If you are wondering how to get the Green Pass (or Covid-19 Green Certification ) know that it is issued free of charge by the Ministry of Health in digital and printable format after having the vaccine (from the first dose) or after being cured of Covid or after have tested negative on the rapid molecular or antigen test. The Covid-19 Green Certification is a certificate that contains a QR Code and a qualified electronic seal that certifies one of the following conditions:
- having had the COVID-19 vaccination
- be negative on the rapid molecular or antigen test within the past 48 hours
- be cured of COVID-19 in the past six months
Please note: the Green Pass is obtained both after the 1st dose of vaccine and at the completion of the vaccination cycle. However, be aware that after the first dose, about 15 days must pass before the certificate is valid.
How to get the Green Pass
To date, not having the Green Pass means not being able to do many activities – find out when you need the Green Pass in Italy – some as fundamental as being able to work (for example, if you are a teacher), others less “binding” but no less important, how to spend a movie night or work out in the gym.
You can have the Green Pass after vaccination or after having tested negative for a molecular or rapid swab in the previous 48 hours or after being cured of COVID-19.
Of course it is good to specify that there are certain categories that are exempt from the obligation to possess the green certification for access to facilities and activities, find the list on the website of the Government at www.dgc.gov.it .
In addition to certain categories that are exempt, children under 12 are also exempt .
How to apply for the Green Pass

You can have the Green Pass:
- through the site created ad hoc dgc.gov.it(know that it is necessary to have SPID or CIE credentials or a health card);
- through the Electronic Health Record
- Via the Immuni App or the IO App
- With the help of general practitioners, pediatricians of free choice, pharmacies.
