What is Ubersuggest

The new Ubersuggest focuses on helping you increase your web traffic and for this, new functionalities are added to the keyword ideas that we all know. And those new tools include a traffic analyzer and an SEO analyzer.

Here’s how Ubersuggest works and how to use this tool to increase your organic traffic from Google.

What is this SEO tool for?

Neil Patel is clear about it and Ubersuggest is presented as a tool to increase your SEO traffic.

However, this is NOT AT ALL TRUE if you do not have certain knowledge and skills in web positioning.

Ubersuggest is used to collect good keyword ideas to position your project, as well as to do a quick SEO audit of the site, both at the level of backlinks and general positioning, including backlink analysis.

In addition, with the “content ideas” section you will see the content already published that is working best for a given keyword.

With all this, you can make decisions about which are the best SEO actions and the main errors to correct in your project to improve it at the level of positioning in Google.

How to get started in Ubersuggest step by step

To start using the tool in Spanish, we type your name into Google and click on the first result, Neil Patel’s website :

Once the page is open, there are two ways to “login” and access the tool:

Login with your Google account.

It is the free registration to try the free version of the tool, which you can use at any time, with a series of limitations every 24 hours.

Enter a keyword in the orange Ubersuggest bar, choose the country and click the “search” button.

If you choose this second option, the tool will follow you until the end of your days to register through your Google email account, so it is worth doing it the first way and save yourself the wear and tear that reminders will cause you. “Login with Google” while using the tool.

If you have decided on the option to enter with Google, the next screen that will appear is this:

Nothing, you just have to type your email or phone number associated with your Google account and password.

In addition, you will give Neil Patel’s tool permission to access your Google Search Console account and access information about your web pages.

Click next and next again.

The next thing you will see is a box where Ubersuggest requests permissions to view Search Console data for your verified websites.

Click on “allow” or not (in that case, uncheck it from the next screen).

You are already registered in Ubersuggest in Spanish!

Right now you will access your dashboard and it will look like this:

Project Creation

Now that you have your account created, it is time to add the first project , if you want to analyze the current SEO status of your website.

But if you want to search for keyword ideas, the main function this tool has always been used for, then you don’t need to add projects.

Simply click to display the left side menu and within the UBERSUGGEST section , click on “keyword ideas”.

Type the keyword, select the language / country and click on the magnifying glass to display the list of keyword ideas to position on your website .

Anyway, I will explain this later in this guide, but you will see it like this:

You can also use the content ideas section and even head over to the traffic analyzer and analyze your competitor’s website.

And all without having to create any project , although if you want to do it you will only have to click on the top bar, on the “CREATE A PROJECT” button.

Now, if you are going to create a project to analyze the SEO of your own site, then read on.

 Location

If you have created your project, you will have filled in the URL of your site and the name that appeared in the pop-up window that appears when you first enter the tool’s dashboard.

Well, after that you will have to select the location.

In my case, I have selected Spanish and Spain :

Click NEXT to continue the process of creating your project.

 Track keywords

On the next screen you will see the keywords that you have already positioned with your website in the chosen location.

To monitor them you will have to add them to the project on the right side and for this you will have to click on the “+” in each of them or even enter the keywords you want to track yourself.

The third option is to upload your keywords through a CSV and the tool will import.

Say at this point that the free Ubersuggest account has a limitation of 25 keywords and that when you exhaust them you will get a notice to try the subscription version for free for 7 days.

Actually, 25 keywords are too few for a project with a certain track record.

Unless it is a totally new website, I recommend you try the trial to be able to test the tool in all its splendor and without so many limitations.

That said, I still have my free account for this tutorial, so we will skip the notices with the limitations of the free account and we will comment on them.

 Tracking preferences

We continue creating our project. This time, friend Neil Patel wants to know what our tracking preferences are .

To do this, you must fill in the ranking tracking frequency preferences , selecting weekly or daily.

And the same with mobile ranking tracking.

Have you tried?

Bad luck.

