendo’s projects for Link and Princess Zelda will not end here, as more remastered will most likely arrive in the course of 2021. We therefore took the opportunity to ask ourselves which chapters of the saga they deserve, or more simply they need. , to return to our Switch in a remastered version , which maybe rejuvenates some mechanics; or why not, maybe a real remake , as happened for Link’s Awakening . We have therefore decided to offer you our top 10, obviously purely subjective, of the chapters that we would like to replay, bearing in mind those already replayed, and the probabilities that mother Nintendo may or may not get back to it.

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is certainly the most mistreated chapter of the entire saga; and maybe it was better that way. The second incarnation of the legend of Zelda offered a decidedly different view to the first chapter and its successors, with a side scroll that winked at the genres that were in vogue at the time, such as Ghosts’ n Goblins or The Battle of Olympus , a truly disproportionate difficulty to be completed, and some found that have not been repeated over the years. Yet, he put us in front of a real personal adventure, that of Link, fighting in first person against Ganon, as well as counting on some of the most complex dungeons of the entire saga. More than a simple remastered, a remake could give the title a second chance, perhaps recalibrating the whole experience to allow everyone to get to the end credits . We don’t want SoulsZelda here.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Released on Nintendo DS back in 2009, a sequel to Phantom Hourglass, which in turn followed Wind Waker, this chapter introduced some mechanics specifically designed to take advantage of the Nintendo portable console, which in a possible remastered should be readapted for Switch, a bit as it will come. made for Skyward Sword. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Season / Oracle of Ages

An experience that could be replicated with current technologies, which, although it remained unique for the saga, met the enthusiastic opinions of critics at the time.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Such a high position for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess absolutely does not depend on the value of the game, it is good to specify it right away. Released on Nintendo Game Cube and Wii in 2006 , it also arrived on Wii U in 2016 in 2016. For those who play on Nintendo consoles, therefore, there have certainly been opportunities to replay one of the darkest and most beautiful chapters of the saga. The version for Wii U, then, already proposed a reinterpretation in HD of the title, improving it from the visual aspect. A simple port on Switch would therefore be just yet another revival, unlike Skyward Sword, however, whose last appearance dates back to 10 years ago. In any case, we would certainly be happy to play it again, and to accompany Wolf Link in a decidedly dark and compelling epic.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is one of the most beautiful chapters of the saga, which since its release on Nintendo Game Cube has carved out a place in the hearts of players for its pirate atmosphere, staging a completely submerged fantasy Hyrule, with a soundtrack that blended perfectly with the sound of the sea waves. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Phantom Hourglass is certainly one of the most successful chapters of the Nintendo DS saga. Recently, then, there has been rumors of a new trademark registered in Australia for the title which incorporates the seafaring atmosphere of The Wind Waker. More than just a remastered, we’d like a Link’s Awakening-style remake. Who knows that Aonuma will not be able to satisfy us.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
If there is one game that has proved capable of dividing Zelda fans strongly, it is definitely Majora’s Mask . The darkest chapter of the entire brand , to be played in one breath, in a race against time to save Termina. Released in a hurry as a spiritual sequel to Ocarina of Time, it has been able to completely overturn the spirit of its predecessor, giving us a unique experience and never seen again over the years. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

The chapter released on SNES in 1991 is perhaps what made the saga great and projected it into legend. Exactly 30 years after its release, Nintendo could give us the greatest gift with a remake that wouldn’t leave anyone dry-mouthed. The chances of this happening are practically zero, but dreaming costs nothing .
