Increase Web Traffic – 7 Ways to Get + 45,000 Visits to your Blog in 6 months or less

Do you want to increase traffic to your website or blog ?

Obviously yes, but when you start blogging, attracting visitors is one of the things that worries you the most . Many bloggers leave after a few months because they do not know how to increase their traffic  and the reality is that it is not so difficult to do so, if you follow a series of basic recommendations.

In our case, the first 6 months of our blog’s life we reached more than 45,000 visits. Here is a screenshot of our Google Analytics:

Today we are going to explain 7 effective ways to increase traffic to your blog so you can start applying them today.

  1. Increase Web Traffic? ALWAYS Create Quality, Practical and Shareable Content

Surely you’ve heard 1000 times that content is king. Well it’s true. If your content is good it will be more easily shared. Having quality content is not everything, but it is a very good goal to start.

Would I share what I’m writing right now? Ask yourself that same question when you are writing an article. Think you see the title on Twitter or Facebook, would you click the button to share it with your followers?

Thinking of your ideal reader will make you think every time you are creating content. These types of articles have worked very well for us:
How to be more productive How to get up early 17 benefits of having less things 10 Online tools to be more productive 10 Reasons to start a blog and a gift for future #Bloggers

If you look, they are all aimed at people who want to improve . As you can see they all have more than 300 shares some reaching more than 1,000. Without a doubt this is proof that this content has liked our readers and they have rewarded us by sharing it on their social networks.

  1. Write Titles that attract attention and are viral on Social Networks

Sometimes we underestimate the power of titles and without a doubt they are the most important part in Social Networks, since it is the first thing that users see when they enter any of your profiles. For a title to be good, you should focus on getting the article read.

Take a look at the title of the last article you wrote on your blog, do you think you did it well? We are going to give you some tips that you can follow to check if your title is well done or not:

Is Attention Captured?

The first thing you have to keep in mind when writing a new title is to at least get the button pressed to continue reading. So the most important thing is to get the reader’s attention.

Is it specific?

The specific titles work much better to attract attention than the more generic ones, being these vague and unreliable. You can’t always apply this rule, but compare these 2 titles:

Which do you think will receive more clicks on Social Networks?

Are you generating curiosity?

Are you going to get the reader to take action? Or just that you just take notes on your article? You have to give him a good reason to keep reading the full article beyond the title! This is where curiosity comes into play. Create a feeling of incompleteness. In this case, endings such as:

. . . that until today you did not know . . . that will leave you impressed . . . what you should apply today

Does the Title promise “powerful benefits”?

Your title should promise something that your readers want to achieve. If you are targeting bloggers who are starting their blog and you promise them a method to get thousands of visits per month, they will surely read your article.

  1. Establish an Editorial Calendar and Stick to It

One of the keys to being successful with your blog is to establish a frequency of publication.  Choose a frequency with which you feel comfortable and stick to it.

In our case, we publish 1 article and 1 video every week. Usually a new video every Thursday and a new article every Monday. Why? Well, because we have established this strategy based on what we have been analyzing about the likes of our followers.

The videos are published on Thursday nights. At 21:00 it is a time when people start to have dinner and after dinner they spend some time on their social networks. As Friday is the next day, our ideal reader’s mind is more relaxed and more receptive to consuming this type of content. It looks like something made up, but our statistics show it.

The posts are published on Monday morning. We believe that there is no better way to start the week than with one of our articles ?

Apart from choosing a day to publish, you must have an editorial calendar that marks the following contents for your blog . In our case we use an Excel sheet as a planning that marks the next article to write. We recommend that you have at least 4 or 5 ideas for articles written and ready to publish , since this way you will be more comfortable during the week. And of course, it is highly recommended to have at least 15 or 20 new post ideas , so you will never feel the feeling of not having ideas.

  1. Think Google and you will have quality visits

If you only leave your traffic at the expense of sharing on social networks, you will never have a continuous flow of traffic without doing anything. If you stop sharing, you stop having traffic, at least until you start having a large subscriber list.