In the free version it cannot be configured and you must leave it on weekly and deactivated. Come on, mobile ranking tracking will not be taken into account in the analysis of your project unless you subscribe to a paid account of the tool.

Click NEXT!

 SEO training

A new window of the Neil Patel world will open on your screen to configure SEO training options.

Here again, with a free account, you can’t do anything: no biweekly coaching calls or personalized SEO help.

A pity, but if you want them … PAY.

Click NEXT!

 SEO team to increase traffic

Exactly the same.

Neil will ask you if you want his team to help you increase your traffic.

If you click YES, a new window will open in which they request your name and the monthly budget you allocate for Marketing, as well as a phone number. They will contact you and tell you in detail.

If you click NO, the project creation process is complete.

Go to the control panel and start analyzing the SEO of your website.

How to use Ubersuggest in Spanish in 2020

Since Neil Patel bought Ubersuggest, the tool has taken a little twist to incorporate other useful functionalities for SEOs, in addition to its star functionality with which to extract keyword ideas.

There is my project!

With only 17 wonderful keywords to track, which I added as we saw before.

Well, no more dizziness.

Let’s go to WHAT IS IMPORTANT.

Below I will tell you how it works and what data shows one of the few free SEO tools in Spanish.

 Ubersuggest

In this section you will find the functionalities of the tool related to keyword analysis to extract the best ideas for your content. It is subdivided into three more sections:

1. Keyword ideas

It is the prominent feature of the tool since its launch.

You just have to type the keyword you want to obtain information about, select the language / country and click on the magnifying glass icon.

The result will show you the total number of keyword ideas, which are further classified into suggestions, related, questions, prepositions, and comparisons , which is great for planning the h subtitle structure for your content.

And, to get good ideas, it is not enough to review the suggestions.

  • In the “related” section you will find long-tailed terms that will help you prepare more specific content and easier to position than the general term you entered in the search.
  • The questions are equally perfect to use in your h2 and h3 captions.
  • The comparisons will show good ideas to include in your text. For example, in the case of Ubersuggest, I found a comparison with Semrush, Ahrefs or KwFinder, among other tools. These words are perfect at a transactional level because the person who is looking for a comparison between tools is because he has already informed himself and is now in the phase of choosing which of them interests him the most. Depending on the number of searches and the CPC (the higher the better), even if you want to create unique content for a certain comparison. For example: Ubersuggest vs Semrush.
  • In the prepositions you will also find good ideas, both for unique content and to include in the form of an h2 subtitle in your generic content.

In addition, by activating the filters you can sort the results ( up to 40 , if you use the free version of Ubersuggest).

You can set a minimum or maximum for search volume, difficulty, CPC and even include or exclude words.

If you want to see all the results, leave the filters unchecked and you will get the full list of keyword suggestions , as seen in the following image:

If you look closely at the different columns, not only the monthly search volume or the CPC (cost per click, in euros, for SEM campaigns) give you clues as to whether you are interested in attacking that keyword, but you can also consider the PD and SD metrics.

The first one, the PD, is based on competition in paid search (ads); and the SD is based on organic competition, this being the most interesting for you.

As you will see, the tool colors keywords with low competition in green.

This type of metrics that the tools incorporate are not 100% reliable, but they do serve to give you a slight idea of ”where the shots are going” in the SERPS.

The good thing is that this information is complemented with the one that will appear on the right side of your screen.

Here the URLs already positioned for that keyword are shown and thanks to the metrics shown by Ubersuggest, added to the above, they will allow you to know if you can really fight to position that keyword or is it a lost cause.

If you click on the little arrow to the right of each keyword you will see the URLs positioned just on the right side.

If you look at the image below, Neil Patel gives you a brief summary of the top 10 positions at the level of number of links and Domain Score (metric that measures the authority of the site. Similar to Moz’s DA, but being a metric Ubersuggest’s own).

Going into detail you will see that the tool shows the visits, links, DS and engagement in social networks of each URL, which is very good for making decisions.

