Origin
Corn is one of the most widely used products in America. Some identify it by its yellow color, but there are also various types in the different countries of the Continent, such as purple, black and red. In Cuba we use yellow corn and it is a tradition in the family.
Properties
Corn is rich in carbohydrates and protein. It is also rich in mineral salts such as magnesium and phosphorus and the only cereal rich in vitamin A. It also contains vitamin B, C, calcium, folic acid and contains a lot of fiber. Color differences are due to the concentrations of various pigments such as carotenoids and flavonoids, which work in the prevention of degenerative diseases.
Basic recipe
Ingredients:
- 6 ears of young corn
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 2 medium onions
- 2 small peppers
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 egg
- Salt pepper to taste
- 240 mm of vegetable oil
Preparation
- Grate the corn from the cobs or shred it and grind it in a razor.
- Mix with the crushed garlic, onion and finely chopped chili , the sugar. Also add the egg, pepper and salt to taste.
- Take this pasta with a teaspoon and fry it in hot oil.
- Serve them hot.
