History

Since rice was prohibitively expensive when it first arrived in Korea , the grain was mixed with other grains to “stretch” the rice; this continues to be done in some dishes such as boribap (rice with barley ) and kongbap (rice with beans ). White rice, rice without bran, has been the preferred form of rice since its introduction into gastronomy. Rice is used to prepare a variety of dishes, in addition to the traditional white rice bowl. It is commonly ground into flour , which is used to make rice cakes called tteok in about two hundred varieties. It is also cooked in acongee (juk), or gruel (mieum) and mixed with other grains , meats , or shellfish . Koreans also produce certain rice wines, in both filtered and unfiltered versions.

Preparation

Korean-style rice is a very simple recipe to make that you can make without any problem and that will appeal to everyone. The first thing you have to do is cook the rice in a pot with boiling water and salt. Wash the rice beforehand to remove as much starchpossible and that at the end of cooking it is as loose as possible since this way the dish will be much better. Once the rice is ready you can reserve until its later use. Then cut the potatoes together with the carrots, onion, zucchini and chicken into small cubes. Add the vegetables first and cook for about 10 minutes or so. Then you can add the chicken breast and sauté for a few minutes until you see that it has browned. Reservation. Take the two eggs and once well beaten you can make them in a pan like a French omelette . Cut the tortilla into cubes and set aside with the chicken and vegetables. To finish, take a frying pan and heat the soy sauce along with the finely chopped garlic and wait for them to brown.
