Following the advice of your friends, you have finally started using WhatsApp as an instant messaging app and so, for several days, you have been trying to familiarize yourself with its main features: you are able to send messages and use the other basic functions of this popular service, but you still haven’t figured out how to see the last login on WhatsApp , a feature you would like to use to know when a friend has recently connected to the service.
Having said that, if this is indeed the question you want to find an answer to, know that you have come across the right tutorial at the right time! In the next paragraphs, in fact, I will explain in detail how to check the last access on WhatsApp both from smartphone and from computer. Furthermore, if you have problems viewing the data relating to the last access of some of your contacts – perhaps because you have changed some privacy settings or blocked some users – I will provide you with detailed explanations on how to remedy the situation.

How to see a contact’s last WhatsApp login
Having made the initial premises, if you agree, let’s move on to the practical part of the tutorial and see together, step by step, how to see the last access on WhatsApp via the service app for Android (also downloadable from the official website ) and iOS . Also, below, I will explain how to do it from your computer , using WhatsApp Web or the WhatsApp client for Windows and macOS .
Android/iOS
Do you want to know how to see the last access on WhatsApp on your Android device ? No problem; to start, start the official WhatsApp app and tap on the Chat tab located at the top, then locate the contact whose last access you want to see: you can search for it through the list of recent chats, or press the cartoon symbol (in bottom right), press the magnifying glass icon , type the name of the contact whose last access you want to see in the search bar located at the top and, finally, press the corresponding name, among the search results.
If the contact in question has not hidden the information relating to their last access and has not blocked you, you will see the words Last Access [date and time of last access] immediately below their name (at the top of the screen). If, on the other hand, you see the wording Online , it means that the user you are “monitoring” is currently connected to WhatsApp .
To see the last access to WhatsApp on iPhone , first open the official app of the service by pressing on its icon on the home screen, then tap on the Chat item (bottom right) and search for the contact of your interest via the list of recent conversations.
Alternatively, presses the pencil symbol (top right), type the name of the contact whose last access you want to see in the search bar located at the top and tap on it, among the results that are shown to you.
Also in this case, if the contact in question has not hidden the information relating to his last access and has not blocked you, you will see the words Last accessed [date and time of the last access] immediately under his name (at the top of the screen). If, on the other hand, the word Online appears , it means that the user is currently connected to WhatsApp .
PC
As anticipated, you can see the last access to WhatsApp also from PC : you can do this either by connecting to the WhatsApp Web service from the browser or by downloading the official WhatsApp client for Windows or macOS (if you remember, I have already told you about both solutions in the in-depth tutorial on how WhatsApp works on your PC ).
If this is the first time you connect to WhatsApp Web or open the official WhatsApp client for Windows or macOS, you will first need to scan the QR Code , through which you can access your account. Then start WhatsApp on your device, access its Settings , presses on the items Connected devices> Connect a device and scan the QR Code displayed on the computer screen with the camera integrated in your smartphone. After having correctly configured WhatsApp Web or the official WhatsApp client , search for the chat with the contact of your interest in the list of recent conversations, or type in the search bar located at the top left the name of the user you want to view the last access.
Once this is done, click on the relevant result and, if it did not change the privacy settings for the last access and did not block you, you will see the words Last accessed [date and time of last access] right under their name. If, on the other hand, you are currently connected to WhatsApp , you will see the word Online .
How to see last WhatsApp login if hidden
Despite having scrupulously followed the procedure reported in the previous lines, are you unable to see the last WhatsApp access of your contacts? In this case, you may have changed your privacy settings by deciding not to share your last access: if this option is active, consequently, for a reciprocity condition, not even you can see that of other users.
That said, to go back to displaying the last access data of your contacts again, on Android and iOS go to the Settings > Account > Privacy > Last access section and select the option All , My contacts or My contacts except to show the data of your last access to all or only to your contacts.
From a computer , on the other hand, restore the display of the last access through the Settings> Privacy> Last access section , by placing the check mark on the All , My contacts or My contacts options except .
Although you have not hidden your last login on WhatsApp , do you still fail to view the last login of some users? Most likely they have decided to hide the last login on WhatsApp by changing the privacy settings of their account or, in the worst case scenario, they have blocked you.
In these cases, unfortunately, you cannot do much to change the situation and you will have to be content simply to know when the users in question are online , since this data is always visible. How to see last WhatsApp access even if blocked
If you cannot see the last access of some contacts in particular, perhaps you have blocked or have been blocked by the users in question through the special function made available by WhatsApp . In the first case, to remedy the situation and return to viewing the information relating to their last access, simply unlock the blocked contacts .
To do this on Android , open WhatsApp , go to the Messaging app Settings , go to Account , then to Privacy and press the Blocked Contacts option located at the bottom of the screen. Now you should see the complete list of contacts blocked on WhatsApp : presses the name of the contact you want to unblock, select the item Unblock [Name] from the box that opens and that’s it.
On the iPhone , open WhatsApp , go to the Settings of the messaging app, press the Account item , tap the Privacy item , press the Blocked item and, in the list of currently blocked contacts, locate the name of the contact you want to unblock. Then swipe from right to left on it, in order to press the red Unlock button that appears on the side. Simple, right?
Even from a computer you can unblock blocked contacts: to do this, go to the Settings> Privacy> Blocked contacts section . Once this is done, click on the name of the contact to unblock and, finally, confirm the operation, using the Unblock button .
How to see last WhatsApp login without being seen
Would you like to see the last access on WhatsApp without being seen , that is, in the sense that you do not want to enter the chat or do not want your last access or your online status to be displayed ? In that case, unfortunately, I must inform you that it is not possible to do so.
As explained in the previous chapters, in fact, by deactivating your last access you will no longer see that of the others, for a condition of reciprocity and, moreover, it is currently not possible to deactivate the information that shows when you are online .
