A detailed guide with a description of the locations, where to look for all the documents in the game in order to get the “Diligent reader” and “Investigation” achievements
The documents in The Evil Within 2 are scattered throughout Union. They are files of various types that are intended to provide a more complete representation of the events associated with the STEM system. In this guide, you will learn where to find all 40 documents in order to unlock the “Diligent Reader” and “Investigation” achievements.
Chapter 2
Photo by William Baker
Baker’s photo can be found on the first floor of the area, which you will find yourself in immediately after Sebastian’s office, passing through the mirror. Go to the dark room, where you will find the photo on the sink.

Follow to the second floor, then sneak under the metal gate and you will see a small table with a letter on it.

On the third floor you will find room 103, on the right side of the stairs leading to the fourth tier. Enter the room and find the photo on the table.
Diary in an abandoned house
When you run away from Stefano and get the first knife, you will find yourself in an abandoned house. Before leaving, check the bedroom to find a diary on the dresser.

Chapter 3
Welcome to the Union booklet
The booklet is located at the Visitor Center opposite Liam O’Neill’s hideout.

Communicator log: spare parts
On the left side of the tourist center, if you face it, there is a building with a side staircase. Climb along it to the roof, find a faulty sniper rifle and the communicator of the killed soldier lying next to it.
Report 00592: Recruitment
Follow the Union car repair shop and go down to the basement under the car. Once on the spot, go to the back room, where there is a ladder and the report you need.
Turner’s Communicator Journal
Complete the “Unusual Signal” side quest to unlock access to the basement of the Union Visitor Center. Go down and find Turner’s communicator.

Diary of a woman
Go to the house at 336 Cedar Avenue, go inside and move to the bedroom to find a magazine on the table.
Request for examination
Go to the house at 345 Cedar Avenue, climb into the garage and find a gurney there. It contains the file you need.
Survey report (top)
This document is also located at 345 Cedar Avenue. After you take the previous request for examination, go to the room with the TV, view it, then move to the bedroom and take the file lying on the cabinet.
Report 00654: Core Separation
Head to the trucking company on the other side of the road from the auto repair shop, a little closer to the hideout to the north. You will find this report in the power management room. You will need to wait until you get upstairs in the story.

Report 00122
Get to the Union gas station and enter the hideout. The report is at the entrance.

In the “Network” find a way to a room with a corpse and a computer on the table. Interact with your computer to read this email.

Go through the corridor with a gas leak in the “Network” and go up the stairs. Look for a computer in the corner. Log in to receive a message.
CHAPTER 5

As part of the storyline, you will need to go to the city hall. As soon as you approach the gate, you will find a dead operative “Mobius”. Search it to find a photo.
Report 00977: Structural Violations
When you enter the city hall, go to the mail room and find a report on the table.
Crimson Post article
At some point in the city hall, you will need to create a mannequin for the photo (add a necklace, rotate the mannequin and insert roses into the vase). After you do this, find in the corridor (formed from the picture) the table on which the article lies.

After finding the article from the Crimson Post, go forward until you reach the office area. Find the place where the photo is.
A note
You will find yourself in a room filled with fossilized enemies. If you look around the room, then near the door you can find a table with the note you need.
Report 00213: Social Management of Union
After you activate the device that generates the field, go to the office on the second floor to find a folder with a report on the table.
Chapter 6
Report 00532: Movement Protocols
When you run away from the observer – a white monster consisting of some kind of slime, then go to the door with blocking sound waves. Match the frequencies to open the door and find the report inside.

After meeting with Hoffman on the “Net”, examine the computer in the room to remember the letter.
Chapter 7
Bartender diary
Go to the Devil’s Personal Bar. Inside, on the far table to the right, is the bartender’s diary.
Chapter 9
First Page “Obey Freedom”
When you go through the shelter of Theodore, you will have to overcome the block with cells. You will see the altar – go to it and take the page.
Chapter 11
Torres Diary
This chapter begins with Torres’ hideout. Inside it, on the table, is the girl’s diary.
Hoffman Records File
Go back to Hoffman’s hideout on the Net and check your computer again to find the electronic file.
Security Protocols File
As soon as you pass the fourth level of security in the laboratories with limited access “Network”, you will find a room with a mirror inside. There is a computer with an electronic file in this room.
STEM Integration Failure Report
In the same labs with limited access, you will find a file, on a blackboard, on the first floor.
Crash Investigation Report
In laboratories with limited access to the “Network”, as soon as you find yourself in laboratory number 1, then on the stairs at the back of the room you can find the report.
Pit Watching File
There is a pit at the end of the first floor of the restricted laboratories. When you see it, enter the office on the right side and examine the computer to find the file.
Survey report (bottom)
Remember the report you found back in Chapter 3? This is his other half. In the pit, you will have your third encounter with the ghost of the Anima. After completing and running away from it, leave the pit and go down the corridor along which you came here. There will be a room on the right side. Enter it and take the report from the table.
Letter from the Chief of Police
In the same corridor, about which it was written above, there will be another room on the left side. Enter it and take the letter from the gurney.
Agent Case File
In the labs with limited access, go to lab # 3 and examine the computer.
Chapter 12
Second page “Obey Freedom”
In the house of Theodore, move forward until you find a burning statue. In front of the statue is an altar with a note on it.
Chapter 13
Hoffman’s diary
The plot will take you to the hotel. When you get to her, find Hoffman’s diary inside the bag on a small table. It’s in the lobby.
Letter from Sykes
To obtain this file, you will have to complete the “Last Step” side quest. After completing the mission and saying goodbye to Sykes, go to the room with the escape pod, into which the black man plunged, and take the file lying on the table.
Chapter 14
Scripture of Theodore I
When you go to the shelter of Theodore, then on the first floor you will find the cathedral square. There you will see an altar. Take away the scripture on it.

Moving up the stairs from the second to the third tier of Theodore’s hideout, you can see a room from the side. Enter it to find the last document in the game.
