Find out if there is a way to read the messages sent on WhatsApp and then deleted.
If you are wondering how to read deleted messages on WhatsApp know that there is no official function that allows you to see shared and then deleted contents. The only effective method and not related to the download of third-party apps, is to restore the chat backup to the date before the cancellation. Read on to learn more.
As known on WhatsApp you can delete the messages sent both “for us” and “for everyone”, this means that you can make a message that you have sent disappear ONLY on your chat or from your chat and that of the recipient. In the latter case, if the person to whom you sent the message has not read it before its deletion, they will not be able to do it again… or almost.
How to see deleted messages on WhatsApp
If you really are dying to find out what was sent to you or if you accidentally delete an important message (or an entire chat) the only way is to restore the backup of the conversations at the time before the cancellation. It is good to know that this operation will permanently delete all messages sent and received after the date the backup was made. In short, it is not exactly an immediate procedure and – if you have activated the automatic saving – it will prove to be almost completely useless.
Ultimately – at the time of writing this article – there are no official solutions that can allow you to easily recover deleted messages. It is highly unlikely that this feature will be introduced especially with regard to messages received and which were then deleted by our contact. Easily restoring them would render the function useless.
For completeness of information, know that there are third-party apps and programs – available for both iOS and Android – that allow the recovery of deleted messages.
