Today, however, we want to explain how to recover deleted chats on Telegram.
In fact, it is possible that for various reasons you have deleted a chat on Telegram and now you need to recover it. If you find yourself in this situation you will do well to read the following carefully.
We want to immediately tell you that there are very few cases in which it is possible to recover deleted messages on Telegram . In fact, the platform for default settings on the privacy of its users, prefers that the exchange of Telegram messages is very similar to talking face to face.
If in previous versions Telegram allowed the recovery of messages and it was even possible to cancel the sending of messages within 48 hours of sending, starting from the Telegram version 5.5 the situation has completely changed. In fact, from this version on it is always possible to delete all the messages you have sent or received in any private conversation and the deleted messages leave no trace in the chat.

How to recover archived Telegram chats
As seen, it is possible that a conversation is simply archived and not deleted. The first thing to do, therefore, is to check if the conversation has actually been deleted or if it is in archived messages.
If you don’t know how to check if a chat has simply been archived you can follow these steps:
- Start the Telegram application;
- Swipe down;
- Click on “Archived Chats”;
- Locate the chat of the user you want to recover;
- Swipe to the left and tap on “Extract” (the last icon located at the top right if you want to recover iOS Telegram chat).
Recover deleted chats on Telegram
Well, once we are sure that we have not archived a conversation and that it has actually been deleted, know that there are very few cases in which it will be possible to recover a conversation on Telegram .
Telegram offers its users the possibility to recover chats deleted by mistake within five seconds of deleting the message . In fact, if you tapped on “Delete” and then clicked on “Delete just for me” you will see a five-second timer appear at the bottom of the chat, try to be quick and click on “Cancel”. Unfortunately, if you haven’t been quick you won’t be able to recover a deleted chat on Telegram in any way.
There is also another way to retrieve a chat on Telegram whether you have a smartphone with an Android system or if it uses an iOS system.
When you tap on the “Delete” item to delete a chat, are you sure you want to delete the chat? Here you have two alternatives: you can tap on “Delete for me and the name of the other user” or select the item “Delete only for me”. If you clicked on Delete for me and for the user you started a conversation with, unfortunately, it is not possible to recover a deleted chat in any way. If, on the other hand, you have clicked on “Delete only for me” the only way is to ask the other person to send you the screenshots of the conversations or ask you to paste the messages of the conversation.
How to recover secret chats on Telegram
Unlike “traditional” chats, recovering a secret chat on Telegram is slightly different. Secret conversations remain only on the cell phones of the people involved and not on the Telegram server.
When you delete a secret chat, you have two options: type in “Clear history” and “Delete chat”. In any case, whether you have clicked on “Delete chat” or “Clear history”, Telegram gives you the possibility to recover the chats only and exclusively in five seconds by clicking on the “Cancel” item.
If in both cases you have not been fast enough you will not be able to recover the deleted chat on Telegram. The only way to recover a secret chat in this case is to ask the other user to take a screenshot of previous messages.