By the way, in the paid version it is possible to visualize the keywords for which each URL positions and this functionality is really useful to get more ideas of longtails and keywords to plan the structure of your content.

It can be accessed from the column “EST. VISITS ”.

By combining all the information shown in the keyword ideas section, it is possible to make decisions about whether a keyword is easily ‘positionable’ from your website or whether it is going to take too much effort (and money).

Either way, you can export all this information to analyze and sort it in more detail in a spreadsheet.

2. Content ideas

By typing a keyword you will get the content positioned for that keyword that has been shared the most on social networks.

Here’s an example for the word “ubersuggest”:

This is very useful to see what type of content generates more engagement , how the keyword attacks your direct competition and also shows the number of links of the content, so you will get an idea of the competition that you have ahead at the authority level.

This is what we normally look at through the paid version of tools like BuzzSumo .

With the filters that this subsection incorporates, it is possible to show only the contents that have a certain number of shares on Facebook, for example.

It would be great if other social networks were shown , apart from Facebook.

And, even with everything, the paid version of Buzzsumo is still superior, but surely Neil Patel is working to improve this part even more.

Ah! And, as in all sections, the data can be exported.

 Traffic analyzer

This section is very useful for competitor analysis, but you can also analyze your own domain to see if your SEO efforts are leading you to success.

  1. Overview

You will see a trend graph of the monthly organic traffic of your site, with the number of visitors, the organic keywords, the number of backlinks and the domain score.

Remember that, many times, large tons of classified keywords do not mean large tons of web traffic since what matters is having them positioned in the first positions to be able to take advantage of them.

Even so, it is clear that the more keywords the project positions, the better for its visibility.

I tell you this because just below there is a bar chart of the same months in which you can compare the evolution of the positions, each bar being subdivided for keywords positioned in the top 1-1, 4-10, 11-50, 51 -100.

This is what is really important, how many of all those keywords position on the first page of Google?

Just below the bar graph you will see the URLs of the main pages by country and, finally, the best positioned keywords.

  1. Main pages

In the free version you will see only the first 10 pages with the most traffic of the domain that you have analyzed. In addition, the backlinks that each page has are shown and can be viewed with a limitation of up to 5 if you use the free version of Ubersuggest.

In the PRO version, however, you can see up to 10,000 main pages.

  1. Keywords

In this section you will see the keywords by which the domain ranks , with its search volume, position, the estimated organic traffic it receives from Google and the SD (SEO Difficulty: the higher, the more competition.)

All this information can be exported in CSV or copied to the clipboard, perfect for analyzing data in more detail.

Of course, in the free version you will only see 25 keywords.

Do not forget that this is the analysis of the keywords already positioned in the project and that you should not confuse it with the keywords section of the UBERSUGGEST section.

On the other hand, if you want to search for new keyword ideas to rank then type the keyword and country in the orange bar at the top (or in the keyword ideas subsection.

Ubersuggest will show you the suggestions with their corresponding volume, CPC, PD (Paid Difficulty: the higher, the more competition in payment) and SD (SEO Difficulty: the higher, the more competition).

It must be said at this point that the SEO difficulty calculated by Ubersuggest is based on inbound links and does not take into account other factors such as on page SEO, PageSpeed or even the quality of the content.

With this score metric, you know.

Each tool has its own and they help us to get a little idea, but we must not give 100% reliability to any of them alone, without analyzing other important factors in the quality of the domain (DA, DR, TF, CF, among others. ).

Continuing, on the right side of the screen , the Google SERP is displayed with the URLs that are positioning for that keyword.

In the free version you will see the metrics of the first 10, which includes a statistics of visits, number of links, DS and the number of times they have been shared on social networks.

Both the ideas and the URLs positioned in the SERPS with their metrics can be exported in CSV.

Be clear that if a website has a link profile similar to yours, it is very likely that you can position above it through your content.

And SEO tools such as Ubersuggest, which facilitate analysis, will surely help you achieve it.

 SEO analyzer

In this section you can do mini-audits of your own project, your clients or your competition (SEO on page) and you can also analyze the incoming backlinks (SEO off page).

