How to print a tri-fold brochure in Word

Although it may seem like a simple task, printing a tri-fold brochure in Word can get messy, not counting the amount of sheets and time wasted. Using Word to make a brochure is one of the best options available.

How to Print a TRIPTYCH in Word Correctly

Word has many features that were created with the user and ease of use in mind. New versions of Microsoft Office are becoming more and more intuitive , but when it comes to peripheral compatibility, one problem or another may arise.

Print a brochure from Word correctly

The triptych is characterized by having three equal parts on each page of the sheet. Once you have created the triptych in Word   correctly, check that each page is divided into three equal parts to avoid printing errors .

After verifying that there are no errors in the document and that all sides of the triptych are the same, it is time to prepare the sheets for printing.

Sheet size

The size of the sheet is very important. You must choose the size of the sheet in Word depending on the size of the press sheet you are going to use.

Even before starting to make the triptych, you must take into account the format of the sheet so that you do not have to correct again just before printing. To modify the size of the page, click on the tab format – configure page .

There are versions like Microsoft Office Word 2016, where the page setup option is found in the Layout tab . In the Page Setup window you can modify the paper options, whether legal size, letter or A4.

Margins

The margins of the sheet have to be in the same shapes throughout the document. In some cases the printer allows maximum 1cm tolerance for printing.

If the printer allows you to set all the margin values to zero, click on the format tab and enter the page setup functions . Sets all margin values (Top, Bottom, Binding, Left, and Right) to zero.

You may have to adapt the content of the triptych to the new measurements of the margins of the page.

If you don’t have this option when printing with zero margins, the printer will not allow you to print the document. In this case, it is best to keep margins of 1cm throughout the page.

Modify the margins in page setup and set the value of 1cm to all, except the binding margin.

Print the triptych correctly on the sheet

With the margins and the size of the sheet correctly configured, it is time to print the triptych. Click on the File tab and select the Print option .

A quick way to access the printing options is with one of the Word shortcut command. The command is used to print Ctrl + P .

In the printing options you can choose the printer you are going to use and even save the file in PDF format.

You configure the final printing options, for example, if you want to print the document in black and white or in color. In the printing options you can also check and modify just before printing the margins and the size of the sheet. It is recommended to use a letter size sheet .

You must first print the first page of the document. In the printing options choose to print current page if the first page is in the preview, verify that the sheet does not come out upside down .

Another option is Manual Duplex Printing . The printer will only print the first sheet and will wait for you to put the sheet back in the printer tray to continue printing.

Remember to place the sheet correctly in the printer tray to print on the reverse side so that both pages match.

If you also have to print the same triptych several times, just indicate the number of copies you want together with the option to Print manually on both sides.

Following these steps, the triptych must already be perfectly printed and without errors. Knowing how to correctly print a Word document can save you time and money.
