O2 is Telefónica’s second brand in Spain behind Movistar. Its philosophy is to avoid promotional offers, always apply improvements to the customer first and have the best possible product. Philosophy implemented in Pepephone by the current director of O2, that is, Pedro Serrahima. The two operators have things in common, but not everything is similar.
Fiber, same speed options
Few differences in the realm of speed. Both operators offer two combined fiber and mobile rates, one with 300 Mbps symmetric and the other with 600 Mbps symmetric . The main differences are in coverage, since Movistar has almost 24 million deployed with its own fiber, while Pepephone uses Yoigo’s own fiber together with the different MásMóvil Group agreements to reach a similar number of wired homes.
Gigas on mobile, unlimited?
As we have already commented, we have two rates in each of the operators. In the case of O2, the 300 Mbps mode is accompanied by 5GB for browsing and unlimited calls. We can contract up to 4 additional mobile lines and share data between them. 4G coverage is that of Movistar, with unlimited SMS and navigation at 64 Kbps by exceeding the gigas of the rate. There is also an additional bonus of 5GB for 5 euros. In the 600 Mbps mode we have 30GB to navigate with the same conditions as the 300 Mbps rate.
At Pepephone we have 10GB and unlimited calls in the 300 Mbps mode, and 31GB and unlimited calls in the 600 Mbps mode. The main difference is that they are cumulative for the following month. In addition, in the fastest fiber rate we can add unlimited data whenever we want for 19.90 euros more per month .
