How to make an important decision

People often ask me how to make an important decision without fear of making a mistake.

Today I was talking to a girl about how important it is to live every moment, every situation up close, entering it, savoring it and taking care of it. Live it with total concentration on it, as if it were the most important thing.

With love in one word.

In the light of this consideration and thinking about the next day, a doubt arose.

He had to decide whether to go boating with his father or stay at home and use the time dedicating himself to taking lessons from the School of Emotional Independence and apply. Reflect and train to face the day by making this new vision his own.

She enjoys boating with her father and knows that he is happy to have her with him.

Both were worth a lot to her.
She was torn .

How to make such an important decision?

So to help her decide, I thought about a situation that happened to me last summer that lent itself perfectly as a metaphor.

Have you ever stacked wood for the stove?

I was doing that.
When you arrange it you have to stay close to physically fix the piece, but above all to see how to fit it, otherwise you risk the pile falling.

The fact is, however, that up close you do not notice how the construction as a whole is going .

The pieces were in good shape, but something was wrong.
That piece fit just right, but it wasn’t perfect for holding the rest of the stack .

So I stood next to it and changed my perspective, then I moved away and looking at the stack as a whole , I realized that to make a better stack I would have to change it and put it later.

I approached again and arranged a more suitable wood for that point in the construction .

So the girl I was talking to did the same thing.
She walked away and looked at her choice from various perspectives.

Going out on the boat with her father was certainly a good thing, a great way to fix that piece of wood, but from a distance she realized that to give stability to the pile it was not the ideal piece.

Staying at home and taking the time to improve herself would allow her to give much more in the future not only to her father, but to all the people around her as well. It would have allowed her to build a better stack, much more solid and resistant over time.

When you have to figure out how to make an important decision, walk away and change your perspective several times . Evaluate what is the best piece to insert.

You can do the same with any problem.

You look from afar, you change your perspective and systems to build the best life you can.