What keyword are you going to write your article about? Do you know how many people search for that keyword in Google? And what would you put if you had to look for more information on the subject?

Taking all this into account when writing your articles will make you  increase your organic visits  in a sustainable way and maintained over time and they will also be quality visits very close to your ideal reader or client.

For example, imagine that you have a hard time getting up early in the morning and you go to Google and search: how to get up early

In our case, we made an article and a video explaining our method. Both pieces of content are already in the Google Top 5. And the video is already number 1 on YouTube. This article brings us quality visits from people who want to get up early because they value their time and (in principle) they are entrepreneurs who want to do more things in their day to day. Just our target audience.

Choosing a good keyword is vital. And even more to know how many people enter the month to Google to search for that word. It doesn’t make much sense to write about something you know nobody’s going to be looking for. So what you are interested in is knowing how many people are looking for something and, of course, knowing if that something has a lot or little competition. Keep in mind that if there are already many blogs talking about the same thing, it will be very difficult for you to position yourself.

How do I know the number of searches and the competition of a keyword?

Surely you already know the Google Adwords Keyword Tool , for a time called the Google Keyword Planner .

This is the tool par excellence, it is free and it serves as a previous step to writing your article.

We use Market Samurai , since in addition to telling us the number of searches for a keyword, it also tells us a super important value known as TACOMP (Title and Anchor Text Competition) which means:
“The total number of pages that have that word key in the Title of the Web and that they are receiving inbound links with optimized anchor text ”.

Basically the TACOMP of Market Samurai helps us to choose the keywords with more searches and that have less competition , so occupying the first positions in Google is much easier.

In this way, with just a few months to live on our blog, we have ensured that we have several thousand visits only from Google, which means that we can continue to grow. The more quality content focused on keywords, the more quality visits from Google. It is that easy.

  1. Think Green and your content will be requested-shared

When we say “think green” we are not referring to you writing with a Heineken in hand que which could also be!

By green we mean all that content that does not go out of style, in English, evergreen. That is, all those keywords that over the years will continue to be in force and will continue to have searches. For example:

how to get up early
how to be more productive
how to make a good post
what to do in san diego
what to see in los angeles

Evergreen content does not have an expiration date. It brings value to your readers today and in a year, so it will be content that you can share several times on social networks throughout the life of your blog.

If you have a news blog, this obviously does not apply, since your news will be valid the day they are published and at most a few days later. However, if you have a blog on any other subject, focusing on evergreen content will be one of the keys to growing visits to your blog naturally.

  1. Write articles on other blogs

When you are starting it is very difficult to get a large number of visits even if your content is good.
Don’t pretend to be alone on your blogging path. The union is strength and that is why it is good to start to establish relationships with other bloggers in your niche that you can learn from and that you can lean on to help each other.

Remember the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people ?

Making guest posts or guest posting consists of writing articles on other blogs to make yourself known. Sacrificing a good article to publish it on another blog instead of yours can cost, but in the end the result is worth it as they will multiply visits to your blog and hopefully you will gain new subscribers ?

We recognize that at the moment we have not focused on this post-guest strategy due to lack of time. We have been a year of many trips and it has been impossible for us to write more than one article a week for our blog.

When we return home and are more “stable” if we want to spend more time establishing quality relationships with other blogs,  this implies sharing their content, meeting them in person, and writing articles that they may be interested in publishing.

  1. Get the most out of Social Networks

As we have said, the content is very important but without a good promotion it is of little use . Knowing how to harness the power of each social network to share your content is crucial.

Publishing content, putting striking images or knowing the correct time to share on each social network are some of the things that you will have to analyze.

Facebook is vital and always works very well but we already know that a lot of reach is lost unless you pay.

In our case, Twitter is one of the social networks that generates the most traffic and that is that through many years of research and testing we have designed a system that now generates quality and automated traffic to our pages and the best, spending very little time a week ?

Well, so far this article about some of the keys that we use to increase traffic to our blog. What do you think? What techniques do you use? Would you like us to continue talking about these topics? Leave us a comment and tell us about your experience. We will be happy to hear your opinion about it!
