You can select up to four gadgets at the same time. They will represent that you can swap places while on the field. You will have to use the backpack to activate gadgets beyond the four you choose, but you can change them at any time. Once you have made your decision, click Confirm in the lower right corner of the screen.

Now that your quick swap menu is set up, you can start using the open world feature. Simply press and hold the gadget button (Z for PC), then select the gadget you want to equip, either by clicking the icon on mobile or by pressing the corresponding number button on PC. So you can hold up to four gadgets at the same time and switch between them without opening your backpack.
