Overkill’s The Walking Dead Crafting Guide

How to create new items and reuse bandages, personal ability, additional skill, lockpicks, wire cutters and other tools

A couple of days ago, the official release of the cooperative action game with survival elements Overkill’s The Walking Dead took place . Quite expectedly, the events of the game unfold in a post-apocalyptic universe teeming with hordes of zombies. There is also a story campaign, consisting of several missions, most of which are really difficult. In each quest, you use a primary skill, a tool, and a secondary item. As soon as you spend them, you can craft new ones for an additional fee. Below, we’ll show you how to craft items in Overkill’s The Walking Dead.

Firstly, whenever you are on a quest or find yourself on a new map, be sure to explore your surroundings and gather resources. Inspect houses, individual rooms and all drawers (cupboards) that you can interact with. If you can interact with this or that object, a hint will appear on the screen indicating the possibility of collecting loot. Hold the F key to collect resources, which will automatically appear in your inventory.

Items in the location

The best part about Overkill’s The Walking Dead (and unusual for a survival game) is that you don’t have to worry about the capacity of your inventory, since it’s bottomless. Therefore, collect and store absolutely everything that comes to hand. Every time you find resources, watch the bottom left corner of the screen. Periodically, an icon will appear there, indicating that the items found can be used for a particular ability.

Once you collect enough resources, you can start crafting. Open the corresponding menu by pressing and holding the Tab key to see the ability icons in the center of the screen. All skills are tied to different keys. The main skill is activated by pressing the Q key , the secondary skill is E , the tool is F… If you want to create items that allow you to re-activate the main skill, then you should press and hold the Q key . For the other two options, hold down the other keys.

Bandage crafting

After you craft the desired item, you can use it in the game. We highly recommend crafting these items as soon as the opportunity arises. Some of the more difficult tasks can take a lot of your time and energy, so you should always have “extra tricks” up your sleeve