1. Site audit

Here you will find an on-page SEO score based on the proportion of problems found and number of checks executed, monthly organic traffic, organic keywords, and number of backlinks.

Additionally, it displays the crawled pages and a health check bar that breaks down healthy, broken, problem, redirect, and blocked pages.

You will find critical errors , which are the problems that cause the most problems in SEO; warnings , among which you will find less shocking and less technical errors; and recommendations , which hardly have an impact on SEO, but you know, everything counts.

Below you will also find data on the speed of the website that is broken down into load time on computer and load time on mobile.

2. Backlinks

It is difficult to compete with tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs or the Search Console itself when it comes to reviewing all external inbound links to our website.

Ubersuggest displays a Domain Score that predicts the strength of the domain based on different factors.

The number of backlinks is also displayed, breaking down between dofollow and nofollow, as well as referring domains and monthly organic traffic.

In this section we also find a graph of the evolution of the backlinks over time followed by another graph with the new and lost backlinks.

And, at the end of everything, what you expected: the list of backlinks with the type of link, the anchor text, the first and last time they were detected, the domain and the page score, and the origin of the link and the destination. (all on the same screen).

In the advanced filters, applicable only to 25 results if you are in the free version , you can use the include / exclude, filter by domain, anchor or zone; and even use the exact match to find a certain link.

In addition, you can separate the DFs from the NFs to review them calmly.

Ubersuggest Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)

Some common doubts about this SEO tool have to do with the prices, the language or the usefulness of the information it provides.

Below I clarify some:

Is it available in Spanish?

Yes, the tool is translated into Spanish and can be used perfectly in this language.

It’s free?

With the renewal of the tool it is still possible to use Ubersuggest for free, but the truth is that this option is very limited when analyzing a domain since it will only show 10-25 results for each analysis.

It may help you to get an idea of the current status of your project, but to analyze in depth and improve your website in terms of positioning in Google, you will definitely have to pay for one of the monthly memberships.

Pricing plans: how much does Ubersuggest cost?

Prices vary depending on the number of sites you want to manage from the tool. Thus, you currently have up to three available plans that you can exit at any time:

  1. Individual

Up to 3 projects, 100 reports per day, 300 keywords tracked with daily refresh rate, 20 placements, 1000 crawled pages per report, 20,000 keyword suggestions, 2000 content ideas, and 2000 row export per report.

Regarding backlinks, you will have up to 2000 rows.

  1. Small businesses

Up to 7 projects, 1,000 reports per day, 1,000 keywords tracked with daily refresh rate, unlimited placements, 5,000 crawled pages per report, 50,000 keyword suggestions, 5,000 content ideas, and 5,000 row export per report.

Regarding backlinks, you will have up to 5000 rows.

  1. Large companies / agencies

Regarding backlinks, you will have up to 10,000 rows.

Access to Search Console, is it safe?

Of course, as in any other SEO tool.

In addition, you can easily revoke access to the tool from your account settings within Ubersuggest. To do this, click on your profile picture and select “account settings”.

A screen with your email will appear and you will only have to click on “delete my account” so that Ubersuggest will no longer have access to your Search Console through the Google login.

Is Ubersuggest useful for me?

The free version has many limitations and does not allow a deep analysis, but the individual paid version offers a very good value for money.

If you don’t have the budget to pay for other tools, Ubersuggest gives you valuable information when selecting your keywords and planning the contents of your niche.

What alternatives to Ubersuggest are there?

If you want free SEO tools to do your analysis of keywords that represent a real alternative to Ubersuggest then use  others such as Answer the Public, Keywortool.io or the Google Keyword Planner , although to see interesting volumes and data that allow you to do keyword research full, you will have to pay.

Among the most expensive, Sistrix, Semrush, Ryte or Ahrefs, among others.

And so far everything I had to tell you about Ubersuggest in Spanish , what do you think of the tool? Have you tried the free version? Tell me your impressions in the comments and I hope I have helped you use it with this tutorial!
